Steelix or Aggron

which is better to use for serious battling? i'm thinking steelix, but his moveset isn't that good.

BigBoss November 23rd, 2004 4:41 PM

I prefer Aggron, but I don't know much about either of them, so I don't really know.

lizardman November 23rd, 2004 4:44 PM

AGGRON!!!!its a good pokemon with high defense,and attack.it is good against:electric,ground,rock,and steel.

Frostweaver November 23rd, 2004 5:34 PM

By default and obviously, Steelix. Is it really necessary to have a x4 weakness to brick break and earthquake, which is absolutely everywhere? Poor Aggron...

Yeah and Pikachu can beat any pokemon =D... I swear, everyday another ingame fool shows up in this forum... We need to keep them out, or atleast keep there mouths shut.

lizardman November 23rd, 2004 6:03 PM

what did u say DuDe?!?!?!?!?!

Frostweaver November 23rd, 2004 6:10 PM

another word, Spike means:

"At least do some basic research that Steel/Rock doesn't resist electric attacks, and is certainly stumped by any incoming earthquake. Get the types sorted out first."

Steelix is obviously the better monster. No need to quibble over it.

lizardman November 23rd, 2004 6:12 PM

well it was not right calling me a fool.i was 1 of the best PKMN game players in TX.

In simplier terms, I'll sum that up to "I'm arrogant."

Basic type matchup is elementary, even for ingame battles... someone who messes up this simple type combination question and being the best at the same time? Pure irony and extreme sarcasm, with a slight scent of oxymoron in the air...

Anyone who played competitively (NB or offline) can tell how the x4 ground/fighting hurts way too much for Aggron to be used that much at all...

lalala~~

You should give him the benefit of the doubt, frostweaver. Maybe Texans just can't play Pokémon... And someone five years your former will outsmart you. Ironic. Perhaps, satirical.

The problem is not the fact that he messed up his type, but his response to how someone corrected him (regardless of how).

And shouldn't be so hot tempered. Be it in life or a Pokemon battle, being so easily ticked off will result in a terrible consequences. Just because that Sceptile is ticking you off beyond no end with the annoying sub-seed strategy, don't be acting on your anger and just switch to random objects...

Angel 0f Chaos November 23rd, 2004 7:19 PM

Steelix, hands down. Steel/Ground is a better dual-type than Rock/Steel, and Steelix's movesets complement his stats better than they do Aggrons. That and Steelix looks 10x better than Aggron!

Spike Razzor November 23rd, 2004 7:29 PM

If hes one of the best in Tx, which is prob a lie, then I feel sorry for your state... I'm not a Aggron hater or anything, I use it on 3 of my NB teams. One is CBed and the others are Sub Punchers.

((If anyone is around, tell me how to get a Choice Band without codes? Someone told me to go to the Battle Tower and keep playing, but so far I gotten are Stat boosters.))

You have to keep beating it consecutively to get better items.

IceKitten November 24th, 2004 5:11 AM

I'd say Steelix, I don't usually use Pokémon with a 4x weakness, apart from my Breloom in Emerald

Kholdstaire November 24th, 2004 6:52 AM

OMG USE AGGRON PLZ!

More HP, More Defense, more Normal Type haxxage, more MOVES!

-Thunderwave
-Sub
-Focus Punch
-Cock Slide

T-Wave it up, Sub, then FP them to death. FP also on the switch. Cock Slide to Flinch them while they have PAR.

Shuckle November 24th, 2004 7:04 AM

Again go with Kholds set.

Mana Lugia November 24th, 2004 9:40 AM

Khold, PC doesn't like the mention of Roosters, apparently some people misinterpret roosters to mean something else >_>

Anyways, Aggron is usable, but mostly on a UUer team, where you'd prolly go with Khold's set. I'd personally use Steelix if it was a serious team though, cuz I have no prediction skillz.

STFU YOU IDIOT! DON'T USE THOSE KIND OF WORDS, THERE ARE KIDS ON THIS FORUM!

Aggron with T-wave and sub makes no sense... By then you have taken alot of damage and have no HP to sub. And Rockslide has a 30% chance of flinch, so depending on it would be really stupid.

Shuckle November 24th, 2004 3:31 PM

that was very mature. ;D *more character more characters*

Frostweaver November 24th, 2004 4:06 PM

Actually, Aggron barely gets scratched if it's hit by physical attacks that's not ground/fighting. It's too rare to be true, but if it is true, then you have tons of time to pull off twave then sub then punch.

Mana Lugia November 24th, 2004 6:52 PM

I guess I see the irony in having STFU and WE HAVE KIDS IN THIS FORUM in the same sentence as well, Alex ._.

On topic, Aggron has god like D. Too bad about the type though.

lol He has god liek D because he has those weaknesses. Nintendo was probably making him and was like 'what? up that there D, a lot'

Deaths Jaws November 25th, 2004 4:55 AM

lol go with steelix..looks better, absorbs physical attacks like no-ones busyness and hey it looks SO much cooler...just watch out for magneton with either one you end up choosing...he will pwn either and you cant switch out either.

just my 2 cents worth

Jaws...

Shuckle November 25th, 2004 6:21 AM

Aggron with Quake and lix with Quake > Magneton. =/ Magneton doesnt have levitate, YET.

Mana Lugia November 25th, 2004 8:15 AM

lol, I thought nintendo tried to go for a ripoff of Rhydon and failed miserably, but hey, your call.

Steelix and Aggron have generally a bit different in terms of roles for a team. Lix can pseudohaze so much better, but Aggron has Focus punch :O

Shuckle November 25th, 2004 8:17 AM

in GSC Steelix is the only phazer I fear. Due to Hyper Beam > Steel.

lol

Kholdstaire November 25th, 2004 9:29 AM

OMG Blur, your sig roxxors my boxxors =0

Anyway, Steelix's HP<poop<Aggron's HP

Mana Lugia November 25th, 2004 10:26 AM

Alex, you forgot Skarmory. Skarm, if in a team, is always sent against a Scizor, since the only thing they can do is switch, or maybe reversal which is kinda stupid.

lol I guess I did. But that guy usually dies pretty quickly.

Kholdstaire November 26th, 2004 4:28 PM

Scizor says HIE to Fireblast =x

Shuckle November 27th, 2004 10:53 AM
