Serebii or Pokebeach?
Ok so the question is, to see the new do you use Serebii or Pokebeach?
I like serebii professional layout but sometime pokebech hets the new first :D also i love how pokebeach puts up videos and cards unlike serebii So what bout you? |
i dont really care bout the cards, so serebii is fine
but both suck compared to bulbapedia it has trivia :P |
I always check Serebii first. If there's nothing new or i need to confirm some information or i just wanna check if there's more, then I go to Pokébeach. Pokébeach sometimes havemore content than Serebii does. I just check Serebii first because i'm use to it and it's more than just a Pokémon news website. Besides, Pokébeach is more based on the Pokémon TCG now.
|
I always check Serebii first, to get some information and then come here to comment it. I don't use any other sites about Pokémon.
|
Serebii, I think is more organised IMO.
And I went on Pokébeach and I couldn't really find the sections.. So Serebii. |
Serribi. I have never touched Pokebeach.
|
Serebii is win. But Bulbpedia beats both of em.
|
Serebii.
I like their banners, aswell as their updates on events, anime and Pokemon of the Week :D |
Serebii. But Bulbapedia's epic!
|
Pokebeach gets stuff first more and adds videos, and goes out of his way to go above the rest while on the other hand Serebii is always reliable and has a Twitter account so I always know when there's been major news.
|
Serebii the one and only :D

Webmasters discussion, methinks.
Anyway, I prefer Serebii, simply because it delivers news quickly. |
I used to be a member on Pokebeach, for me the news came quicker and more organised. Serebii has less information on the actual news it self like videos and other pictures.
The card scans are awesome as well. =D |
I use both. Neither get news quicker than the other; it just depends on whether the admin uploads it first. Though pokebeach's interface is much easier to use.

Sure, there's times where news comes while I'm asleep and so Pokébeach will have it, but at times such as now with CoroCoro leaks, it's down to the wire. |

Pokebeach's interface is much easier to use also. =D |
...I find it funny that Serebii posted here, making users more likely to choose the former purely for that reason. Then again, probably not.
... Anyway, I usually go to PokeBeach for B/W news and Serebii for game information. |
I go to Serebii more. I go to Pokebeach rarely.
|
I prefer PokeBeach, but that's because I usually only venture to either site for already existing information, and lately that's been reading up on what a given card's text reads like, and it's quicker to use PokeBeach's sidebar to look at the scans of the cards. That and I prefer the softer blue of the PokeBeach homepage to the less appealing combo of green and black used on the Serebii homepage.
|
I have Bulbapedia on a feed since I find them to be the most organized and aesthetically pleasing. Granted, Serebii and Pokebeach get the news way beforehand, but I also love reading Bulbapedia's columns (like "On the Origin of Pokemon.")
I also find Serebii and Pokebeach's graphics to be... obsolete? I dunno, they just seem so amateur-ish that I wonder how such big sites can't find a better graphic artist. Not that I can do any better. -shot- |
I've never been to Pokebeach so I'll say Serebii.
|
I've been checking Serebii at least once a week for the past 5-6 years. lol
Plus, after talking with both the webmasters on separate occasions, I've decided that WPM isn't a very nice guy. So, that's pretty much why I don't go to his website. Then, there's the whole ~staffed on Serebii Forums for nearly 3 years~ thing u-u |
As a Journalist, I might be able to give a little bit of deep insight into these guys.
I think that both sites (and Bulba) do different things to get the news out and I think in some places they are both effective news sources. PokeBeach tends to break news first and sometimes gets exclusive stuff. However, because they take more, shall we say, liberal acceptance of facts, the site is open to being incorrect more often. Still, the fact that WPM has taken a more risky stance on reporting means he can get more exclusive ones. Serebii is very effective at finding and confirming stories. I typically treat his site like it was a double check. He almost never puts something up that isn't at least confirmed by some source. When it's on Serebii, I treat what he puts up as FACT. Bulbanews isn't really effective as a news source IMO. They often write like it's a blog and are very limited on the details of their stories. Most breaking news stuff is a short lead and there isn't really much after that. However, Archaic and his staff do great editorials that inform the reader very deeply. Also, Bulbapedia has provided a great archive of information for the longest time now. Archaic and his staff may not be the best reporters, but they found their niche and they are dang good at it. All in all, I think the fact that our news sites in this fandom do things so different from (and often against) one another has brought us better reporting and more accurate news than most fandoms. I really must applaud all three of you for doing a great job! |
I just find Pokebeach's colour scheme on the interface much easier then the horrible green on Serebii. I like the enlarging tool as well, but I've also been a member on Pokebeach which makes me go on in more, it's only natural. I think I've only been on Serebii once or twice.
