New Pokeballs Thread 2

New dicussion thread for new pokeballs!!!

First one died, so i revived it

GaXeL August 16th, 2010 2:39 PM

Mixed ball, which works 2x better than an ultra ball if the targeted pokemon is 2 different type

PaxAmericana August 16th, 2010 2:44 PM

Aura Ball- Catch rate for fighting types is high

Tyxomm August 16th, 2010 2:57 PM

Copy Pasta:

I'd love an Editable Pokeball.
This pokeball would work just like a regular pokeball.
But, you will be able to change the color of the ball.
and change the flash color when a pokemon pops out of it's ball.

Note:
I hate it when "lets say" a magmar comes out of a greatball... magmar being all red and coming out of a blue flash...
it's a minor detail, but it irritates me.
It's a b*tch trying to catch every pokemon with a matching ball.

Hypno August 16th, 2010 3:13 PM

Mexiball:
For the price of a Pokeball it gets the job done like a Masterball.

Random Ball:
The catching rate is random.

Am I the only person who doesn't understand why guys like this want the games to be super, super easy?

On topic:

Nultra Ball: They're all over the place and can be bought from Marts for free, but have a 0.5% chance of catching a Pokemon when it's on Red Health and has a Status Condition. A healthy Pokemon will be next to impossible to catch with this ball. If you manage to catch a Pokemon with this ball, depending on what Pokemon it is and how healthy it was when you caught it, you can claim a prize through the means of a Nintendo event.

This would be such an awesome concept. A prize for using the ball successfully, and you get to brag to your friends that you caught something in a Nultra ball.

No. That will never happen. There is absolutely no chance of anything remotely like that happening.

:|

Why do you think they only let you get one Masterball? Because if you had more, the game would be so easy.

Anways..>__>

Yarn Ball -- 8x chance of catching a Pokemon that resembles a feline. (Meowth, Persian, Skitty, Delcatty, Glameow, Purugly..and any more if there are..)

That's a cute one :3

I'd really like some weather balls, and perhaps some that work with rain dance/sunny day.
Balls that work well in the mornings too.

A fun little bonus I'd like to see would be a Birthday Ball, an npc could give you it on your birthday. It doesn't have to have a good catch rate or anything, but just be a special little novelty. Oh! And it's got to look cool, haha.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 16th, 2010 7:52 PM

Zap ball, it paralyzes the pokemon if it escapes making it easier to capture in the second try :3

Sora's Nobody August 16th, 2010 9:41 PM

Fanfare ball: When you send a pokemon in battle out of the ball it plays a special fanfare tune.

Haha, I though I was the only one who caught pokemon with matching balls. I absolutely hate when they are caught in a masterball, too.

Pokeball/Premier Ball/Luxury Ball/Cherish Ball and others depending on the pokemon are the way to go.

Anyways, being able to change the colors of balls would be good for me. Like they keep their original pattern, but one color could be edited. IE Blue and white pokeball, white and black ultra ball, you get the idea.

Palkia August 17th, 2010 2:51 AM

Snore Ball - Has a normal catch rate, but if it doesn't capture the pokemon, it makes it fall asleep.

Item Ball - 1.5 x catch rate. It a pokemon gets captured (depending on it's catch rate.) a random item will be ganied after capturing it. (the pokemon caught won't be holding the item, but it will be in the bag.

Nerd Ball - 0.5 x catch rate. The pokemon that you used to catch the pokemon that you caught will get the experience like it defeated the pokemon.

Nurse Barbra August 17th, 2010 3:57 AM

PhantoBall - x2 if the pokemon is a part ghost type (eg spiritomb which is ghost/dark), x4 if it is a pure ghost type (eg.Gastly)

GrowthBall - Doubles the amount of XP gained for the pokemon, doesn't work if theres a pokemon holding XP share in the party.

Douball - Doubles the pokemon's lowest stat when caught (Eg. The pokemon has 44 speed so it is doubled to 88)

Friction Ball - has a 35% chance of causing burn if the pokemon escapes the ball.

austy14 August 17th, 2010 4:19 AM

I like the balls with status conditions for second try-use. Like a toxic ball! And type-specific balls for every type. That little boost seems to be just enough to catch a lot of Pokemon. I also love the idea of custimization beyond seals. Mybe season balls? One that works best in Summer, let's say, OK in spring/fall; but then bad in winter. So it works good in its season, normal pokeball in seasons around it, and badly in opposite season. Ooh, they should make a machine where you put dyes in to create your own custom Pokeball and you swirl on the touch screen to get a cool design... and you can save a couple designs and maybe even trade them with your friends? :D

Itstoppedatumbreon August 17th, 2010 9:14 AM

i want something like a weather ball
i.e a ball that has x2 catch rate if its sunny, but 0.5x if in rain.
i think the problem with a toxic ball or whatever is if you get a legendary on 1hp and all you have is toxic balls, then itll poison it and kill it if you fail

austy14 August 17th, 2010 10:52 AM

What about a rare ball that you KO a POkemon and it says "Last chance... use [KO Ball]?" and you have a good chance of cathching, but still not 100%.

PaxAmericana August 17th, 2010 12:45 PM

Everybody has AWESOME ideas, very good yall

Volroc August 17th, 2010 4:20 PM

i cant stand those status condition balls, seriously? you dont want it easy, then you basically toss away all the status condition moves for balls, just lame.

i say we should have a pokeball like the original fast ball: catches pokemon who try to run away/escape threw moves.

Well they only make it a bit more easy not by a lot...I still have trouble catching pokemon with status conditions :P
Well why not just bring back the fast ball then...

hikikker August 17th, 2010 4:35 PM

Season Balls- a group of poke balls that catch better depending on the season, it would be a cool feature that uses the new monthly season system in black and white.

We had a Dusk ball so Season balls sounds likely :)

kinu August 17th, 2010 5:36 PM

a ball that works better for psychics

Gardenia101 August 17th, 2010 5:46 PM

Poison/Burn/Parlyz/Confusion/Sleep/Freeze Ball
Double catch rate when used on a Pokemon with matching status condition.

Would work well with the condition balls ^__^

Charizard★ August 17th, 2010 7:02 PM

Ace Ball-

Ghastly isn't pure ghost type just saying
Season Ball sounds like a great idea
I also like the idea of Weather Balls
Dawn Ball: Works best in the morning, and also gains a chatch rate boost in sunlight
Legend Ball: Works best on Legendaries (better than Ultra and Dusk(at night or in a cave))
Power Ball: Works best on a pokemon with a high attack
Brick ball: Works best on Pokemon with high defense
Energy Ball: Works best on Pokemon with high spatk
ForceField Ball: Works best on Pokemon with high spdef
Health Ball: Works best on Pokemon with high HP (making Chansey a breeze to catch)
StatChange Ball *working title*: Works better the more Stat changes, positive or negative, both you AND your opponent have had.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 17th, 2010 7:22 PM

Lmao! While we're at it, the Loser Ball that has no chance of catching a Pokemon! Maybe they should make a Pokeball that adds Pokedex data but doesn't allow you to keep the Pokemon, caught or uncaught. For those impossible pokemon you want just for the Pokedex entry.

Than fewer people will catch Magikarp and just catch Gyarados then :(

iNinja August 17th, 2010 7:59 PM

Not really? does it make it more likely to see a shiny if you catch more of the same kind or something like that?

Powerflare August 17th, 2010 8:21 PM

Season Ball/Seasonal Ball: Effectivness changes between seasons. For instance 3x in summer, 2x in spring, 1.5x in fall, 1x in winter (or the other way around). Or just a random order. :P

Reverse Ball: Pokémon with higher catch rates have a lower chance of being caught, and those with low catch rates have a better chance of being caught. Only to a certain degree, however (so not like an Arceus would then have the catch rate of a Magikarp; that'd be broken). Also expensive ($3000 - $5000).

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 17th, 2010 8:23 PM

The seasonal ball would come in four colors, Azure for Spring, Vermilion for Summer, White for Fall, and Black for Winter, I'll give a cookie to however can get the reference :)

Or there could be 4 different Seasonal Balls like you say, and each would be most effective in their respective seasons, and less effective in others.

AuraGaurdian August 18th, 2010 6:03 AM

the season and weather balls seem like great ideas and powerflare I like the idea of a reverse ball seems like a cool concept.

MiniBall:Better catch rate for non-evolved pokemon.

  • UltraBall - Catch Rate 2x
DreamBall - works better on sleeping pokemon

TypeBall - works better on pokemon of the same type.
Catch Rate 2.8x, if used without matching effect Catch Rate 1x
GenderBall - works better on pokemon of the same gender.
Catch Rate 2.2x, if used without matching effect Catch Rate 1x

Beta/ProtoBall - For people who like a challange.

I guess it's good for B&W since Kurt isn't there I don't think.. :x

Sand Ball - works better in the sandstorm condition.
Catch Rate 2.5x if used on a Pokemon in a sandstorm.
Hail Ball - works better in the hail condition.
Catch Rate 2.5x if used on a Pokemon in hail.
Rain Ball - works better in the rain condition.
Catch Rate 2.5x if used on a Pokemon in rain.

Somebody mentioned a Weather Ball, but I believe it was a bit different than this..

Lol, i've never tried catching mewtwo with an ultraball.
only: Moltres/Zapdos/Articuno, Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza, Dialga/Palkia/Giratina.
Note: I caught a groudon in a pokeball in my ruby rom yesterday :P

I like the idea of a Season Ball. It sounds interesting and will have a great effect with the season feature. Or perhaps they would have seperate pokéballs for each season, making us spend more pokémoney .-.

$3000-$5000 seems a lot for a pokéball. It would be a poor choice to by 2 and the price is $6000 or $10,000. D:

I'd agree with something better than the Ultra Ball, but they have their specific order from Great to Ultra to Master already. Something like a Champion Ball would be weird. xD;

HaloSonic August 19th, 2010 6:11 AM

there should be an accumulative version of the Level Ball, which takes in account all your team member's levels, and the catch rate would be variant on that. for example, the closer your team is to Lv 100, the better the catch rate. would be good for netting legendaries. i had some other ideas, but honestly, i forgot them.

Nurse Barbra August 19th, 2010 10:33 AM

Sparkle Ball: If the pokemon is shiny the catch rate is x8, if its a normal pokemon its catch rate is x0.5
Would come in handy for pokemon that Roar/Teleport if there shiny. *coughgrowlithecough*

Miseraball: The lower the pokemons base happiness the higher the catch rate
200 = x0.25 catch rate
199 <->175 = x0.75 catch rate
174 <-> 150 = x1 catch rate
And so forth.

Very good idea, HaloSonic, good idea

Kelp August 20th, 2010 10:34 AM

Maybe not new pokeballs per se, but the option to change the colors of the pokeballs would be cool. They'd have the same capture rate, but i.e. the regular pokeball could be green instead of red on top.

Or new pokeballs altogether. That'd be cool too. ^_^

PaxAmericana August 20th, 2010 1:07 PM

still getting a lot of good ideas, keep it up yall

Ho-Oh August 20th, 2010 4:39 PM

Reshiram Man, maybe it would be best if you had some more input, rather than ask people to keep up the ideas.

As for that level ball idea, it would be nice but level 100's aren't that common in-game, so you could just really make it a legendary ball, instead.

coolnick37 August 20th, 2010 5:25 PM

if they made a love ball, XD why not make a gay ball that works the same way, but on pokemon with the same gender XD

Ho-Oh August 20th, 2010 5:53 PM

Uh... "gay ball"? Maybe just "opposite gender ball", I know that's boring, but still... "gay ball" is not likely to happen.

I think it should be called the "Rivalry Ball".
Guys and girls alike feel rivalry towards someone of the same sex from time to time, so I think it would be a good idea.

What about calling it the Nothing ball, as in non gendered :)

Livewire August 20th, 2010 10:30 PM

How about more Type-based pokeballs? as in a ball for every type?

Flame ball- fire types
Shock ball- electric types
Net- bug/water
dive- water, underwater, etc

What i really want are improved animations on all the pokeballs, like the actual net in a net ball, etc. Or improved seals/ball capsules at least

iNinja August 20th, 2010 11:19 PM

Or how about a pokeball with a color name (like green abll) and it cathes a pokemon of the same color with a higer rate then the rest. Like the "green ball" Catches a green pokemon (ehhh, like politoad even though they aren't wild just an example) at a rate a bit higher than a Ultra ball. How's that?

This would be kinda hard for some people. There are some people that are color blind and some pokemon that look like one color are categorized as a different color.

Well that would be level ball, so no need for that.
Id also like to see generation ball, it would be a ball that has higer rates whn trying to catch pokemon from the same gen. Llike G/S ball for g/s/c pokemon, color ball (gen 1 poke), gem ball (gen 3), precious ball (gen 4) and so on, or something like that :)

Zeturic August 21st, 2010 9:15 AM

Pound Ball - Works better on light Pokemon.

Ditto Ball - Works better on Pokemon that share your active Pokemon's type.

Original Ball - Opposite of the Repeat Ball; works better on Pokemon you've not caught yet. (Not the best name...)

Double Ball - Allows Pokemon to be caught in Wild Double Battles without KOing the other Pokemon or Works better on Pokemon during wild double battles.

Journey Ball - At the beginning of the game, it has 0x catch rate. After the first Gym, it has .5x. After the second, 1x. This continues all the way up until after the 8th Gym, when it will have a 4x catch rate.

Quote:

No. There's both gender unknown and ungendered Pokemon. Magneton is Gender Unkown, as in it has a gender, just not one anyone can identify, though, Entei is genderless as per its legendary status.

A KO Ball is something that will be a big assistance. Especially when it comes to legendaries, and we have no choice to make it to the last bit of HP and instead, end up having it fainting. n_n
I'd like this, but it would probably be one of those rare pokéballs if they do add something of this in the games.

This must be the 8000th time I've said this in about a week.

THE GAMES ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE A WALK IN THE PARK/MAKE LIFE EASY FOR YOU. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DIFFICULT.

That is why we don't have stuff like the 'Zap Ball' or 'Ball that is the price of a Pokeball but works like a Masterball'.

Christ almighty.

That is why we don't have stuff like the 'Zap Ball' or 'Ball that is the price of a Pokeball but works like a Masterball'.

Christ almighty.

Well I was thinking that the Zap ball should be more expensive Pokeball in the game...plus it doesn't work on Electric types nor Ground types...

PC Ball: When you catch the Pokemon and your party is full, you have the option to swap one of the Pokemon in your party for the Pokemon you just caught; the one you swap out for is placed back in the PC.

Urban ball, makes it easier to capture pokemon in urban settings :)

Kanto_Johto, calm down. These are just suggestions, most of the balls probably won't ever be real.

Though I agree about the price of the pokeball one being unrealistic though :x

I kinda don't want capturing legendaries to be easier. So.. I can't say I'm for that kind of Pokeball.
It's redundant to spend 15 mins trying to catch one after a while yes, but it fits them.

Legendaries are rare and powerful, they shouldn't be anywhere near easy to catch. </3
