The toughest challenge ever! Enter at own risk! >>>

Well hello again! Good to see you!
My name is professor Oak... wait, wrong text!

This is my second challenge and this one is going to be the toughest challenge you've ever participate!

In this challenge you'll not be forced to release pokemon if they faint, you'll not be forced to use only one type of pokemon! No, no in this challenge, you'll have to use one attack, and one attack only!

Puzzled, not a suprise! Well, let me explain what this challenge is all about: you'll have to use only one attack, for example Rock Throw, and the pokemon you have in your team can only have this one move! This ofcourse means that you'll be spending so much time in move deleter's house, the poor guy will start to think you're spying on him!

Rules:
1) No hacking or cheating! This challenge is suposed to be hard, so what's the point of participating if you'll cheat?!
2) You can only use pokemon which have learned move which the challenge is based on!
3) No trading allowed!
4) You can use starter until you are able to catch a pokemon that learns move which is allowed, but once you catch that kind of pokemon you may not use your starter anymore (unless the starter is within the same group)!
5) HM buddies(slaves) are allowed, but they must not be used for battling!
6) The challenge for each game is completed once the Elite Four is beaten!

7) Pokemon used for battling can have only one move and that's the one you've chosen! Any other moves must be deleted at once!
8) You can have more than one pokemon as long as they have the move you've chosen!

CHALLENGES:
Of course moves such as Earthquake and Thunderbolt are not allowed, as there are pokemon which are imune to such type of attacks!

Surf - For those that will use surf, a pokemon with surf must be traded over before the player starts the second gym battle!

Ice beam

Razor leaf

Rock throw

Dragon claw - For those that will use Dragon claw, a pokemon with that move must be traded over before the player starts the second gym battle!

Flamethrower
dragoniteuser

Iron tail

Champions

If you have any questions or ideas you want to share, just Pm or VM me!
Also if I forgot a move, or you think that a move not listed should be added, PM or VM me!

one word:

Shedinja
O.o maybe you should have thought this through a bit more... but ill do rock throw

myrrhman August 6th, 2010 11:56 AM

This is my level of challenge. Quick question though, you said that we aren't allowed to hack/trade, but for some moves (like flamethrower) the pokemon that get them get them at really high levels. Soooo you'd basically be doing a majority of the challenge without the move you were using (especially if you had like three Pokemon that could all learn Flamethrower, you could use Charizard's Slash and Ponyta's Stomp for quite a bit).

I think trading/hacking should be allowed, but only to teach your pokemon the move as soon as possible. Also, I might sign up later.

agreed
but ONLY for that purpose

Sydian August 6th, 2010 12:06 PM

Not signing up, but just wanna say that I think limiting to those moves is kinda lame. We should be allowed to choose our move. I would be liking of my Dragon Claw pl0x.

But yeah. Just wanted to point that out.

True, but in Mauville City there's game corner, where you can easily "buy" or win TMs, of which some are in the challenge.
But, the fact is, you'll be able to use more moves rhrough a big part of the game!
Soo new rule: For those that will use surf, a pokemon with surf must be traded over before the player starts the second gym battle!

BlueShellBeast August 6th, 2010 12:11 PM

That's too bad...I was thinking about trying to do this with Surf, and I don't have any cables to trade over Pokemon from 3rd generation games. I might try this with Ice Beam, though.

Sorry for double posting!
The real challenge is to acctually beat the whole game with just one move! That means a lot of grinding, some gyms to be a piece of cake, and some to make you want to scratch your eyes out!
And of course you can choose what move you're gonna be using, as lond as it is listed above, but once you make your choice, you have to stick to it!
Also, on the thread says that any suggestions can be made, so I will add Dragon Claw Challenge, but the same rule applies as for Surf!

shedinja isnt affected by stuff, it can only be affected by:
fire
rock
flying
ghost
dark

so you need to have:
flamethrower
rock throw

got

Aeriel ace? fly?
Shadow ball/claw
Crunch/bite

Cuz shedinja is all over in RSE

What are you talking about?! There isn't a SINGLE Shedinja in the whole region, NOT ONE trainer has it, unless you catch it though, and in that case what do you care if those moves affect it or not?!

redsaber5859 August 6th, 2010 12:34 PM

In emerald people had it...
I've never played RS though, but in emerald a few trainers have sheddy

anyways, I'm doing rock throw, and I'm using GS to get 99 rock throw tm's so its harder

amberfunk August 6th, 2010 12:39 PM

I think you should be allowed to use a bigger variety of just the moves that you put down. Like Sydian said the challenger should be able to pick the move that they go through the game with. Also you would have to have a lot of ethers, elixers, etc. So maybe you should put something in the rules with how many you can get. Those can't be brought by the way.

dragoniteuser August 6th, 2010 12:41 PM

This thread was kinda getting off-topic, so to set it straight... my first update.
I started the flamethrower challenge, so natturally I chose Thorchic for my starter...
i've won the first gym without a problem with Combusken's Double kick.. Now the second gym awaits...
my team:
Combusken lvl. 18
Ember
Double Kick
Peck
Focus energy

I plan on getting TM Flamethrower as soon as I get to the Mauville Game corner, so I'm saving my money fot it!

Kanto_Johto August 6th, 2010 12:55 PM

'Enter at own risk!' is the funniest thing I've ever read on this website.

ger345 August 6th, 2010 2:13 PM

wow, this is really hard! Im going to use Msdeveus, im going to shark it in and use, Flamethrower, and make sure it only knows flamethrower by using a hack, i hate doing it but, thats the only way i can get misdreveous with flamethrower, I knowit wont faint, because its a ghost type pokemon, oh im also doing it on emerald.

Any ways making my first update allready:
did all the begining crap. koed the zizgagoon easily with flamethrower. Met crazy scott. Went through petteburg forest, got to rustboro and went straight to the gym. Beat it, went on and got cut, caught a slave, used cut to get a few things. Beat that goon in rusturftunnel. Got the devon goods and a letter.

redsaber5859 August 6th, 2010 2:20 PM

Alright, rock throw
I'm currently planning the best playthrough, so I wont update for a while

Sorry but I can't add you if you're hacking, even if it's done with good intentions, use a pokemon that can eventually learn flamethrower, and until it does use other moves...
Sorry but if I let you do this once then everybody would be doing the same thing, and then there wouldn't be a real challenge in it! Sorry...

Most Pokemon don't even learn Flamethrower until, like, level 40, at the least, so you'd be playing through the majority of the game with other moves, rather than the one your supposed to be challenged to. There is a giant, giant flaw in your challenge.

Buy the TM at Mauville, therefore you've got the move you need to complete the challenge, and all that before 3rd gym! You've got a lot of work to do after it, don't worry!
Besides if you think the challenge isn't good, don't play it, but if you ask me I think you just don't have what it takes to finish it! Prove me wrong!

My update:

It's going pretty well acctually, Combusken is kicking a** so I got through 2nd gym in the first try. I delivered the letter, went to Sotopolis, and all the way to Mauville, destroying trainers as I go! Still have only Combusken, but I plan to catch Slugma and Numel in the fiery path...
Anyway, got to Mauville, and the first thing I did was to buy TM Flamethrower at the Game corner, so I guess now my challenge only begins! I'll "use" an idea that BlueShellBeast sent me over PM and teach Combusken those lame three HM: Cut, Rock Smash and Flash, which will force me not to teach Combusken, sorry Blaziken now, new moves, and keep using only Flamethrower! There0s a long way to Lilycove, where Move deleter lives...

my team:
Blaziken lvl. 37
Flamethrower
HMs

BlueShellBeast August 8th, 2010 11:08 AM

So we can teach them HMs? Great! Now I don't have to give up two pokemon slots. I'll update when I can finally buy Ice Beam.

You can but only until you get to the move deleter. At thet point all moves, except the one you've chosen must be deleted! But to save you some slot use Kecleon for a HM Buddy. It's a perfect pokemon for the job cause it can learn all HMs except fly, so...

Alright, I'll have to go back to my original plan, then.

Ice Beam Update #1

I started the game choosing Mudkip (Glacies), since he could learn Ice Beam. After beating May, I caught a Wingull (Sorbett) and a Zigzagoon (Eis). I then went to defeat the first gym. Glacies took out those rock types quick. I then caught a Whismer (Gelato) and beat up Team Magma.

After having a bit of trouble on the second gym, I made it though the cave, and talked to Steve. I then used an escape rope to get out. After this, I beat Magma in Slateport, and went up to beat May again. After losing to her a few times, I was able to get though. Now I'm in Mauville City, and I need to figure out where that Coin Case is.

Current Team

Glacies (Marshtomp)
Lv. 25

Eis (Linoone)
Lv. 20

Gelato (Whismer)
Lv. 7

Sorbett (Wingull)
Lv. 3

dragoniteuser August 9th, 2010 1:04 AM

Well, as much as the third gym was easy to deal with using Flamethrower, the fourth was a real nightmare! Getting to the gym was pretty easy and fast, if we don't include the time it took me to find Modest nature Slugma and Numel. Flannery is increadibly tough to beat, when you're using only a flamethrower! It took me about 20 retrys to finnaly beat her, even though my pokemon are all high level now! At the end I acctually lucked out, cause Slugma I defeted before that-cursed-Torkoal used Sunny day and my Slugma used it's flamethrower with a critical hit so it KOd Torkoal!
My team now...
Blaziken lvl. 38
Flamethrower
HMs

Slugma lvl. 29
Flamethrower
Rock throw
Smog
Harden

Numel lvl. 30
Flamethrower
Focus energy
Growl
Tackle

P.S.: To BlueShellBeast to get the Coin Case, go get the harbour mail in Slaterport (buy at Mart) and then go to Mauville. In the first (southest) house, you'll see a girl, talk to her and she'll trade her Coin Case for your harbour mail! ;)

dragoniteuser August 11th, 2010 1:02 AM

HM... nobody's sinig up..., what's the matter, are you... chiken?

BlueShellBeast August 11th, 2010 12:37 PM

No, I've just been working on my Solo challenge. I got Ice Beam, but I want to give a longer update than, I beat Wattson and kicked Magma out of err... what was that cave called? I'll update after I beat the fire gym.
