Tyranitar needs a move
I happen to have a Tyranitar, Lvl 56, in my quest for completing the Pokedex's, all 4 of them, and realised that it can be quite a useful substitute.
SO, i need help to find a fourht move for it. heres how it stands as such: Crunch (STAB) Rock Slide (STAB) Earthquake (no STAB, but still powerful) ----------------- i have exhauted all TMs found throughout the game, so the TMs in Celdaon Dept Store and Game Corner are the only options, and money is no objective. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated |
i reccomend a good thunder move really helps on alot of pokes
|
make it learn a fire move an electric move and a dark and ground :P
flamethrower thunderbolt (not thunder because thunder isnt that accurate) crunch earthquake this is just my opinion |
i have been thinking along the same lines as you, pokemunna. Flamethrower and thunderbolt have the same attack, PP and accuracy, same with ice beam.
In fact i have just made my choice: Ice Beam. it takes out grass, ground and dragon which arent taken out by the first three moves (goes to celadon city game corner) |
oh thats great learnt ice beats grass and if i use tyranitar in lg i will give him ice beam just wondering can larvitar learn these attacks
ice beam earthquake crunch thunderbolt at lv.5? |
according to my research, yes and no. if the father knows earthquake and crunch, a newly bred larvitar will inherit them. as for thunderbolt and ice beam, larvitar cant learn them from TMs, so you are out of luck on that one
|
I reccomend Dragon Dance or if you can't make it, give it Thunderbolt
|
And it’s moved off to movesets. Advice for in-game or competitive movesets goes there.

Dragon Dancing Tyranitar needs a selection of physical moves to make it work effectively, special sweeping Tyranitar doesn't necessarily hurt as much when you have the ability to boost Speed AND Attack.
[email protected] Berry EV: 252 Speed, 252 Att, 6 Def/Sp Def Nature: + Speed, - Sp Att Dragon Dance Earthquake/Brick Break/Rock Slide Rock Slide/HP Rock/HP Ghost Taunt/Screech/Brick Break Taunt really messes up tanks and other Pokemon that will try to use Will-O-Wisp, Thunder Wave or Toxic on Tyranitar, and the Lum Berry gives that much needed protection. Consider Screech for an interesting pseudohazing idea - anything that gives you an extra turn to Dragon Dance is always a good idea. Otherwise, it's your selection of physical moves, with an alternative offering of HP Rock - minor drop in power for 100 accuracy, something Rock moves really lack is decent accuracy - or HP Ghost as a threat to Ghost types. |
Protect on it has completely thwarted Slakings for me before, and the lefties have saved me once or twice while protecting. XD
I wouldn’t go screech, though. o_O Go Ice Beam, just so you can kill at least one Flygon. Then ALL the other Flygons back at the watering hole will never let him live it down. It’ll be like “Hey, hey, you remember that time, that Joe lost to a TYRANITAR!? Oh yeah, he got beamed!” XD *ignore me* (Ice Beam suggestion not serious, I do DD/EQ/RS/Protect) |
IMO earthquake is a must have with dragon dance..............
taunt, protect or thunderwave as an annoying move and then a last attacking move Tyranitar[adamant] EVs- Sp,Def, Att focus punch rock slide thunderwave/taunt substitute that is another option which i really like |
all those movesets suck u all suck....
|
Frozone tell us why all the movesets suck and we all suck? I think you just suck
Anyway for Tyranitar DD|EQ|RS|TAUNT is good enough |
mine knows Surf, Flamethrower, thunderbolt, and earthquake, maybe try that out
|

Anyway, T-tar rapes with: -Dragon Dance -Rock Slide -Taunt -Aerial Ace/Earthquake Good Job =] |
