slowbro or slowking?

okay, just wondering here, should i evovle my slowpoke into a slowking or slowpoke? i know they both learn the same exact things, but just for looking purposes.

ya know, which would look better in a party/battle/whatever...

the only difference between the two are that on a scale of 1-4, slowking has 4 special defense and 2 defense, while slowbro has 4 defense and 2 special defense. i suggest slowking, because high special defense can come in handy, especially since the whole family does not have a weakness against a physical type.

Yeah I would say slowking but if you want to get kingdra (evolved form of seadra) then youve gotta hope one of your friends is going to get a slowking, because you only get one kings rock per game

Actually, since Slowbro/Slowking can both learn Calm Mind and Amnesia, Slowbro is the best of the two in terms of pure tanking ability, for it's higher Defence stat. Bear in mind that both are part Psychic, so they do have a physical weakness, to Ghost moves. I consider Slowbro more of a tank, and Slowking more of a sweeper. It might not be a fast sweeper, but it's kind of like Parasect - it doesn't need to be fast.

And I'd rather look at actual base stats rather than some made up 1-4 scale, because that hardly tells you any difference, when 5 points between base stats means the difference between one Pokemon being faster for example.

For example, let's take that 1-4 scale and look at some top end Pokemon in the speed stat. All of these would be rated 4 in this scale:

Swellow
Dugtrio
Starmie
Aerodactyl
Jolteon

Now, can you tell me which is actually faster? If you just compare on a 1-4 scale, you would think that all of these Pokemon would have equal speed, but the difference is very subtle - but important in remembering who goes first. The actual order is:

Swellow - base speed 115
Dugtrio - base speed 120
Starmie - base speed 120
Aerodactyl - base speed 130
Jolteon - base speed 130

The point of this: learn the base stats, because knowing this is crucial in preserving your Pokemon long enough to win. Some made up 1-4 scale means nothing when a slight difference makes all the difference.

Rant mode off.

Swellow is actually 125 not 115, which is again a huge difference.

Slowbro over Slowking definitely. Both are meant to be calm minding, so the sp.def will eventually pull up. However, Slowking doesn't have the naturally high def in relative comparison to Slowbro, making Slowbro the obvious choice. Likewise, if they're meant to be physical attacking for whatever strange reason, then Slowking will be the obvious choice, because it has a naturally higher sp.def, and curse makes up for the relatively lower def anyway.

Slowking hands down!!! why the heck would you use a slobro when you are probally going up against a special attack based pokemon anyway? your going to need the special defence to last the battle. come on guys think about it.

lol, someone has obviously never heard of calm mind, amnesia...
