The New Battle Zone...

Just wondering, what did you guys think of the major graphical overhaul given to the Battle Zone for Platinum.

I personally think it's just...wrong. I mean, sure, it's slightly better than what it looked like before. But what it looked like before was more appropriate. Sinnoh's in the north. Battle Zone is level with Route 216, Acuity Lakefront and Snowpoint City! It shouldn't be tropical!

To tell the truth, the Battle Zone looks like it belongs in Hoenn. Of course, it's even worse with the Battle Frontier Entrance in Johto....but that belongs in the section above this one.

So, love it, hate it, indifferent, angry like me, don't care? What's your opinion?

I personally think it's better than before. And as for the Tropical Part that you don't like, there IS a volcano on that island, which could heat it up significantly.

I'm of the opinion that the road to Snowpoint is at a fairly high elevation, which would account for the colder climate. Of course, then there's the issue of the bit of snow around Twinleaf and vicinity, which is nowhere near Snowpoint...

Like said before, there is a volcano on the island. Look at Iceland, normally it would be covered in ice all the time just like Greenland, but it's a volcanic island, so it's not.

And Twinleaf is the only town besides Snowpoint with snow. :(

I personally love the new graphics. :/

I'm just satisfied that it looks so much better.

Beside, wasn't still kind of tropical in D/P?

Here is a picture of the differences:

Lol. I understand about the volcano bit...but Iceland isn't "tropical" is it? It actually has no trees..:P

I overall do like the upgrade, don't get me wrong. However it seems wrong to be tropical. I mean, in Platinum they need an ice-breaker ship to get there because there's lots of sea-ice in the way...if anything, there should be some snow...

i have yet to get to the battle zone =/

Since the main character is wearing winter clothes, they just feel wrong in the Battle Zone's tropical environment. Other than that, the new design is okay for me.

I understand the volcano situation. Maybe that's why it heats up the island. =3
But I like it that way. =D Maybe Regigigas at the Temple froze up the northern part of the actual Sinnoh region.

I haven't seen the D/P Battle Zone (^besides the picture^). The Platinum one suits the "foreign setting."

There are several programs you can use to film, one I suggest to use is fraps. It is pretty good when it comes to filming things. though it does take some space.

I actually found Platinum a major improvement to the plain DP design. Since the Battle Zone is supposed to be "far away" (something like the Sevii Islands), even if it is close to Sinnoh on the world map, palm trees and stuff totally suit it.

In case of which you didn't know, Stark Mountain got lava pools outside. =D I can't really link to a photo, but... google it.
