worst game you ever got

what was the worst game you have ever bought and why? It can be a real game or a downloadable game (i.e. Wii Ware, Xbox Live Arcade, PSN, DSi ware)

The worst game i recently bought was Deadliest Warrior: The Game. The controls are awful and punish you for button mashing by disconnecting the controller

redsaber5859 July 24th, 2010 9:52 PM

Oh god, I got Drawn to Life 2 and I played it, it was cool, then when I was at the final level, I thought I wasn't very far in it, cuz it's SUCH A DAMN SHORT GAME, then at the end, some useless NPC becomes god, WTF?

Overall-DtL2 is the absolute worst game ever, haven't played wii version but the ds version was so damn bad I couldn't stand it, 0/10 for the game OMFG

biancafanboy July 24th, 2010 9:58 PM

Exactly the same thing. By the way, you forgot games similar to Tetris *cough*Pokémon Trozei*cough*.

SinisterEternity July 24th, 2010 10:35 PM

I have bad memory, but I think it was :

Dragon Quest : Journey of the Cursed King
and an oooooooold game on GBC, adaptation of the movie "Quest for Camelot".

Droidz July 24th, 2010 11:26 PM

I can't think of what is the worst game I've got, but a pretty terrible game I've gotten before is Army of Two The 40th Day. It was just so boring

Raichupacabra July 24th, 2010 11:42 PM

Away Shuffle Dungeon
it was really horrible

Beechlgz July 24th, 2010 11:49 PM

I'm not sure, I don't really buy games these days so I've forgotten the title names of the worst games I've ever bought (or been given).

A Dragon Ball Z game that I bought as a kid for the GBA... it was very boring, VERY short and didn't really require much effort other than through grinding (it was a level-up RPG) which was effortless also Level cap was 25 or something. Apparently there were follow-up games that continued afterwards but 1) I didn't even know this until years later, they might have wanted to say on the box or manual it was part 1 of many and 2) That one game alone was damn expensive! Complete rip-off.

I really considered taking it back to the store for a refund but I guess the game was fully functional so I probably wouldn't gave got my money back.

There were others like this one RPG I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called but I did return it! Unfortunately for less the price than I bought it. It looked like it had the potential to be a really good RPG, graphics were great but in a very flat picture-book style, very little animation. It was quite unique. But unfortunately the game mechanics and level-up and learning new moves were just far, far too complicated. I don't know how many hours I spent with the instruction manual next to me just trying to figure it all out (the instruction manual didn't even explain some very complicated parts of the workings of the game). Nights in fact. Eventually I just gave up. Even when I was beginning to get the hang of it some parts of the game were just completely illogical, so just as you thought you were getting the hang of the system something new would jump out at you to completely confuse you. There also was no feedback or feeling of reward for getting things right or completing a task, so I was never quite sure if I had done it or not. As I said the game had potential but it should have been designed in a more logical way, or at least have come with better instructions.

Nintendogs... just plain creepy to have a "fake" pet that tries to be so lifelike. You could develop a bond with it too easily and you have to keep reminding yourself that it isn't real. That just makes me feel really creeped out. My DS came with it.

Another GBA game that was quite crap, can't remember the name, it was just so boring and just cruising through levels while levelling up your character. Game was finished in pretty much a day (and I'm one of those kinds who only spends an hour or less a day on a games console). There was no story except a small explanation at the beginning. *yawn*

There has been a few.

Maybe Blur just because the Multiplayer beta promised so much and then the final product was terrible or Super Mario Galaxy because everyone else thought it was brilliant somehow.

But if it had to be for ultimately just being terrible definitely Alone in the dark.

vibratingcat July 25th, 2010 4:08 AM

there are a few that i have, one that comes to mind is karaoke joysound wii but thats not really a game...
people will probably kill me but i would have to say super mario bros. I got it off wiiware coz i had 500np so i thought why not, everybody else like it.
I got bored of it in 5 minutes. In fact, i was probably still bored even through those 5 minutes. Seriously, why does everybody like it so much?

TheAppleFreak July 25th, 2010 5:23 AM

I've owned a few bad games over the course of my video gaming career, but the one that stands out above all to me is Code: Lyoko: Fall of XANA for the DS.

I'm an avid Code: Lyoko fan, and I've gotten all three of the games. The first DS game was absolutely amazing from a fan's perspective. The Wii game, while visually impressive, lacked the same plot and length that the DS game had, but at least that provided some good combat levels. Fall of XANA, however, was complete and utter crap. Theoretically, it was supposed to follow the plotline of the Wii game with the same promise of action, but it was anything but that. The "action" was nothing more than dragging your player avatar around on screen (kinda like TWEWY, but without everything that made that game good) and then selecting attacks in a turn-based RPG setting. No. I played it a little then I tossed it in my game case, never to be played again. That game singlehandedly ruined the series for me.

Probably Rock Revolution for the 360. It was only 10 bucks, but I'm not even sure it was worth that.

Which one? DTL 2 or DTL Spongebob edition? Anyway, the latter was way too short and the DS game i ever bought...

Agent Clank July 25th, 2010 9:06 AM

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
It was hard to controll and I could hardly even get off the first level.
and when I did,It was even harder then the 1st level!
Yeah, worst game I have ever bought.

Sydian July 25th, 2010 9:26 AM

Good Lord. :|

A Series of Unfortunate Events (GBA)
After this game, I quickly learned never to buy a game based of a movie that was based off a book ever again. The levels were too weird, the controls were confusing and easy to forget...just awful. I think this is one of the only games I have ever sold to a game store. Didn't get paid much for it either. Wasn't expecting to anyway.

Pokemon Battle Revolution (Wii)
Now, I know a lot can be said about this game, and we all know what those things are. I will just leave this as...it was a bad game to be my first one for the Wii. The graphics are nice...and...the music...but that's really it.

Pokemon Ranger (DS)
No. No. No. No. No. Never again.

I'll probably come back and edit this.

Cilerba July 25th, 2010 10:12 AM

Not technically the worst game I ever purchased, but it had to be one of them.

Pokémon Battle Revolution.
I expected much more from this game. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing multiplayer with friends, but I think they could've added some more features that would make this game much more enjoyable.

Akeraz July 25th, 2010 1:19 PM

Eternal Quest for the PS2.
It's the worst game EVER. Undoubtedly so.

thedestinedblade July 25th, 2010 2:21 PM

Worst game I purchased was probably Arc the Lad: End of Darkness. It was a sequel to one of my favorite PS2 titles so I bought as soon it was released. Too bad they completely changed the style of gameplay the series is known for resulting in a disaster. Hopefully this game didn't kill the series.

Arcanine July 25th, 2010 5:53 PM

I would have to say Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the PS2. My brother got that game in hope that it'd be the same as the 360 counterpart... well... lets just say that no long after we got this game we got a 360. The PS2 ver was just so bad... $50 wasted on a piece of crap.

Meadow July 25th, 2010 6:00 PM

I would have to say Monster Rancher 2... and that was a long time ago. Since then, I made better choices with buying games.

Planetes. July 25th, 2010 6:03 PM

jesus christ, I've made so many returns to gamestop lets see...most of these I got when I was younger

Shadow the Hedgehog, there was like 5 levels, crappy story, no fun
Madden, (I think it was 06) for Nintendo DS, the graphics and controls were HORRIBLE and it didn't even have the players first names. So the Quarterback for the Colts was P.Manning, screw you EA sports (I actually love there console games tho)
My Sims Racing-When I saw the commercial I thought it would be like mario kart. HUGE MISTAKE. The controls, characters, graphics all sucked. It made me want to shove a wii remote down my throat

Luck July 25th, 2010 6:22 PM

Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Wii was definitely the worst game I ever bought, for the fact that it's Pokemon Stadium without the fun. Mind you there are much worse games that I either borrowed or downloaded, but that's not the point here.

TheBigMan0706 July 25th, 2010 6:54 PM

why is everyone hating Battle Revolution?

Jung July 25th, 2010 6:59 PM

Combat Force or Task 121. I forgot which one it was. =S an Fps at it's worse. Also the GBA game Advanced Guardian was horrible as well.. shouldn't have bought it >.<

PokeLawry July 25th, 2010 7:27 PM

Mario Paint, SNES. and actually, Super Mario 64 for DS. I Just wasnt feeling it... at all.
