Photoshop CS4 Help

Well, when I try and open Photoshop it tells me to move it to the 'D Drive' and it already is there! Any help?

I'm assuming you're using Windows, correct? Which version (XP, Vista, 7)?

I think it wants the installation disc? :s

Assuming you've bought this, you're going to need to reinstall with your disk as that is what is asking for. You haven't specified whether or not you have bought it nor have you outlined that it's been working before or not. If you've gotten it my other means, be sure to mount your disk to the drive (iso). But yes, it's looking for the installation disk.

Darn, my computer doesnt have a Disk Drive!

twocows July 25th, 2010 12:22 PM

I'm assuming you have a legally obtained installation disc. If you can make an ISO image of your disc, you can use Daemon Tools to mount the image as if it were a disc (make sure to uncheck all the crapware that Daemon Tools tries to install when installing itself). That should let you install. Alternately, external CD/DVD drives are relatively cheap, especially in comparison to CS4; here is a drive that should be suited to your needs.

Google is, as always, your friend.

This annoying problem was introduced with CS3, and still applies up to the new CS5. The problem is that when you run the installer from a removable media, the installer is no longer dynamic and looks for all its installer files in a folder called Adobe CSx (x being 4 in your case). This directory must be located in the root of the media or the installer won't work. Judging by the screenshot, your full path is D:\Adobe Photoshop CS4 Disc 1\Adobe CS4. If you move the Adobe CS4 folder outside its parent folder (in other words, you need to have D:\Adobe CS4), everything should work fine then.
