Kanto Starters!

http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml

Well this sounds interesting, it appears that the book released on 10th September will include passwords to use on the Global link's Dream world, which will give us
Bulbasaur/Charmander/Squirtle, but they all have new abilities. Makes a change from Torrent/Blaze/Overgrow

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 13th, 2010 10:09 AM

hmm, I wonder what they will be...Water absorb for squirtle, Flash fire for Charmander, and I'm not so sure what Bulbasaur will get...

Kirbychu August 13th, 2010 10:10 AM

Thank god, I'm sick of the common starter abilities.

These are only dream world though :), I like all abilities except for Slow start and Slacking's SA...

Perriechu August 13th, 2010 10:25 AM

I Think these abilities :
Bulbasaur : Chlorophyll/Leaf Guard
Charmander : Flash Fire/Intimidate possibly Flame Body
Squirlte : Hydration/Water Absorb/Water veil

Amore August 13th, 2010 10:26 AM

I like Glaceon with Ice Body and Vaporeon with Hydration...I can see the latter bringing about more Rain Dance into OU competitive battling, to help Vaporeon wall even more effectively

littledoug1 August 13th, 2010 10:33 AM

I sure hope they give bulbasaur a better ability because overgrow doesnt help it much in competetive battling

I swear if this is a Japan only event for Kanto starters we had better get the others.

Would be nice :D

Timbjerr August 13th, 2010 12:19 PM

I like Overgrowth for in-game purposes, especially for a pokemon with as high a Sp.Atk as Venusaur. You think it's almost dead, but Giga Drain will restore like half of it's health. XD

I'm guessing Chlorophyll for the Bulbasaur family, Flash Fire for the Charmander family, and Swift Swim for the Squirtle family. :P

MegaKuriboh August 13th, 2010 2:22 PM

I am soooooo catching Charmander i just hope they are good abilities and not Intimidate

King Gumball August 13th, 2010 3:34 PM

Yay I can get Bubasaur! And with a new ability too. I can't wait to see what the abilities are. Hope they are new ones.

Eternal Nightmare August 13th, 2010 3:51 PM

I'm fairly interested in what these abiilities will be and does this expand on to other region starters.

Maybe something old, which is more than likely true, or a newer ability to be introduced, which I'm hoping for. This is so exciting.

I'd like those abilities, actually :D.

Logiedan August 13th, 2010 4:33 PM

This will bring huge change in competitive play for people who will use those Pokémon. It'll be quite nice if they changed it into new abilities. c:

Red1530 August 14th, 2010 6:18 AM

I like the idea of having the starter Pokémon have abilities besides the current ones.

Rengoku August 14th, 2010 7:04 AM

This is cool! I'll def sr for a neat charmander :D

Kevin August 14th, 2010 7:32 AM

Oh wow. B/W sure sounds interesting. Pokemon with different abilities? I want a Charmander with Flash Fire. xD

RyanGT August 14th, 2010 9:04 AM

I like this idea. I just hope this isn't a Japan only giveaway.

xPsychosocial August 14th, 2010 9:07 AM

Blastoise with Swift Swim seems like a good ability for have in my opinion. New abilities seem like a good idea, they could add a new edge to competitive battling if they are decent enough.

Pyromaniac45 August 14th, 2010 9:20 AM

If they do the Kanto starters, I wonder if there will be a way to obtain the other starters ingame, so they have new abilities.

I think this sounds awesome.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 14th, 2010 11:19 AM

I hope they have the codes in the other dream world versions (non Japanese dream world) which I think they might have :)

kinu August 14th, 2010 11:19 AM
