Hey guys, i won't be online much because i am officially....Ill, that's right, Ill, Sick, Grosserised (new word:P) so i can only work from my mum's laptop, that means that my time on the computer is drastically minimized, therefore please don't demote me or something.
and you lot are doing your exams now anyway so what's even the point of coming back here?

Anyway.....I'm becoming more and more dubious about whether or not I'll actually like Black when I get it.....I'm also losing my interest....hence I'm fulfilling my pre-new-game tradition of quitting pokémon practically cold turkey for a few months before the release! So, I'll be leaving soon....please, try to keep this place active so I can find it when/if I return (most likely when, and some time around August....due to GCSEs).

I'll still check Serebii for any drastic news...i.e. restarting HeartGold to get an event pokémon, but not taking it any further.....so, good luck guys! I'll be gone as soon as my giveaway has been completed, or by Christmas Eve.

Kidding? you're leaving again? aw man, ok, i know how you feel, i lost my mood for Zelda and came to Pokemon.

Btw, please don't come to England....we don't have enough jobs....and it'll cost me £100,000 to go to Uni because I'm not in poverty (I'm not rich either, I have some money but the bank won't give it to me xD), and I'm English (it's cheaper to be Scottish / Welsh / Iranian / anything non-English than English in an English University).

It's not that I don't like you...but I worry for my future...you can only get so much money by standing on a street corner playing Baker Street out of a saxophone like an iPod on loop :P

Btw, my signature and whole theme is dragon-related because Suicune > all dragons in competitive battling.
But the only thing that can defeat Wurmple is Steel-type who resists bug...oh wait, they all do except Jirachi xD

Please don't go to england! I've been there for 5 stinking years and all i got was the following:
Football
School
Trouble
Trouble at School
Crap
Crap
Crapyness
one hell of a stinking neighbourhood.
No offense Amore

What I'd like to see is N collecting both Reshiram and Zekrom, and making one big Pokémon out of them, although it would probably cause controversy if Game Freak added a Pokémon mid-generation. In order to beat N, you'd have to get Kyuremu and use the 'God Stone', an unused item in the game, to change his Forme, so he could match 'Reshikrom'.

Thoughts on this?

Nah, although that would be pretty cool.

also, what's with all the grcs and advs or whatever? it's all too complicated...

No tkallab, it's the same statue in both games.

Thomas, that doesn't prove anything, my pictures on the other hand...

Silhouette December 13th, 2010 2:30 PM

Okay, that means I'm going to have to find a new co-owner, and make a member list. D:

Why don't my quotes prove anything? It means in Diamond, there's a statue of Dialga, and in Pearl, there's a statue of Palkia. I think that proves something. The fact that the statues are the same, however, don't prove anything, except Game Freak was being lazy. Ever seen all those Pokémon statues from earlier games? Ever noticed them all being the same?

Don't forget the manga is a different canon altogether, too.

Welcome Mikota!

@tkallab
Wrong!
Your quotes just mention game mascots, but they don't say they're on that statue.
And manga may be different from the games, but the main story/plot is the same, in each generation!

Mask of Ice much?

Also, how could the makers of the statue know what Dialga / Palkia looked like? They're gods! No one has ever made a 100% accurate statue of a god (considering they don't exist, or no one believes in them)
Also, would you mind telling me when that manga was written? Was it before or after Arceus was officialy announced by Nintendo?

I love arguments! I'll put write a smily face just this once! ^^

Mikota, welcome! Consider yourself accepted!

Amore December 14th, 2010 12:50 PM

Manga was written...well, D/P was mostly written before Arceus. Later parts of the arc were written post-Arceus. I.e. Hg/Ss
Spoiler:
which features Arceus, so they must know about it xD

As for that statue...can you not tell by the pictures that it resembles both Dialga and Palkia in the games as well?

Yeah...not gone yet...I'll leave when my imaginary advent calendar runs out of chocolates (they've all sold out :( ) (December 24th, in case you've never had a proper advent calendar)

dragoniteuser December 14th, 2010 2:25 PM

Wait what does Arceus have to do with this again???

Xilfer December 14th, 2010 3:07 PM

Did anyone even pay attention to my last post?! (LOL)

I agree with...whoever is saying that they AREN'T Palgia or something, i think gamefreak never came with this idea, i mean, on diamond it's Dialga and Pearl it's Palkia, obvious difference in shape, and what does this have to do with Arceus?

shininglatios217 December 14th, 2010 5:48 PM

I'm with dragoniteuser this time. However, I have three theories about that statue:

1- dragoniteuser's theory: It is a representation of a mix between Dialga and Palkia. In Platinum BOTH descritions are found in the game at the Team Galactic HQ and a man in Eterna City will tell you what is said on them (although he says the incomplete versions found in DP). That means that the plaque contained both description (sorry tkallab, your quotes actually prove dragoniteuser's theory).

2. A mix between tkallab and dragoniteuser's theories: The statues used to represent Palkia in Pearl and Dialga in Diamond. However, when they were making Platinum, they decided that that statue represented both Dialga and Palkia.

3. The short (AKA the sceptical-and-boring) theory: The developers were lazy. Instead of using a statue representing the respective mascot of each game, they just used a neutral statue that would represent the mascot of the game.

Well, the statues look exactly the same... (And I think the fandom calls him Dialkia.) Why Arceus is involved: I was thinking they might have put a statue of 'the most powerful being' in Eterna City, and they couldn't use Arceus because he wasn't officially revealed.
I still don't think it's possible that the versions have two different descriptions even though the statue is the same.

Silhouette December 15th, 2010 1:39 PM

Alright guys, I've come to a decision. From here on, tkallab is going to be the new Co-Owner. Congrats!

(yes, this actually did take some time to figure out, I had to read through a lot of this thread -_-)

tkallab December 15th, 2010 1:49 PM

I think I shouldn't be the new co-owner until Amore is gone, actually. You're still here until Christmas, right Amore?

Silhouette December 15th, 2010 1:55 PM

Well, we were actually talking about getting a new co-owner a while back. Nothing wrong with having more than one co-owner. Helps me out since I'm never on.

EDIT: Unless you prefer not to be co-owner until Amore is gone.

tkallab December 16th, 2010 9:02 AM

I'll wait until Amore is gone, I think. I don't exactly know why, but I feel like it's the right thing to do, for some reason.

Also, I posted in this thread some time ago. I'm wondering if you guys agree with my statement here:

Because I would really hate it if I was (kind of) representing the Dragon's Den and saying something no one agrees with.

Just saying, sorry if the den disliked being set as an example. I was just confused by groups that say that their a <Pokemon>-type, then remove Pokemon of that type. :s I can understand if this is a club that includes Pokemon that seem like dragons though. Anyway, I'm no longer confused and don't care about a few other groups, so I'm not really going to bother posting in that thread. So no one really needs to waste their time.

Also, sorry for being inactive here (or pretty much any group I'm in) lately, been busy with other stuff.

Well, we had to seriously revamp this thread, since the previous owner abandoned ship. But there's nothing stopping you from re-joining.

tkallab December 19th, 2010 1:03 AM

Darn, this place is kind of getting inactive... New topic?

If you could turn one non-legendary into a legendary, which one would it be?
For me, it would be Dragonair. Just because it looks so majestic and all-knowing.

Regeneration December 19th, 2010 2:08 AM

If you could turn one non-legendary into a legendary, which one would it be?
Salamence. This Pokemon actually looks like a legendary to me. XD I would really love it if Salamence were a legendary. It has pretty high stats as well. :D

Amore December 19th, 2010 5:18 AM

Tkallab...I'd prefer it if you started co-owning now, personally.

And yeah, I think I suggested another co-owner as far back as early November...it's not a new idea. Still, I'll add Bhonjo to my post...and I'll list myself as "Semi-retired", as I'll still keep a members list if you want (seeing as my post's at the top).

Changing non-legendaries into legendaries

I'd turn Gyarados into a legendary, as it appears in history, both mythical and factual...but then again, I like how you can get a dragon if you have the patience to train a Magikarp...

So, personally won't change any of them...

Dooonerz December 19th, 2010 9:45 AM

Ummm, I think Kingdra looks Legendary-ish. This is because he hides in whirlpools, making him a mystical playa. <3
