Umbreon or Espeon
Ok, I'm playing Platinum. I have 1 Eevee and I want to evolve it to either Umbreon or Espeon. Which one would be better?

For in-game, espeon is better.
It hits harder and has better movepool. |
Follow polkop's advice, I have trained both Espeon and Umbreon and while Umbreon has better Sp. Defense and Defense, it has a horrible movepool.
I say espeon cuz I had one back in the day in diamond and it kick sum but !! lol
Espeon definitely, better moveset, Psychic, can learn Calm Mind, easier to play and nice Sp. atk
Although my answer will be a little biased (Espeon is my favorite all-time Pokemon), I would also say go with the Sp. Atk direction. While Umbreon is a surprising tank, Espeon packs a powerful (non physical) punch lol.
Espeon, its stronger. Not to mention better too.
I personally would pick Espeon, because of what the others have said. However, both of 'em have certain weaknesses (other than Bug), so honestly, pick the one that can balance out your team more, and one you can work with better stragety wise (if you want a staller/tank pokemon, Umbreon is the way to go. Espeon can work as a revenge Pokemon, and - apparently more commonly - a Baton Passer as well).
Espeon. It's movepool is awesome and easier to set up.
Espeon, when you get enough shards, it can cover it's dark type weakness with Signal Beam. Plus, even if you can't get it to a high enough level to learn Psychic by the E4, Psybeam is still 120 power with stab.
I like Espeon the best. And I prefer it for battling.
For Ingame Espeon, no uses tanks ect... ingame, for Competitive battling Umbreon being OU and Espeon NU
for tacktical porpuses pick UMBREON because
1.It will help againt Lucian in the E4 2.It can learn good moves Bite,Crunch,NASTY PLOT,Dark Plot,Shadow Ball, ECT. 3.IKA |
I like Dark Pokemon more, so Umbreon. xD
depends what you need really.
sweeper=espeon wall=umbreon personally i like them equally but espeon tends to be more useful |
Espeon, better moves and stronger than umbreon.
Umbreon.
(cos dark pokemon are my favourite; and umbreon is AWESOME :p) |
Umbreon. Lots of hp + Double team = doom
I love both. But I'd say I love Umbreon a little more, so yeah, I choose Umbreon. :D 'Cause this is a Dark Pokemon, and he's black too. xD I always wear black clothes, since it is one of my favorite colors. |
Although Umbreon doesn't have that many good attacks, attacks aren't everything, Dark pokemon are immune to Pyschic which are usually strong against everything, or at least have the highest SP ATK. There's tons of Status effects that come from Pyschic, stat reductions and such.
I chose Umbreon. But the problem with the Eevee forms is that you don't get them until late in the game, so they're more of Pokedex fillers, shame... |
It all depends on use.
Espeon is better in-game... what good is anything that doesn't hit fast and hard against the AI opponents? Umbreon is a better choice for the competitive scene: a good tank, as well as good typing and some fairly decent moves make it much better in the competitive game. |
Espeon if you want a sweeper with nice speed. Umbreon if you want a pretty good wall.
It really depends on what you want to do with it. I personally never have just one eeveelution... I breed with a ditto to make a team of the first 5. I tend to use Umbreon more, but Espeon really is more versatile in terms of moves.
