Possible Danger of Online Play?

I was thinking last night, about being able to play online with Pokemon Black and White.

Than I thought. Wouldn't it be scary if it could be hacked and we lose everything we have?

With all the Action Replayers and Game Sharkees going around, I wouldn't be surprised if someone made a software to hack online play.

That's why I'm a little scared about it.

I don't want to put a prized Pokemon in it and have it hacked away.

Or worse, corrupt all my data.

What do you guys think?

sean777 July 16th, 2010 1:44 PM

Nah itl be safe dont worry gamefreak arent that stupid.... or..... are.... they dumdumdum

Iceshadow3317 July 16th, 2010 1:44 PM

You always have it on your game card.....

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire July 16th, 2010 1:44 PM

I think they will have safe guards against this plus if they do than Nintendo will get plenty of complains and have to be force to either take care of the problem or shut down the online features...

Percy Thrillington July 16th, 2010 1:45 PM

Don't see this happening any time soon.

SehCure July 16th, 2010 1:46 PM

It doesnt save after you walk into the room, so just turn it off.;\\

Iceshadow3317 July 16th, 2010 1:47 PM

It's already confirmed we can play online.

You will always have the file on your DS Card. There for not hackable.

Calder July 16th, 2010 1:52 PM

Ah thanks for the idea

*Starts to work on the program to screw up everyones fun*

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

This is great news :)
Then they won't be corrupt save files :)

pichuspark July 16th, 2010 2:00 PM

Wait...don't we like transfer our save file online, play some minigames, then transfer our save file back to the DS?

Benjamin510 July 16th, 2010 2:01 PM

Thank you Technogod, for your power to fix haxorxs!

Iceshadow3317 July 16th, 2010 2:03 PM

Most likely it will act like a pokewalker. Where you transfer data to computer but it stays on card and then your data on the computer will update the game.

bobman1234 July 16th, 2010 2:28 PM

If someone did make the program, it wouldn't matter. Only you can hack your save file. It's not like someone will sneak into your house and hack it.

XEL July 16th, 2010 2:36 PM

Even if this worked it would take a while for them to download all your data, edit, then upload to **** up your game save.

Conan Edogawa July 16th, 2010 2:45 PM

A lot of people here aren't seeing the threat. You don't need to be at the same computer to hack data, think of viruses, trojan horses and similar programs. Since it is online play they could make the program target the network and screw up peoples data. It's very possible that someone could do something like that but I wouldn't call it likely.

Thorns July 16th, 2010 2:45 PM

No, I don't mean your save file in your game. I mean the one you upload online.

People have hacked accounts online before.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire July 16th, 2010 4:20 PM

Well that is horrible...we will need safe guards against Trojan horses, viruses, etc then...

Ninja Caterpie July 16th, 2010 4:28 PM

Your save is still on your cart. Nobody's sending something from a computer to your DS cart, and absolutely nobody is making a virus on their freakin' Nintendo DS and sending it over Nintendo WFC to hack your DS cart.

This isn't the big, wide, open Internet where you can force people to download stuff against their will. This is Nintendo WFC. Wtf are you going to do, attach a virus to a Pokemon and trade it? Doesn't work like that.

Zet July 16th, 2010 6:47 PM

Dangers of online play = voice chat with pedos when trading/battling.

Haza July 16th, 2010 9:02 PM

Lol, it's a funny idea. What if the database of the website crashed while you file was on there and you couldn't get it back! :O Maybe you can still play it while it's loaded on to the web.

Germaniac July 16th, 2010 9:20 PM

I don't think there will be a cheat to change oppenent's save file...

This is how it proly works:

A copy of your save file is sent to the website. When you send it back it checks your old save file and compares it with the new one. If the check passes then the old save file on your DS cart is overwritten with the new data.

Zeta Sukuna July 17th, 2010 3:27 AM

Highly doubt there is much to be scared about... other then the pedos and stalkers. Anyway, while it is possible for someone dedicated enough to hack it, I wouldn't be all paranoid about it right now, especially since the games aren't even out yet.

Iceshadow3317 July 17th, 2010 3:34 AM

We will probably have to have a USB cable to connect and transfer the file.
