Where is the best place to trainer for Johto Elite Four?

I'm trying to re-challege Trainers that I added to my Pokegear, but not that many want to battle, and the wild Pokemon are to weak and give to low EXP.

Where is the best place to train?

PS. I made it to Karen on my first try, but her Umbreon is darn annoying!

in victory road, or at the safari zone gate. All the wild pokemon are pretty weak in hg/ss, but the E4 is too, so you only need Lv50 as long as you have type advantage and full restores/revives.

I've found the best way to lvl is to just keep fighting the E4, U only lose a little bit of money if they beat you. It can get old pretty quick but as Magmarizer said, all the wild pokemon are pretty weak. Hope this helps!

Just go to Victory Road and fight all the wild Pokemon you see. Another option is to re-battle your Rival. If you do want to re-battle your rival, then change your DS Time to Monday and then just go to the Indigo Plateau. After you defeated him change it one year ahead so it keeps on working.

I had trouble leveling my pokemon before E4 too.. They really should have made Victory Road more challenging with a wider range of pokemon types in there.

The Pokes at Victory Road are in their 30s :P

And that comment was helpful because......?

Yep, that's before Johto E4. That's what I always used to do. Also to the week thing, it's because if you do a week you have to click 7 times. But then if you do a year/month it only takes one click which saves more time.

I had forgotten what the levels of the E4 were in my previous file, so I made the mistake of training my Pokemon team up to level 80 in Victory Road. It took forever and it wasn't needed at all.

Being honest, the best place to train for the Elite Four is the Elite Four. There's no other place where you'll get high enough levels to train your Pokémon better than there. The second best place would be Victory Road or the various rematch calls you get from previous trainers you've battled. Anyway, other than what the rest of posters have said above, that's basically the best answer you can get. If you have the need to ask anymore questions regarding HG/SS, please use our Help Thread sticky.
