So did you expect that game-freak is gonna make it look EXCATLY as a carnivourus dinosaur?
Name one Pokemon that looks excatly like an animal it is based on!
You can't look at those resemblances literally, cause they are just that-resemblances! The fact of the matter is... Tyranitar is based on carnivourus dinosaurs, NOT DRAGONS!

tkallab October 31st, 2010 8:25 AM

Now that you mention it, Tyranitar does kind of look like a Lickitung. Now he only needs to be licking the Ice Cream Pokémon.

Doesn't Tyranitar kind of look like a Komodo Dragon?

Wait, no he doesn't. But I like to think so. His head does look more like a Komodo Dragon's than a Tyrannosaurs.
But of course we all know Komodo Dragons are just lizards and are only called dragons because of their size.

dragoniteuser October 31st, 2010 8:30 AM

^^ So... your point is...?
Tyranitar is a dinosaur, face it!

Makbets October 31st, 2010 8:34 AM

I don't think so, but I think that

http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/thumb/d/d2/552Waruvile_Dream.png/180px-552Waruvile_Dream.png does!

tkallab October 31st, 2010 8:42 AM

Wait, I didn't realise I got ninja'd.

Spoiler:

Contains some generation V.

dragoniteuser October 31st, 2010 8:52 AM

Really, and when excatly did you see a purple rattle-snake, giant purple cobra, huge white cat with a pearl fused on it's head, red catfish, A DRAGON??? LOL, bear with big golden circle on it belly, such fish, an orange chick with feather crest, blue walrus with foam?? on it's neck, OK the dog and the pidgen I can understand, brown-black crocodile with eyes that size, that's not an animal..., nor does it acctually look like a real ice-cream, when did you eat an ice-cream with cone made of ice???

Mew~ October 31st, 2010 9:50 AM

Thats for your comments on the Userbars!
When are we going to be adding the Gen 5 pokemon tot he first post anyway?

tkallab October 31st, 2010 9:51 AM

Okay, so not exactly. But it's the details that make them different, while with Tyranitar, only the details make him look like a tyrannosaur. His body structure looks the most like Godzilla's.

By the way, I put the ice cream there for lulz fun.

And Mew~, they'll be added when the games are released in America, or at least the new Pokémon have their English name confirmed.

dragoniteuser October 31st, 2010 9:51 AM

Once BW get's released in US-probably in spring next year!

Wait... so Tsutarja's name isn't really Tsutarja in english...DOH!
Here's what i think of all the "supposed" dragon types:

Tyranitar: Dinosaur
Sceptile and Co.: Lizard
Tkallab: Smeargle (LOL)
Xilfer123: Kecleon (cuz i can't make up my mind on which pokemon is my fav)
Kecleon: uh.... Chameleon (why did i even put that up?)
Milotic: Sea serpent/Dragon, can't decide.

tkallab October 31st, 2010 10:34 AM

Draggy, do you think Ononokusu is gonna get added once the games are out in America?

Oh, and Xilfer... Of course it isn't. Go follow check Serebii daily, haha.

Xilfer October 31st, 2010 10:50 AM

Oh ok, just out of curiousity what IS Tsutarja's real name?
When the American version comes out, i will definitely vote for Ononusoko (can't remember name)
Although I'm sure he will get added automatically

tkallab October 31st, 2010 11:05 AM

Yes, Ononokusu will be added automatically. Now name the differences between Ononokusu and Tyranitar.

Tsutarja's English name has not been announced as of yet. Just sayin'.

Xilfer October 31st, 2010 11:10 AM

Right, i can't wait for the new ones to be added.
so um, while we wait for some manga progress i'll start a new topic.
Name atleast one of your favorite Dragon type pokemon, why you like it, and what position it has on your team.

Yes, ononkusu is a Dragon type Pokemon, so it will be add to the list automatically.

You sure know how to hit the enemy's soft spot, don't you?
I've been thinking about it, really hard! And... I've come to conclusion: IMO Ononkusu IS a Dragon Pokemon, and Tyranitar ISN'T! You say they're the same thing, but i beg to differ! Don't ask me why I have this opinion, cause I won't tell you! To be completly honest, I'm not sure what the answer would be, but even once I do, I'll keep it to myself! The matter of the fact remains, one the poll starts, be sure that I'll vote Tyranitar out!

Well fot this topic, I won't pick Dragonite, cause I could talk about it non-stop!
I'll go with Charizard, which is a nice mixed special sweeper!

Makbets October 31st, 2010 11:20 AM

Charizard is awesome!

THE BEST DRAGON! :D :D :D

Xilfer October 31st, 2010 11:36 AM

Ok, i like Garchomp, although i have other dragon favs, Garchomp's apearance appeals to (he's not the only one though) his position on my team is Attacker (because of awsome ATK) oh if only he could learn skill swap, that would have gotten me out of that tight spot with Cynthia (Garchomp Vs. Garchomp, except my Garchomp was slightly weaker back then)

Amore October 31st, 2010 12:13 PM

How would Skill Swap have helped? They would both still have Sand Veil......

For me, it's Dragonite.

Yes, he was the first one. Outrage is his signature move. He's capable of being a good mixed sweeper (I think Garchomp would work if he weren't in uber play). He's generally cool looking, and he's my favourite.

tkallab October 31st, 2010 12:19 PM

I feel like we can close this discussion with your final answer, dragoniteuser. Ononokusu and Tyranitar have many similarities, but also many differences. But none of those differences have anything to do with the question at hand. Except one.

Ononokusu is Dragon-typed.

When it comes to differences between Ononokusu and Tyranitar that are related to dragons, this is the only one that stands out (read: the only one I could find). So if Tyranitar was Dragon-typed, he would be the same as Ononokusu in terms of being a dragon. But Tyranitar isn't Dragon-typed.

Therefor Tyranitar is not a dragon.

In this discussion, I was never against Tyranitar not being a dragon. I just wanted both sides of the story to be told. Like a list. I took the role of opposition so I could be more effective in making arguments in favor of Tyranitar being a dragon and Tyranitar not being a dinosaur, while dragoniteuser has done the opposite.
I have found I am not capable of making a list for Tyranitar because all arguments from both sides are a matter of opinion. But now that I have had this discussion, I know one thing.

This discussion is my list.

Read it through, members of the Dragon's Den, and make the right decision.

There is one thing I want to say. In the end I do believe Tyranitar is a Komodo dragon. For this reason: They have both been called dragons simply for the fact that they are large reptiles. Tyranitar is not a dinosaur, nor is it based on a dragon or a Komodo dragon; He is a large reptile. This is my final opinion.

By the way, I know I'm being overdramatic. I'm doing that on purpose, haha.

dragoniteuser October 31st, 2010 12:26 PM

You're not more dramatic then I was! But that last post does sound like a lawyer's last statement! LOL
I don't see why anyone should make any lists, if you have any itelligence-you can decide for yourslef, and if you can't decide for yourself what something is... don't vote at all, it's simple as that!

shininglatios217 October 31st, 2010 12:48 PM

So, about both discussions:

1) Was Milotic accepted? I got a little bit confused after they mentioned Tyranitar and started the second discussion.

2) Is Tyranitar still considered a Dragon? I'm still against it and Lugia being considered Dragons (specially after tkallab convinced me that Lugia is not a bird) but I'm not the owner so I will have to accept that point of view.

tkallab October 31st, 2010 12:49 PM

Haha, ever heard of Phoenix Wright? I was totally imagining I was making a confession at the end of the final case! Like, the big climax of the whole game!

With my lists, I wanted people to be aware their choice. I don't want people to vote simply because they have a certain opinion with no arguments. I want people to always have a reason to do things. And if people don't have a reason to do something, I want them to realise that. I think that message got through to you, dragoniteuser.
If you want to vote, make sure you are informed or don't vote. You don't vote someone for president simply because you feel like it. It would make elections random and meaningless. And Tyranitar is a serious issue, so be serious about your vote, too!

...Dang, I got carried away again.

Anyway, for the other topic, the only Pokémon I have in any of my teams right now is Garchomp in Platinum. I love that you're able to get a Gible so early in the game. All other games need you to either have, like, six badges or 9999 coins.
I'm thinking of adding Crimgon or Kurimugan or whatever you want to call him to my Black team.

No votes have been made and/or counted as of yet, so Milotic is not added nor is Tyranitar removed. But, the discussion regarding Tyranitar has ended and a conclusion has been made. Milotic is now open for discussion again and I hope it can be done in the same fashion as the previous one.

dragoniteuser October 31st, 2010 1:26 PM

IMO milotic IS an aquatic dragon! Why?
http://pearlsaurus.fc2web.com/elog/386/350.jpg

Nuff said!

tkallab October 31st, 2010 1:39 PM

Okay, what traits about him her(?) are dragonlike? Because a serpentine body could also be a trait of snakes and eels.

Amore October 31st, 2010 1:42 PM

Good point....that's some good arguing there boys! Keep the thread at the top! xD

I don't personally think Milotic is a dragon...I can see why people do.....but most dragons that aren't dragon-typed look ferocious, Milotic's too serene.....
