How do you organize your pokemon boxes?
So,As the title ask "How do you organize your pokemon boxes?"
No matter what version game it is. Do you organize them by name, number, type or your very own way? My self in the Gen 3 i organized them by types one box would be one type, and then if there were 2 typed pokemon i deside which one i thought it fits under. But when Gen 4 came and wifi i started to think would one box be enought just for one type and with only 18 boxes i didn't want to take the chance so since then i just put them in the box as i collect them,Only box 18 is different because that is were i keep my pokemon i use. |
I used to do it by type, but that took too long, and I would run out of boxes, as gen III didn't provide me with enough. On my storage Diamond, I have them sorted by region. Platinum has fodder Pokemon (Starly, Bidoof) to trade off when I have to breed for different Pokemon for a challenge or something. There's also a box for my competitive Pokemon, a box for legendaries, a box for Pokemon that I just happen to have there, a box for Eggs, and a box for Eevee(lutions). My Emerald is really unorganized. 5 boxes are full of old Pokemon from when I used to use Sapphire for storage and when I swapped my storage to me extra Emerald, I didn't bother trying to sort them.
|
I've been using the type method, but my Water box is already full, so I may have to try a different sorting style...
|
I never actually organized them in any of the games, so my boxes were always very sloppy but I would never catch many pokémon so I wouldn't have much trouble finding any of them. I only caught and trained pokémon that I liked so I had about three boxes full usually. If I ever do start catching a lot I might try organizing by type or level.
|
I didn't start organizing until Pearl, and how I did it there was in order of the National Pokedex. Started off with Venusaur (the only member of the Bulbasaur family I have) and went down the line. Since I was raising them in order of the Pokedex, it made things easy for me to see which evolution lines I still needed to complete.
Spares and duplicates are tossed into my later boxes. Unowns have their own box, where they're set in alphabetical order. |
Mostly by elemental type, though I have separate boxes for Unowns, legendaries, egg/baby/in-training pokemon and my team. I also usually throw my HM slaves in my team box.
|
Generally, I have it by order I catch them, and then Unown sorted alphabetically in the last 2 boxes.
|
I started off all neat and tidy with my boxes.... but now I have Lvl. 100s mixed with Lvl. 2 Pidgeys.
The only remaining 'tidy' boxes are my breeding ones, when I put the 'mother' at the front with its babies. Though one box is now full of Elekids due to trying to get a certain type. |
Everything is random in my boxes. But I do put all my shinies in one box. :3
|
I never really give much thought to organizing them, to be honest. :D
Although, when I do take the time, I arrange them according to their usefulness (meaning, the probability that they could be a backup Pokemon for my current team). |
Quote:
By Nat. Dex., with a speical box for special Pokes(: |
...
Well, I used to organize them by type, but recently, I actually haven't been catching pokemon other than my main team, meaning that I currently only use one box and it's only half. (In my Platinum, I also organize my Unknown in their own box, alphabetically.) For you're situation I would, I don't know, organize them by egg group? I haven't tried it but I could imagine it could work...
|
As others have said I normally organize mine by the National Pokedex numbers like box 1 would be no.1 to 30 and so on. Then I have a box for the Unowns.
|
I have my own system which may not seem like an organized system to anybody :P
Anyway, I have a box that contains both my play-through team and my "competitive" team. Then I have a breeding box which contains specific-natured Dittos as well as a Flame Body Magmar. Another box contains Pokemon that I've gotten from others that I want to keep. Another box contains Pokemon that were breeding rejects (crap natures/IV's, etc.) that I keep on hand as trading fodder. Everything else... I just stick in random boxes. Those are truly disorganized. |
i have 3 boxs of the pokemon i am using, then the rest are for the pokemon i catch, or have more of.
|
In my young newbie days of R/B/Y and G/S/C, I really wasn't bothered about the order. Then in R/S/E and FR/LG, I did them all by type, but clearly doing it this way fails due to the limiting box sizes. Now in HG/SS, I've left it in order as I've captured them, but will probably go to ordering them via their number in the Pokedex.
|
I have boxes like this:
To Train | EV'd | IV'd |Legends | Events | My Team | Box1 onwards. I use the "my team" box for when I deposit a member and retrieve an HM slave. And Box1 onwards are just pokemon I capture. I know have them all set in National Pokedex order, with a box labelled "extras" for multiples. |
I organize them by Favorites and Legendaries.
And there are is a special box for Eggs. |
I've never really felt the need to organise the boxes, the Pokémon stored in them are usually in the order I caught them in.
|
I don't order them, they just fill up from 1 to whatever.
Pokemon I frequently use get put in the last box, again however with no order. Unown and eggs get the next two boxes down from the last. |
I just use type, but some types get ignored, and go in the 'other' box. I used to have a fave box as well, but I replaced it with 'rare' and that's where I shove my legendaries that I don't use. I also have a box called 'Eggs', that's filled with eggs... most of which I don't know what they are. Plus a box labelled 'Trading' for pokes I'm gonna trade.
|
I once tried doing that. I arranged all my pokemon on the basis of their type, but later on when i caught and traded more and more pokemon, all the boxes got messed up again. xD So I'm not going to do that ever again.
|
By importance.
Pokémon I often use go into Box 1, Pokémon I'm training go in Box 2, Pokémon I use for breeding go into Box 3, Pokémon I've finished training for the Pokédex/baby pokémon/eggs/useless pokémon go into Box 4-18(? I think that's the right amount of boxes?) |
i do it by types
but some of them have multiple types like my rock/steel/ground or dragon/flying box and after a box gets too full like water types, i move some of them based on their second type |
I don't, which eventually becomes annoying later on when I have 10+ boxes full and I'm trying to look for a single pokemon.
|
I sorted my boxes by type as far back as Gen 2. Had to combine types sometimes but it worked.
I started doing the same in Diamond until I decided to do a living Pokédex. So I ordered my boxes by National Dex number... and left a space for each Pokémon. It was great for organization since so long as I had a rough idea of where a Pokémon was, I could easily find it. Only issue was it gave me only one and a half boxes for doubles, eggs, etc. D: But I kept with it until recently when I gave up on the living Dex & transferred all my Pokémon onto Ranch anyway. (And now my boxes go "Team Members", "Legendaries", and then about 6 boxes of Cherubi. :D) I have no rhyme or reason to my organization in HG or Platinum. Things are just tossed haphazardly into the boxes until it switches to the next box. |
Because I tend to not keep an abundance of Pokemon, I just leave them in any random order in the first few boxes, but I do keep a special Unown box with all of them in it. In Sapphire, however, I had all of my boxes sorted out by level, with a box for my newly captured Pokemon before they went into sorting.
|
Only one thing, random and random, In HGSS I just drag 'em and wherever I drop 'em!
|
Boxes 1 & 2 - Random Pokemon
Box 3 - Ledgendaries Box 4 - Pre-Dex party Box 5 - Post-Dex captures |
You use the same strategy I use basically.
I'm a person who LOVES to make monotype teams for fun battles with my friends and I often find myself making one of these teams then I put them all together in one box row and then most other pokemon of the shared element I stick into the rest of that pc box. Then I switch the background to something appropriate. |
Pokemon Box Organization? I usually have the first box set for Pokemon obtained by trades through GTS and normal trading, plus any Pokemon Eggs I have. The last box numbered is for the Unowns I get to complete the set. The boxes numbered before the box with Unowns are for my Legendaries and Pokemon I use regularly.
Every other box between 2 and 14-15 are free game. |
I tried to do the Type thing but it didn't worked well after the 1st box of Flying was full.
Tried with Level, but had the same problem. So now, I only do "Box 1 for legendaries" and put the rest together. Like, all Rhyhorns in the same row, all Eeves on the other, etc. |
I like 1 to 493, or 386, depending of the game!
|
Normally, I don't organize my boxes. But at other times, I made "Unown," "Synchronize" and "Egg" boxes so that I won't get confused about the Pokemon I actually catch and the Pokemon I use for catching/novelties.
|
I usually place 'special' Pokemon in the last box (party members, HM slaves, Pokemon in-training, legendaries) and throw everything else into the other boxes, starting from box 1 and moving up as I fill each box.
Not really organised, but I'm still usually able to find whatever I need. |
I usually have the pokemon I actually use all the time in the first (and/or second box). I'll have my in game team (not EV trained) and HM slaves in the top row or so and then organize my other teams at the bottom. Then after that I organize by lvl. Like 20's in one box 30's in another 40/50 in another and so on :]
|
I usually don't organise my boxes, but in SS, I have a box for my backup team and party pokemon, so when I get my Slugma out to hatch eggs, and I deposit one of my party pokemon,I don't have to look through 7 boxes to find it again. Though I'm gonna organise it by type.
(Logs off computer to organise boxes by type) |
box 1-16 for pokemon 1-480, 17 for the final ones and different formes that will not change in battle, and box 18 for Unown.
|
Right now I am sorting like......
NU UU BL OU Uber Unowns IV-Bred UT |
I usually just sort my boxes by types and name the boxes accordingly. Makes things a ton easier if I'm looking for a specific type of Pokemon to drag around with me.
I also have a super special box entitled Lazy for when I'm too lazy to organize Pokemon I just got. It got full so I had to make a Lazy 2. |
I just stuff my Pokemon in there. In fact, I rarely catch enough Pokemon in a run to fill a box.
|
I sort them by levels, then have some boxes for my rares, team, and my pikachu.
|
I have mine by theme and picture :)
So I have a beach box that is called "beach" with the background and then things like Wingull, Krabby, Spheal. I like it when things are organised! |
I organize the first few boxes as PTWOMT (Pokemon That Were On My Team), incase I wanna use them again. Legendaries (For Legendaries obv). Shinies (For my shines.. Even though there's like 7). Eggs (For eggs I couldn't be bothered hatching). And then the remaining boxes for all the types. :3
|
I have all my Legendaries in the back, then in Box 1 I just sorta put stuff in there for now.
In box two I have all my Pokes that I beat the E4 with, whenever they aren't in my team. Box 3 is nearly empty, and Box 4 has a bunch of Chimchar I was breeding trying to get a specific nature. Box 5 has my Competetive pokes in it, or atleast in progress pokes... Then box 6 has the monotype team(s) I've started on building just for fun. |
I have my boxes organized by type and importance. When I run out of space for say water pokemon I'll make a waters II, and when I want to deposite one of my party pokes I put it in the special box w/ the other party pokes, strong pokemon and legendaries.
|
I always have a shiny and legend box. I used to organize by types but now I bust can't be bothered.
|
I usually organize them by types. It makes it a lot easier for me to navigate.
|
Type. I've rarely bothered to organise my boxes though. It's only when I've completely conquered the game and have nothing else to do that I start collecting Pokemon.
|
In some games, I have one of each species and put them in pokedex in order. In other games, I only have final evolved pokemon in pokedex order in my pc as well as boxes for my baby pokemon, shiny pokemon and unown forms.
|
Once I can see the National number on the stat screen, I go by that. Otherwise I use regional numbering, however, I only organize at all in Gens III and IV. It's too hard to do before that. I use Box 14 for alternate formes, duplicates and events. (I'm still hoping for Pokemon Box D/P)
|
1-493
I will catch em' all!!!! And the last box is for multies |
well I raise all my pokemon - except unknown and ditto - so I have my boxes ordered to make this possible.
starting with box 18. this box I name "NEWBIES" because I make sure I close the pc in that box. so, when I catch a pokemon, it goes there and I can sort it from that box into the box it belongs in. I put this box in box 18 so that I can see boxes 1-6 at one time (when you move boxes, it shows six at a time up top, you know). the rest of my pokemon I organise into boxes 1-6. see a pattern there? yeah, there's six pokemon to the party. so I take one pokemon from each box and that's my party. I put my pokemon in the boxes based on typing. so in each box, one type matches the other types for that box because the two types are close, etc. when a pokemon in my party levels up I replace it with a lower leveled one from it's corresponding box. that way, I raise all my pokemon at once at all the same level. ------------------------------------------------ MY BOXES: 1. psychic, ghost, dark 2. rock, ground, steel, normal, fighting (the last two I had alone in box 6 but then I found I needed a lone box for the flying-types so I put them in this box and the flyings are alone) 3. water, ice (only if they can surf. if they can't, they're probably dual typed so I put them in another box (i.e. smoochum box 1. all pokes here have to know surf. surf is an important hm so it always needs to be in my party) 4. grass, bug, poison 5. fire, electric, dragon 6. flying (all pokemon here can fly, another important hm. all flying types are dual typed so if a flying type can't fly I put it in its other type's box (i.e. natu box 1, mantine box 3, etc) ----------------------------------------------------------- there's more. I use the next six boxes, 7-12, for "DONE" boxes. starting at lv 20, every five levels I have the option to stop raising a pokemon in box 1-6. but that's only if the pokemon has fully evolved. if it had not evolved at say lv 20 but does at lv 21, I still have to raise it until lv 25. then if I want to stop I can put it in it's corresponding "DONE" box (these are orgainized just like boxes 1-6). . for example, mr. mime Really annoyed me. but I couldn't stop raising him 'till lv 20, at which point I gladly put it in the done box. another example: my beedrill. it's pretty weak and at lv 20 I thought about getting rid of it. but it wasn't a total fail like mr. mime; I could bear with it for another 5 levels until 25, at which point I'm thinking I'll probably put it in the done box. . my goal is to raise every poekmon as long as possible. every five levels I'll drop a few into the "DONE" box, and narrow down to my stronger ones. by lv 40 or so I plan to have six good, solid, strong pokes in each box. I don't think I ever want to get smaller than six per box. it's a good veriety and makes the game worth playing to lv 100! anyway, for the other five boxes in my pc. I don't really use them for too much. well, maybe I do. one's a totodile box in which I put all my baby totodiles (I started the game with a female totodile, lucky me :D, so I made a bunch of babies for trading purposes (I need those version exclusives, etc that I can't get in the game on my own). oh and my ditto, for baby-making use. so it's like a tool box, if you will. another box is for the 24 unknowns I've caught (don't have ! and ? yet). another is for junk pokemon that I accidentally catch in the safari zone or bug catching contest or get in trades, that I use for the nice people who trade freebies :D. and two boxes I just don't use. that's it! . . . |
I have type boxes in SS. If a box gets full I just put some of the dual types in the box corresponding to their other type.In DPPt I just throw my Pokemon in any box.
|
Currently in HG... I don't know how to describe it. I'll just list what boxes I have.
Legendary Eevees Temporary KFull(Kanto fully evolved) JFull HFull SFull KNon(Kanto not fully evolved) JNon HNon SNon Overflow Other It makes it easier for me when I'm trying to fill the Pokedex. |
Before GenIII, I stored them as I got them, but then started storing them by type, but was not given enough boxes, so in GenIV, I either store as I get them, by type, by color, or my most recent idea, by level, so my strongest pokemon are easy to find.
|
Hmm..
Well, for me it's sometimes organized by type or if their a starter or the area their located in. |
I've always organized them by type.
|
I have a designated box for my Grass types, all the others are just random junk I've picked up along the way =P
Haha. Maybe once my collection builds up a little more I'll try a little harder to keep things more organized! |
I usually like to store my Pokemon in types but I haven't really got round to doing that on my recently started game on Pearl.
|
I usually have a box for Kanto pokemon, another for Johto and so on for the ones that aren't trained yet, and then I have one for bred pokemon and another for the ones above level 50.
|
I orginize mine by EVd uber, EVd OU, EVd UU, EVd NU, IVd, and junk pokemon :)
|
I do it on types, I also have a box for shiny pokemon and legendarys.
|
Well, I never really 'collect' Pokemon for the Pokedex information, so by end game, I normally only have 5-6 pokemon in a box, so I keep them all in box one.
|
At first, I just had a box for my teams, breeding, eggs, and trading. But once I found PC, I started to reorganize my boxes into:
- Team - Shiny/Legendary - Breed - Eggs (x2) - "Garbage" (x4) - Keepers (Pokemon that need to be trained) - Chain (Umbreon and Espeons with different natures) |
Quote:
Right now I'm naming and changing the wallpapers of my boxes to number categorize my pokemon. So my first box would be Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizards, Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastios and so on. |
I never organise, just put the inside!
|
I organize them from the most important to the least important, so that means all the Pokémon I plan on using are in the first box while the rest just stay back in the others.
|
I only organize when I have time and when I feel like it.
|
When it comes to organizing my boxes in every game I get very very OCD. Each box is one type, though usually I put ground and rock together and grass and bug together because they match.
The type boxes are in alphabetical order. Inside the boxes the pokemon are placed in alphabetical order also. The only thing that breaks that pattern is when it comes to the evolution line. One box is solely used for legendary pokemon, while the last boxes are used for eggs, multis, shinies, and HM slaves. They are also put into alphabetical order. The legendaries however are put in order from their appearance in the games in general.. like the bird trio would be before the legendary beast trio. |
In no particular order other than guaranteed order...
#1: UNOWN (one of each of the 28, and Baltoy & Claydol) #2: DESERT (theme; Sandstorm related stuff, Onix/Steelix, Dunsparce, some fossils, Skarmory, Trapinchies) #3: LEGENDS (5 Gen One, 5 Gen Two, 9 Gen Three, and 11 Gen Four (Manaphy, Phione, Heatran boxed elsewhere)) #4: Seafloor (deep sea fishies, fossils, Dratini, Manaphy/Phione) #5: Seashore (ocean surface stuff, beachy things, shellfish and crustaceans) #6: River (more water stuff with some inland stuff like Farfetch'd) #7: Forest (basic Grasses, some bugs, Sudowoodo) #8: Jungle (different Grasses, some bugs) #9: Farm (farm animals, crop related things, some dogs and cats) #10: Iceberg (Ice types and some Thick Fat and Clear Body) #11: City (Psychics, Ghosts, and some Poisons) #12: Sky (birds and flying Pokemon #13: Starters (most starters, some boxed elsewhere) #14: Volcano (Fires and some Rocks) #15: Cave (Rocks, Zubat, Wobbuffet, Ursaring, Salamence, Sableye, Steels) #16: Trades #17: D.U.D.'s (stands for: "Daycare (projects), Unorthodogs (HM Slave Smeargle), and Dittto") #18: ??? (stuff uncertain of where to shaft get put here) Evolved Pokes are moved towards the box tops. |
Right now I'm organizing them like you would do for pokemon cards. Like my "orange" box would be filled with ground, rock, and fighting types and my purple box would be filled with ghost, psychic and poison. I also have a box called "new" were all the new pokemon I catch go into temporarily, a "team" box were I have my teams stored, and a rare box filled with shiny and legendary pokemon.
|
I'll usually organize my PC boxes by Type, Events, and EV'd Pokémon. Then I'd make sure the background for each box match their titles accordingly. Right now, however, the only game I have that's actually organized is Diamond. My Platinum, SoulSilver, and White aren't as neatly placed yet; mostly because I'm currently replaying SoulSilver and I plan to restart Platinum and White again afterward and also because I never got around to doing it. /lazy
|
My boxes in my HeartGold version is a total mess lol, boxes are really not organized and I got like 12 boxes that are full, so It's a real hassle to find the Pokemon I'm looking for.
In Diamond tho, I got my boxes organized by Pokemon. Since I use that game for my trading thread, I put each starter in a specific box. Same goes for my White version, but I have an extra box for my Dream World Pokemon. |
This thread was active in the best year ever, but died then. So let's not post in it. Plus, I think there's a 2013 version of this floating around. :)
