Pokèmon Type changes!
So, I think that Game Freak MUST change some Pokèmon types.
First of all, Gyarados. He's a Water-FLYING type, why? WHY? He can't even use a Flying-type move! Why? He MUST be a Water-Dragon type! And the Porygon family, they learn a lot of Electric and Psychic moves, so making them of these two types isn't a bad idea! What do you think about this? Who needs some type change? |
I don't think they will change a pokemon's type it will cause confusion to some fans...
|
Gyarados is Water/Flying because of the legend that it is based on. It has also been seen flying in the anime, and can learn Bounce, which is a flying type move.
Porygon, along with many other normal types learn a lot of non-normal type moves, so that's not a good defense to change its type. Should we make Zigzagoon a Electric type because it can also learn a lot of electric type moves? No. Nothing about Zigzagoon screams Electric type. Nothing about Porygon screams Electric or Psychic type. Porygon is the first artificial Pokémon ever created. That makes it Normal to me. |

Porygon is completely new, made out of polyhedrals and programming code. |

Yeah so it should be electric as it was created using computer code which is connected to electronics... |

And just because it wouldn't exist without an electronic thing, that doesn't mean it itself is electronic. Hey, I saw a human in my TV. That makes people electric type! :D Hey, I saw a picture of a door on my monitor. That means it's made out of electricity! |

Eevee was also tech. created. It was the test subject used for the Mewtwo experiments. (According to the Manga which was heavily based off of the Game in the first set)

Well I don't think any pokemon should have their types changed they are good how they are :) |

Changing types isn't needed at all...
But, considering that there are no previous Pokemon in the Issue pokedex, this does not belong in the Black and White section. |
Gyrados will become an uber the moment he gets Water/Dragon, which is the reason why they didn't give him the typing in the first place.
Porygon is a unique case. Though it's "DNA/brain" so to speak, is constructed entirely of programming code, it's actual physical form is suspended matter. While true, Porygon-Z has psychic powers stronger (after conversion into Psychic) then Alakazam, and very intense electric abilities, it wouldn't make much sense to make the line either type, as they don't fit the specifics of either type well. Besides, Porygon has the ability to change types, something only a few Pokémon can really muster (which might be the reason why it was typed Normal in the first place). The only Pokemon I can see gets anything is Blastoise into Water/Steel. If Lucario can be Steel from three spikes, then Blastoise can with it's cannons. |

First of all, they are talking about Pokémon getting type changes in the 5th generation. This is the only 5th generation forum. Secondly, there will be previous Pokémon in Isshu once you get the National Dex. |
Oh, well sorry.
But why on earth would they change the types of Pokemon? They don't really need to. And, truthfully, I think people specializing in Video game design and know way more about Pokemon than you that work in Ninteno will know more than some teenagers on a Pokemon forum about Pokemon types. |

The only Pokémon that ever changed types that I can think of would be Pokémon like Magnemite and Magneton which were changed from Electric to Electric/Steel because of the introduction of a new type. |
Yeah, this thread has already been opened, not too long ago...
The same answers were posted before, with which I agree! I doubt they'll change something as old, and concret-solid stable as pokemon types! If those would be changed, regardless of the pokemon which desreve other typing than usual, than practically everything else would have to change! You can't have one way without the other... |

I don't think they'll Change, but do like with Magnemite and add some into secondary typing.
So far they have changed an age old Canon by giving Vaporeon a new ability, though it hasn't been confirmed that it is a permanent edited addition and holds very little to this discussion, this still leaves a very small window of possibility. Some Singular Type Pokemon can possibly get a type added to them. Though seeing as we cannot back trade, there isn't really anything that suggests that they can't change a type and keep it this way forever on. The following list is my Personal PoV ~Voltorb and Electrode can prolly join Magnemite into the Electric/Steel group. Sure it doesn't look like a steel type, but it is said that its body is made of metal. Its also used as a Battery in Pokemon Gold/Silver and the remakes. ~Kangaskhan Normal/Ground or Normal/Rock. It really does look like it would fit with ground more and hey, Nintendo seems to like tagging things onto Normal types. ~Volbeat and Illumise Bug/Electric. really I always thought they WERE Gug/Electric until I caught on in Platinum. They definitely look like electric types to me. ~Trapinch Ground/Bug. Its an Ant. How is it NOT a Bug Pokemon?! ~Chimecho and Chingling. Normal/Psychic. They look more Normal than Pyschic type. ~Glalie. Ice/Dark. Like with the Bug couple, I didn't know it wasn't a Dark type until I caught one myself. |
