Amore how about I start a new topic for us to talk about?
What's your favourite dragon type Move, and why? |
When it comes to originality, Dragonbreath. It reminds you of a dragon's ability to breathe fire, but it's really a Dragon move. If you ask me, this should have been the strongest Dragon move.
The move I use mostly is Dragon Dance. It's my Feraligatr's key move, that will allow him to sweep in an awesome fashion once I finish my Shoddy Battle Pokémon Lab team. In-game, it's Dragon Claw. Good base power, perfect accuracy and reasonable PP make this move perfect for in-game sweeping. |
Draco Meteor.
Has to be said, that thing has an awesome animation and name. The animation in PBR when my Dialga used Draco Meteor almost tempted me to keep that abomination of a game (as did Hyper Beam coming from Magmortar's cannons). Also, despite the setback, it's so damn powerful, even Dragonite, whose Special Attack is his worst (or second worst, can't remember) stat, can dent most steel-types with a Draco Meteor. Finally, the fact that it's exclusive to dragon-types is awesome. |
Same with Amore, it has to be Draco Meteor. It's even funnier when Ash's Gible tries to learn it in the anime. xD
|
What's your favourite dragon type Move, and why?
Dragon Claw. Always loved it, always will. |
Before Dragon Claw came around, it has always been Dragonbreath because of its chance to paralysis. (which has helped on a couple of occasions) Ever since Gen 3, it became Dragon Claw because of the reasons that takllab explained. (Plus it was invaluable during the Battle Mode of Colosseum)
Dragonbreath is still second favorite for those that can't learn Claw and/or for the early part of the game. Although I still have yet to test out Dragon Pulse, which I plan to on my Dialga. Draco Meteor is ok, but I only find it good as a last-ditch effort to me. But I never used it outside of my Diamond version, and when I'm with my friends, I don't ever have my team ready in my G-4 games to be able to test the move on even ground. I need to get PBR, though, since then it gives me some use of my soon-to-be team in SS. |
What's your favourite dragon type move, and why?
I would say Dragon Pulse. It's just an all around decent move with no real drawback. |
Well I guess I should answer this topic aswell...
My favourite Dragon type move is: Outrage! Not for it's power but because it was Dragonite's signature and exclusive move until the 4th gen! Sure it has the confusion drawback, but 99% of your opponents wouldn't last two turns in which Dragonite would get confused! Spoiler:
Dragonite + Outrage = Epic Combo! |
Did you draw that, draggy?
Outrage is one of the most awesome moves in the games too, but my problem with it is that it might have been Normal as well. I mean, why is it Dragon? It must actually be the hardest for Nintendo to make Dragon Moves. They're just plain physical attacks with nothing special, but used by dragons. Because I now feel unnecessarily obliged to share my opinion about all Dragon moves, I'll just do so. Double Chop (new move): Why is this Dragon and not Fighting? Draco Meteor: Don't get me wrong, one of the best moves out there, but again, 'why Dragon?' Dragonbreath: Yes. A great reference to dragons breathing fire, but in its own element, and it has been given a great twist by making it able to paralyze. Dragon Claw: A Dragon Slash. How can a Slash be Dragon? Dragonized nails..? You get my point. Very practical move though. Dragon Pulse: I don't get this. Water Pulse is a ring of water shot at the opponent, Dark Pulse some kind of evil wave... But I don't know how to imagine a 'Dragon Pulse'... But also very practical. Dragon Rage: The very first Dragon move. Awesome early on, but pointless late-game. And again, why Dragon? Dragon Rush: Why Dragon, and it misses too much. Dragon Tail (new move): Like a Roar that hurts. But again... Outrage: Great attack, no one can last against this and the setback is easily curable. But wai dragon? Roar Of Time: I'd make this Stellar type if it existed. And Hyper Beam variations always suck. Spacial Rend: Stellar type too. This move would be cool IF IT WEREN'T FOR ITS LOW PP. Twister: Flying type much? Dragon Dance: Yesh, the most awesome boosting move for physical sweepers ever. Oh god I'm so idealistic... |
I would like to join!
Should Tyranitar be a Dragon? I feel it should, because it resembles a dragon. |
Welcome!
But please, replace the second part of your post with something related to the topic of dragon-type moves, before you start them all off again:P...just makes life less voting-oriented, that's all. You've been added to the member's list. Btw guys, has the dragon pokemon challenge died? Or just hidden... |
I've been working on it at a snail's pace, so it's not like it died...at least not to me anyways. I don't have much progress in it at all since I haven't been able to load the game up that much.
|
Like I said, I lost my mojo...
But when I find it, I'll finish it in two days tops! |
Still had no chance to get started... I was going to start today, but Amsterdam's public transportation was really annoying.
I'll start tomorrow! |
My fav dragon move? It would have to be draco meteor. It's powerful, doesn't missthat often, and it's only drawback is the sp.atk lowerage(? Is that a word?) I will disagree with tkallab on one thing though: what other type of pokemon could summon meteors from the sky? Flying: no, grass: no, psycic: maybe(if it had ninja skills, but only dragons can learn it in game) other wise, I agree about the other moves.
Welcome new ppls. I would do the dragon race, but I don't feel like restarting my ss (only 46 hours logged, but already cought lugia, ho-oh, mewtwo, zapdos, and suicune) and I might do it on my pearl after I trade all my lv.100's over to ss (Im gonna need to catch alot of unknown) |
Still didn't start today, replayin' mah Ace Attorneys and Professor Laytons in celebration of their upcoming collaboration. Maybe tomorrow..?
|
Topic #1: Maybe I'll start tomorrow the challenge and record it on my computer (my DS is still broken but that's off-topic).
Topic #2: Like most people say, mine's Draco Meteor. Maybe I'm attracted to Hyper Beam-like moves. Off Topic: I thought I was the only person here that played both games. |
I think Draco Meteor is only useful in a pinch. It doesn't have that much PP and it lowers your stats. So it can be like your last resort... Not very useful in-game, to say the least.
And Phoenix Wright vs. Professor Layton is gonna be awesome! |
I never was a fan of the hyper beam-like moves in the game, they were powerful, yes, but in matching against friends/ in stadium, I find myself always getting pummeled while recovering, so it never was reliable enough for me.
Then again, I dislike most 2-turn moves unless one of the turns helps give you some sort of immunity. (I like solarbeam out of the 2-turn moves, though, but only when it's on a Ground. That's besides the point though.) As for Draco Meteor, I just simply can't find myself using a ton of moves that despite powerful, bring your stats down to near-useless. But that's just me. I'm one to usually stick with ol'reliable then to use a higher power counterpart with a cost. And yes, PL vs PW is indeed going to be awesome, I can tell that and I still haven't gotten around to playing the PL games as of yet, but I'm a BIG fan of Ace Attorney here. Curse you Capcom, I will force you to stateside this one even if it means having to infiltrate your headquarters. |

So I think we need a new topic. Actually, we haven't exactly had a vote in a while.
But for now, which dragons would you consider the most evil and most heroic? As for what I'd say, I wouldn't consider Giratina evil, because the Pokedex says it was banished for being too violent (or something along those lines). I would consider Tyranitar evil, since it actually has the dark type in it. I think that the Lati's could be the heroic ones, or even Rayquaza. |
Well I consider Palkia and Dialga evil!
In fact I hate them and I agree that ve should vote(kick them out)! And most heroic, I'd say Lati's and my beloved Dragonite! |
Evil= Salamance, Dialga, Rayquaza, Palkia, Giratina
Heroic= Dragonite, Latios, Latias. |
I'm afraid I'm having to go with Dragonite as "heroic", after all, look at its' pokedex entries:
"It is said that this Pokémon constantly flies over the immense seas and rescues drowning people." "It is said to make its home somewhere in the sea. It guides crews of shipwrecks to shore." Lugia is another: "It is said that it quietly spends its time deep at the bottom of the sea because its powers are too strong." "It is said to be the guardian of the seas. It is rumored to have been seen on the night of a storm." Tyranitar has to be bad, by this: "Extremely strong, it can change the landscape. It has an insolent nature that makes it not care about others." Salamence, I don't think is either heroic or evil. I think it's so uncontrollable and violent because it's so extremely happy at finally flying, but can't control its' powers. Gyarados is like Tyranitar: "It has an extremely aggressive nature. The Hyper Beam it shoots from its mouth totally incinerates all targets." "Rarely seen in the wild. Huge and vicious, it is capable of destroying entire cities in a rage." "It is an extremely vicious and violent Pokémon. When humans begin to fight, it will appear and burn everything to the ground with intensely hot flames." Although it could be, by the last entry listed above, simply trying to get us all to quit (luckily, Milotic was invented some time, enabling some conflicts to be calmed non-violently. And for all others, there's pokedex holders). |
Heroic Dragons: Lati's, Dragonite, Charizard, and my beautiful Salamence <333
Evil Dragons: Giratina, Gyrados and Aerodactyl <333 |
Quote:
Even tho it has side affects, its beastly nonetheless. |
A species of Pokémon can't be good or evil by design; an individual can, but I'm not gonna discriminate an entire kind of Pokémon based on looks. Gyarados may look like a bad guy, but isn't he just looking for food and protecting it's territory? Is a bear evil? Is a shark evil? Carnivores, yes, and potentially dangerous, but to call that evil.... The only beings capable of being evil are those with a conscience, or if I may, intelligent beings. Dragonair and Dragonite, Flygon, Latias and Latios... Maybe Rayquaza, Dialga and Palkia and Giratina, though I'm not sure whether they are conscientious or not. Dialga and Palkia seem fairly neutral tome, and I don't believe that lore about Giratina being banished, he was always there. And to be hones, Rayquaza is probably just a big brute like Gyarados.
Rant over. Professor Layton and the Unwound Future made me cry three times in total. |
tkallab is right, I think Pokémon are neutral and most of their "evil" deeds are because they are either innocent pranks that got out of control, that they are aggressive or because they are only obeying their Trainers.
But if I had to choose heroic and evil dragons, here are mine: Heroic: Dragonite, Lugia (normal), Flygon, [email protected], Garchomp, Dialga (normal), Palkia, Ononokus, Reshiram Neutral: Charizard, Kingdra, Salamence, Rayquaza (normal), Giratina (Altered Forme), Kyurem Evil: Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Tyranitar, Lugia (shadow), Rayquaza (shiny), Dialga (Primal), Giratina (Origin Forme), Sazandora, Zekrom Why is Lugia a Dragon? |
Agreeing with shininglatios about agreeing with tkallab, who wouldn't agree about that agreement?
Still, to be on topic: heroic: [email protected](duh), lugia, dragonite, giratina(both forms, Shining, youre pretty picky about that) evil: gyrados(if it were real it would most likely attempt to eat you), tyranitar, shadow lugia(epic looking, but evil nonetheless) |
zapdos926: Yes, I was being picky, I only did that because either the shiny or normal version looked more evil than the other.
|
Lugia is a dragon for the same reason Charizard is one, actually. Discussion of a long time ago... But I'd like to point you to this file.
|
@zapdos926 Lugia is a soft spot for tkallab, so I'd watch carefully what I say on the topic! ;)
|
It's not a soft spot, it's a religion!
|
If that's the case, then pray my friend! :D
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/Raptor12284/Pokemon/Lugia1-1.jpg |
All hail to the guardian of the sea!
|
*in british accent*I do say chap, that is quite sad if it's a religion. *removes bubble pipe from mouth* elementary tkallab, that such a creature, as magnificent as it is, can not be a religion, unless you formed a cult. That would be even more sad.*British rant over*
(off topic) I just saw marmaduke, cute, but cheesy. |
[fingerpoint]Objection![/fingerpoint] *deskslam* I'm afraid there's a huge contradiction in your statement! You said Lugia itself was a religion, *zoom* but a creature itself cannot be a religion! *taps evidence* You believed the defendant was referring to Lugia itself being a religion, because you were uninformed about this religion. *puts evidence away* Lugia is the Guardian of the Sea, it's only natural that some people would believe him to be a god. This is not necessarily a cult, because it's part of Ecruteak's mythology. *deskslam* These myths... *points finger* Known throughout most of Johto and Kanto!
That was fun. But yeah, there are probably some crazy people who would believe Lugia and Ho-Oh to be gods. I'd be one if I lived in Ecruteak city. |
Quote:
|
If you consider certain facts of the movie to work into the games, then one can say that the Bird trio is to Lugia like how the Cat trio is to Ho-Oh. Since something happened to the cat trio and Ho-Oh was able to save them, one can probably assume that being Ho-Oh's opposite and something of happened to the bird trio then Lugia may be able to do the same thing... But this is just me assuming things again.
|
Acctually Ho-oh created the legendary dogs!
Each represents something: Raikou represents the thunder which ignited the tower. Entei is the fire which burned it down. Suicune is the rain that put the fire out. |
Yeah, and Lugia is only considered trio master of the legendary birds because of the movie, which is a completely different canon than the games.
|
Tkallab, your objection has been objected an I reject your objection in the way that your objection will be rejected via ignorance. Beaides, lugia can't be a religion, lugiaism maybe, but lugia is a terrible name for a religion.
|
Maybe mentioning Lugia here is like mentioning the word "Mewtwo" in Mother/EarthBound forums... (use Google because I'm too long and because the same thing happens when you mention "Giegue" in Pokémon Forums. It should have a TvTropes page).
On Topic: I don't know in which side I should be: tkallab has a good point: All legendaries (withthe exception of Mewtwo are treated like gods. Even the Pokédex states that it is the Guardian of the Seas. However, Zapdos926 is also right: it would be weird if it was a religion and not just a myth. |
Tkallab, I just read over that google docs document again, most of is true, but I have the feeling lugia has feathers. It just seems that way. If you got that info from
bulbapedia, I'll beleive it, but just by looking at the pictures of it and saying there aren't any feathers is like saying pikachu doesn't have fur because you can't see it during the show/manga/games. Or that staraptor doesn't have feathers. Off topic: I need more people to play the awesomness game in my siggy... People who have clicked on it, don't give away how awesome the game is by telling other ppl what it is... |
Sorry dude, you're years late to make me a zombie.
In Lugia's Bulbapedia entry, nothing is stated about feathers or skin, except for the fact that he can learn Feather Dance. But that's only by purification in Gale Of Darkness, and Piplup can also learn Feather Dance, so this proves nothing. |
Agreed.
I must say I'm indifferent to whether Lugia is a bird or a dragon. However, now we decided, no opposition to it being a dragon is going to be taken really seriously until next september. Sorry. I just cba with more voting......and we'll have Gen V to deal with sooner or later. |
Quote:
Lugia is a dragon, and a legendary, let's just leave it a that guys! |
Srry for the inactivity lately, been moving to canada,
so, uh whats the topic? Can't be on topic if i don't know what the topic is! ZING! lol |
We were just having a small conversation about Lugia, but it's over now, I guess. Let's make a new topic, shall we?
|
ok, but ive got to go now, Cya tomorrow.

I'll even answer the questions!~: Favorite Dragons? Rayquaza, Garchomp , Crimgan and Ononokus! Should Garchomp and/or Salamence be Uber? They are pretty strong... Lance or Clair? Iris =P Which Dragon looks best Shiny? Rayquaza, it's black, and it looks sooo coool! Giratina: 'Origin' Form or 'Another' Form? Origin! Whats your Dragon Team? Hmmm....: Garchomp Ononkus Crimgan Sazandora Dragonite Salamance Should Tyranitar be a Dragon? To be honest, not really - it hasn't got any real dragon features and is supposed to be based on a T-rex! What is your favorite legendary Dragon? RAYQUAZA!!!!! |
Welcome!
I'll add you to the member's list (you can't see it at the moment, it's in spoilers to keep my post small). If you can make userbars, that'd be great...nice monkey pic, btw. |
Welcome Mew~.
My fav dragon type move is.......maybe Dragon breath, dunno. |
Favorite dragons: Giratina, Rayquaza, Latias, Salamence, Garchomp.
Garchomp and Salamence in Ubers?? They're ridiculous... but I not ridiculous enough so much that they have to be banished. Lance or Clair? I like them both, I can't really pick between them. Best shiny dragon? Giratina. The reversed color palette is friggin' awesome. Origin or Another Giratina? ORIGIN! You can't get more awesome than that. I only like the Another Forme for it's epic wing-claws. XD My Dragon Team? Giratina-O, Salamence, Rayquaza, Latias, Dragonite, and Reshiram. Tyranitar a dragon? No... It's more of a dinosaur. Favorite legendary dragon? Giratina. It's a ghost... >.> Nuff said. Favorite dragon move? Draco Meteor. It's just like Final Fantasy all over again... XD Sorry for not being active in a while. |
Can I join? I love nearly all of those up there and I have my own shiny Dragonite and a REALLY strong Rayquaza. I even Fantasize in Dragon Pokemon. I doodle my own and I am just about as crazy as you can get about Dragon types. Please let me join!
Favorites: -Dragonite -Rayquaza -Flygon -Lugia -Latias -Dialga -Giratina -Charizard Favorite Legendary Dragon? Rayquaza. It is just such an epic win! Dragonite looks best shiny. Tyranitar should be a Dragon. Lance or Clair? They both suck and cannot beat my Dragonite. Favorite move? Outrage. It is super powerful, and attacks for 2-3 turns. Makeyour pokemon hold a berry that prevents confusion and use it again and again. Team: Dragonite (Shiny) Rayquaza Giratina (Altered form) Dialga Lugia Flygon |
Welcome RobotUnicorn! :)
I decided I won't be doing the challenge... Sorry! I really had that in mind, but i don't have anough time... |
Well what's the subject then?
I'll start a new one. um.....If you could improve any Dragon-Type pokemon wich would it be and how would you improve it? |
Kingdra + Nasty Plot = Pawnage time!
|
It is impossible to improve any Dragon Pokemon. They are the best they can be already.
|
eh just make any improvement to any dragon type pokemon (including stats moves or even better appearances you could think of) just anything.
Frankly i think Dragonite should be blue, that would make more sense. |
I would edit one of the new Dragon Pokémon.
Spoiler:
|
Spoiler:
I don't know what i would improve with any of them, maybe tweak Dialga's Shiny coloration a bit but that's about all that I would do off hand right now. |
As for improving dragons, I'd have to say that Altaria, Flygon, and Kingdra have rather lackluster stats (but can shine in battle given they've been put into the right hands). Other than that, I'd say the dragons are okay for now. Although, I'm unsure of Generation V mainly because I'm avoiding info on it.
|
I am with silhouette on the gen. V. They have made enough pokemon games and should have stopped making new ones at platinum. HS/SS are good, but they dont count as games that shouldn't have been made because they're remakes of a good original.
On topic... Salamence would look cool with four smaller wings rather than those two triangles it has now. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
Plus, you know an awesome trainer by the fact that he can win using weaker Pokémon. Quote:
I wouldn't call Salamence's wings triangles, they're a bit... Arclike. But four wings would really rock. |
your all right, i can't think of any other changes since i'm not exactly a stats expert, and, most dragon types are good as they are, i can only say this.
Bagon's appearance should be different, dunno how, i bet the gamefreak dudes could think of something. |
Hmmm...Altaria and Flygon aren't weak...they're just not pseudo-legendarys like most dragons....and have more than 1 weakness, unlike Kingdra.
I personally would change some tiny things: - Dragonite's Shiny form should be blue....or if not blue, something else...but that current green colouring is hideous. - Not really a dragon pokemon....but I'd stop Kanghaskhan from learning Outrage. I think that move should be a dragon-only move (so I'd stop a lot of pokemon who can learn it via tutor too), and that the only pokemon that can learn it by level-up should be Dragonite and it's family. Although Rayquaza is fine as it's the only legendary to do so. That's about it tbh... Oh, and new thing from me: If you're all interested, we shall have another vote on any disputed dragons! Here's the guide on how it's being done: Code:
|
Great idea, but, i don't think there are any other dragon types to add.
Or atleast i can't think of any. |
Sigh... Still no list for Tyranitar. I'm so busy, even during vacation!
|
poor you, how long have you been planning that list now?
for over 20 pages, man you MUST be a busy guy. How long will you be able to stay online for tkallab? |
Haha...Tyranitar.....I've seen people claim that's not a dragon...
Like I said, this a free-for-all, if nobody cares, doesn't happen, simple as. |
Oh right, well i don't really care that much although http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/2/25/248.png does strike a resmbalence to a http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/5/57/DragonIC.gif, but, i think it's more of a dinosaur, not a http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/5/57/DragonIC.gif.
|
If we were to start a discussion on Tyranitar, we'd be more active, I think. Real discussions are always fun to me, haha. It'd help me to get myself a nice list. Where's draggy when you need him?
Anyway, I'll just request that Tyranitar be voted upon. I'd like to see him being considered a dragon in this club if he weren't a pseudo-legendary. More reasons'll follow, I started the list! |
Warning! Large Spoiler Alert!
Spoiler:
And this is why I believe that Milotic should be a dragon. *Bows* :D EDIT: Thought of another reason; Milotic also breeds with the dragon group. Charizard and Gyarados do as well, and they are considered dragons, so why not Milotic? :) |
Cool. Get that list, and either pm it to me, or post it here and I'll stick it into my OP at the beginning of this thread when I put all the info into that post.
It's really great that you're willing to do these lists...I know I couldn't be bothered. EDIT: Okay, Doonerz, I thought one of you would bring that up....yes, you have a point (both Gyarados and Milotic are sea serpents, and are often considered to be counterparts). Try to think up more reasons to vote Milotic in, so you can convince other people you're right. |
Hmmmm Dooonerz does strike a good point, yep, i think i'll support his idea:)
I now support Dooonerz's idea of Milotic being a dragon (although i still have a few tiny doubts) |
In my opinion Milotic is an eel whereas Gyarados and Rayquaza are Chinese dragons, but Milotic could also be a sea serpent.
Personally, I'd sooner compare Milotic with Dragonair than Rayquaza, because they Milotic looks a lot like Dragonair in body structure and habitat, as well as elegance. I'm not saying I support Milotic to be in this club, but I do support he be voted upon. List time! |
I would like to say that I support the idea of Milotic being a dragon 100%
Also, I made some userbars :) http://www.userbars.com/i/532672.gif http://www.userbars.com/i/532673.gif http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/6921/jkh.png |
Guys, lets make Milotic a Dragon. It really should be. Tyranitar should be a Dragon too.
|
1)Tyranitar is already a Dragon so you were a little bit too late.
2) Milotic is considered the feminine version of Gyarados, so maybe that would work. You even added all the reasons I think it would be a good ideaso I'll support it. I hope it doesn't ends like the ***** discussion (I'm censoring the name of the Pokémon because I brought too much controversy and discussion after mentioning it). I think tkallab knows what I'm talking about. |
Cool banners, Mew~!
I think I'll use the Zekrom / Reshiram ones, as they're awesome and would go with my theme xD So, yeah, I've asked Doonerz to keep his arguments somewhere and write down you supporters' names, for future reference, as I tend to miss a lot of things in this thread. |
I don't think Lugia caused controversy, just a really fun discussion. That very discussion caused me to become fairly active in this group.
But I think people are gonna need more arguments for Milotic, because all your arguments also count for Arbok. He's also got a serpentine body, learns Dragon Tail via TM, and he's in the Dragon egg group too. He also has some connections to the basilisk, which is sometimes considered a dragon. In generation I, Arbok was the only Pokémon to learn Glare, a move that paralyzes by staring, an ability the basilisk originally had. Of course, everybody who knows Harry Potter will be biased towards the basilisk being a snake, but the basilisk is also portrayed as a wyvern with the head and legs of a rooster. I'm definitely not saying I want Arbok in this group, I'm just saying that Milotic is gonna need more arguments. Because if Doonerz' amount of arguments suffices, we would be able to get any reptile Pokémon into this group. |
I sopport Milotic, after all, I've tried to add Milotic before!
@Mew~ I like the userbars, but why make userbars with Pokemon that aren't even in the Den yet?!?!? :/ As for making the lists, I think that Pokemon moves shouldn't be arguments at all! I've explained why before! |
I think moves can be added as arguments, but the voting people can decide for themselves whether they care about the moves or not.
|
WRONG! If that's so, then why not add Lucario as a dragon, he learns Dragon Pulse by lvl. up!
And tkallab and Draggy start again! People, take notes! PS: I don't want to add lucario, that's a sarcasm! |
If I weren't against the use of leet speech, I'd be dropping a cluster lol bomb in reaction to your Lucario argument.
Well okay, you can't use the move argument as the sole reason why you want a Pokémon in this group, but it can be used as an extra argument, which may be needed to push someone that tiny bit further to vote yes. Though I have to admit a lot of legendaries and reptile Pokémon can learn Dragon moves in some way, when you're doubting what to vote for, and you see 'Milotic can learn Dragon Breath', that may be what makes you make up your mind. But, as I said, you can decide for yourself whether you find moves important and whether it adds to your final decision. |
Ok, then let's add Pidgey's line (it can learn Twister by lvl. up!) and Mantine and Wingull (they learn it by breeding!); let's not forget Growlithe, Arcanine, Lapras, Ho-oh(they learn Dragonbreath by TM), or Onix and Steelix(they learn it by lvl.up!), nor Treeko and Feebas(cause they learn it by breeding); and what about Kangaskhan and Granbull, they learn Outrage by lvl.up! Need any more moves to add?
|
...As I was saying, you can use the moves as an extra argument. Like first you have your whole rant about the fact that your Dragon´s Den candidate has a dragon´s physique and he´s based on whatever mythical creature...
And then, at the end, you say "By the way, he learns this and this move". It´s an extra, like a deleted scene in a movie or an extra cookie in your pack of Bastognes. |
This isn't really fare, as practically the only arguments Tyranitar has are Dragon moves...
Moves aren't assigned cause of the type, or the breeding group, but cause of Pokemon's nature(Tyranitar is a raging Pokemon that often uses Trash to destroy it's sorounding, thus it has an outrage move,...)! |
Well apparently the raging part is based on the Tarasque or something.
I´m having severe problems with Tyranitars list. He doesn´t look like a dragon, but he doesn´t bear a resemblance to a dinosaur either... It seems Tyranitar is a unique Pokémon. Apart from Godzilla, I have no idea what he is... |
About Arbok.....it doesn't learn as many dragon moves.....
Sceptile's a grass-type.......we have yet to have a grass dragon, and it has few similarities to other dragons (Milotic would get nowhere without Gyarados). Tyranitar's a dragon in my opinion, as he's a dinosaur-ish pokémon, and aren't dragons meant to be left-over dinosaurs with superpowers? (Don't go all angry, but that's a general stereotype of dragons). Still, like I said, you can get an argument for/against a pokemon, and just write it up, then pm/vm it to me, and when we start, I'll put it up for people to see, alongside the opposing argument (i.e. for Milotic and against Milotic). Good luck with your list, Tkallab! And I know dragon moves can't really be counted (lol, Mew's now a dragon, right? I think it may even be able to learn Draco Meteor....), as pokémon like Arcanine and Kangaskhan learn them by tm and level-up, but still, if it doesn't get any, it can't be a dragon.... |
What do you mean it doesn't bear resemblance to dinosaurs?!
Spoiler:
Enough resemblance for ya? |
Okay, so I want to have this clear. Not every Pokémon with a dragon move is a dragon, but a Pokémon needs at least one dragon move to be a dragon?
And who said anyting about Sceptile? Draggy mentioned Treecko once, but just to make his point. Ninja´d. Draggy, if you would, can you please name some of the resemblances? |
If YOU can't, than you need to get your eyes checked!
Big hind legs on which it stands on, small forelegs, big head with huge jaws, long and fat tail that balances it while it's standing or moving, sharp teeth and claws,... Basically anyone who looks at the pictures will see the resemblances! |
Okay, now name some traits that Tyranitar shares with dinosaurs but not with dragons.
Also, Tyranitar's arms are a lot bigger than a Tyrannosaur's, relatively. The tyrannosaur's head is bigger than Tyranitar's, and shaped differently. And all the traits you described can also be applied to the Pokémon in your very signature. As for why Tyranitar isn't a T-Rex: He is standing up straight while the T-Rex kind of leans forward, being kept in balance by its tail. His arms are thicker than the T-Rex's, and they have three short claws instead of two long ones. All the T-Rex's teeth (a lot) can be seen when its mouth is even slightly open, while only four teeth of Tyranitar can be seen, even when his mouth is wide open. Tyranitar's legs are actually pretty small compared to the T-Rex's. To be continued... |
Oh man i missed a lot i think, because of the move to canada, we are now in different time zone.
anyway, what's with this Tyranitar disussion i think he's a dinosaur, not a dragon, technically he's a rock dinosaur with a hint of darkness and a lot of power, he can move/cripple mountains, that sound like a dragon to you? i dunno, i'd just leave his classification as D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R. |
Yeah, and like I asked draggy, what does he have in common with dinosaurs that other dragon Pokémon don't?
