[CLOSED] Unacceptable closure for my thread in Black and White section

THREAD CLOSED

This thread is created by a concerned forummer and has no intentions to be against the rules of the forum.

~LINK REMOVED~

Spoiler:

I am referring to this thread I created:
Compilation of Generation V Pokemon

I found my thread is closed by Morkula.

I am deeply disappointed and furious that this thread I created is unexpectedly closed. I had spent about 2 hours to create it, only to find out that an administrator closed it due to "many related topic" to my thread.

I have several related reasons why it should not be closed:
*It has updated pictures (Pokemon Art), and image source link copied to the thread.
*It has reference link (the hyperlink on the Pokemon's name)
*I am going to update it everytime when more is revealed.
*It is a compilation of Pokemon - not like seperately. It will be troublesome to click to see other threads. Also, most threads just put Pokemon info but no pictures.
*It is categorised in 'Spoiler' to reduce lagness on most computer.

I am also hoping that my thread will be list in the 'Thread Index' that is stickied in the Black and White. But the final decision is: Closing it? Sigh...

I wanted to complain that the forum's policy is being too strict or sensitive about creating a new thread with similar thread. But my thread is different from other threads. Why closed it when I have spent efforts on creating it?

Yes, this thread is broad. That serves the whole purpose. To summarise the Generation V Pokemon, and interested readers can read in depth of them by clicking the hyperlink. And it is still expanding, I am going to add information and sprites today (17 July) by editing them, but sadly, it is closed.

The PokéCommunity forum is to allow us to share our joy and appreciation in the Pokémon franchise, chat about it, sharing valuable information. Closing it will be a defiance and personal attack on the creator who spends their precious time and efforts creating it. Of course, obvious repeated topics/spams should be closed, but mine is not 'repeated' and certainly not a 'spam'.

I hoped that the administrator will be understanding and look into this matter, and allow me to resume editing the thread.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Your thread was merely summing up what has been announced and not contributing anything new to discussion, but merely to make an attempt to make one whole discussion thread which can lead to many off topic discussions instead of currently discussing x. So really you shouldn't be complaining as to why it's unacceptable when all you would be doing is making people get warned/infracted, so the already numerous threads discussing what you have posted are neat, clean and not filled with spam.

This explains why your thread was closed. There is no need for such a broad thread when several other thread in the same forum are discussing the same exact thing. There are other threads that are discussing other Gen V Pokemon. For example, you included the starters in your post, which can be discussed in this thread. If perhaps, you wanted to discuss about things like Koromori, you can discuss that here.

Rankurusu and Gochiruzeu can both be discussed in this thread. The fact that there are so many threads and that your thread is also there to discuss them...there's just no point to it, since those threads already have that purpose.

Yes. But I am going to add more, but the threads you show me do not have enough pictures (or no pictures). My thread have. And, I don't see Pokemon like Kibago, Gochiruzeru, Minezumi, Musharna and Wooguru (i am referring to Pokemon Art). My thread is like a directory. You find the Pokemon - click on the link leading to the Pokemon.

I took a peek at that thread before I left for work this afternoon, and I didn't see anything in there that I couldn't find here.

Pokecommunity is a forum to harbor discussion and speculation, leave the collaboration of news to news sites like Serebii, Pokebeach, and Bulbagarden. :P

That's because it is closed before I can finish it. Sigh... I should have finish it so it will not close...

I would like to see the comments make by normal users.

Corruptodile July 16th, 2010 7:38 PM

Sorry, but nothing I hadn't seen before. I think that because it wasn't a discussion of such, rather just a collection of pictures it was closed. We've also got individual threads with more in-depth discussion, all of which include pictures. The only thing I would say is when new news comes out, be the first to post it on PC.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. :)

They are normal members, just ones who've donated.

Your thread wasn't going to harbour any good, proper discussion. It's far too broad for that. The discussion would hop from subject to subject, moving at a ridiculous pace and everyone would be going off-topic. It'd be more off-topic than the Daily Chit Chat or The Count to Infinity, seriously.

Your thread was showcasing stuff, which is already done by Bulbapedia, Pokebeach, Serebii and who knows how many other Pokemon fansites. It wouldn't have generated much good discussion, and any it would have goes much better in other threads - More simple Pokemon = better?, Starter discussion, Rankurusu and Gochizeru, Legendary discussion, Korimori, Your favourite new Pokemon, Weird Pokemon, etc. They're everywhere. If there's an individual Pokemon you think deserves more discussion, make a thread for that Pokemon.

My day, it has been made by this comment~

Anyways, everyone know a forum is for discussion and for socializing and having fun, silly. We don't want boring showcases where it is unnecessary. Leave that to the boring Encyclopedias.

I see that this debate is getting out of hand. Please close this thread then and move this to the archives. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Just want to say. Comments varied from different groups of people.

Normal users - provide feedbacks. more knowledge on Pokemon. tend to support normal users.

Admin and other staff - tend to protect their rights. policies and opinions. argue with normal user to fight for their cause.

I studied Social Studies, so I know how people behave. Similarly, in a country:

citizens - provide feedbacks. know more about their needs and wants. have the power to vote their government

government (uncorrupted) - meet the needs of its people. listen to people. give appropriate opinion to ensure that its citizens have meet their needs.

government (corrupted) - do not meet the needs of its people. greedy. do not listen to people. tend to support themselves.

In conclusion, I hope that the PokeCommunity admin and staff can be more understanding and listen to our (normal users) thoughts, instead of protecting themselves and creates disatisfaction to our normal users.

With this, thread closed.

Take a look. There haven't been any staff that have posted. "PC Supporter" simply means they've loved PC enough to donate. They care more about PC and its staff and members more than normal members, so I dunno where your annoyance comes from. Generally, these people have much experience here and now exactly what people want and how they work. That and mods here are chosen based on their responsibility and personality, not popularity.

Huh? The problem is, this isn't United State Government or whatever the crap. This is basically a website and its admins can do whatever the hell they want with it. That is the main thing of the internet. <(''<)

It's an anology. Get it?
Admin is like government.

You should study Social Studies to study about people's behaviour.

Morkula July 16th, 2010 8:08 PM

Yeah, um...this is ridiculous. It was a locked thread, not the end of the world. You didn't get infracted or anything.

...but you will now for advertising a forum in your first post!
Locked.
