I guess but the colours on Crimgan are a good choice.
onto another Pokémon, I dislike the shiny colours of these two a lot.

i dont mind them, wouldnt choose that as there shiny colour butfor me that is just a moderate decision although they could have been coloured way better

Azumi October 29th, 2010 4:36 PM

@Logiedan WHOA, those eyes look ridiculous with that kind of colour! And the beige/tan parts look dreadful... ;n;

You know that you get an egg that hatches into a Meraruba? I got it, and when it hatched:

http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd343/MoritaMasami/th_meraruba-1.gif?t=1288398106

I didn't even know it was a shiny until I saw that star in the details page for it. I was still confused until I sent it out in a battle, and VOILA THE SHINY EFFECT.

Though I think I was even more surprised when I ran into a shiny Fearow when I accidentally ran into a grass patch near the water leading to the Power Plant. I think it's because it hatched out of an egg, and I didn't really know what the heck that was.

Yeah, I was just blazing through egg hatching, didn't really catch the color difference. xD

I'm trying for Shiny Zorua as of the moment.

Congrats on the Shiny Meruba! It looks pretty cool, especially the yellow spikes. Makes it look more sun-related.

I agree; Waruvile and Waruvial look horrible as shinies; their colors are too harsh on the eyes.

Personally, I don't like this one. The original is gold, and gold is more valuable than silver.

Oh yikes. It looks like a bad spriter recolored their sprites. ;~; The yellow doesn't fit that Pokemon at all.
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/2/2b/Spr_5b_526_s.pngThis shiny Pokemon makes it look more of an ice-type than rock. It looks like crystals. XD

Also Reshiram and Zekrom don't have much of a difference. D= Probably so they don't affect the Yin/Yang thing.

But their shiny variants are...so strange! Well, Zekrom's is. The gold actually complements Reshiram, and is reminiscent of an angelic halo, IMO. Zekrom just look like it got a green tint... As I said before in another thread, what would have been better in order to both preserve and enhance the yin-yang theme would be to have a black Reshiram with red eyes and a white Zekrom with blue eyes. I'd edit the sprites myself, but I don't have Paint.NET at my disposal right now... I mean, they are opposite in nearly every other aspect (even going so far as to represent the version with the color opposite their primary body color); I'd figure their shinies would reflect the same...

Ho-Oh November 1st, 2010 7:51 PM

I agree with most of your thoughts about the shinies - except Reshiram/Zekrom. After looking at them, Zekrom actually looks more robotic, while as said, Reshiram looks more angelic. I think for Zekrom, it is representing the underground, or something like that, because whenever I look at the shiny form, it looks like metal and robotic, idk. I just think that well, for Zekrom... it's the best they could have done. XD;

Oh and Meguroko's evolutions colours are terrible compared to their normal forms, which look much more like Crocodiles than... whatever they look like now. They looose the effect of being scary.

Also, congrats on Meraruba,Tachibana Azumi :)

(Wow everyone seems to be getting shinies easily)

And for those ones, the brighter yellow does seem out of place... I just imagine it as those being the normal colors. Except someone pissed off the Pokemon so much, their skin brightens to a boiling red, signifying their rage. :D Then we get this coloration (I guess the whole "anger" thing only applies to Waruvial, since that's the only species in Meguroko's line with reddish coloration for skin):

Destiny. November 1st, 2010 8:51 PM

Uh guys? Do they recolour by switching hues or by manual recoloration?
-o.o'

Logiedan November 1st, 2010 9:21 PM

I honestly don't know, but i'm sure it's by manual recolouring. Shifting hues don't work for most Pokémon sprites.

Ho-Oh November 1st, 2010 10:02 PM

Shifting hues would be kinda lazy of them, too. :x

Oh, I forgot to mention. I'm in love with Mamanbou's shiny. :3

Ravecat November 1st, 2010 10:56 PM

It is manual recolouring.

Mamanbou's shiny colours aren't that impressive, but it could be because of the green eyelash/brow thing. ;/

Yeah Manembou's shiny is really cool, I agree, but I thought a gold would have been better (like Luvdisc). I love golden hearts :]

Golden hearts are 'shiny' and pretty, but then again more people will realize how similar Mamanbou is to Luvdisc more than it already is, so that would have caused a better reason for it to be Luvdisc's evolution and another reason to bring up into complaining. The light lavender is really nice though, I can see myself trying to obtain the shiny sometime. :3

Arab November 2nd, 2010 10:47 AM

Yeah I have a shinny Tabunne....my first shiny ever in PKM games, except gyarados and few pkms from trades....

Logiedan November 2nd, 2010 2:48 PM

Why is everyone getting shinies so easily? D:

Ginji November 2nd, 2010 7:02 PM

After a week of SRing, I finally got my first shiny!

Shiny Terrakion

http://veekun.com/dex/media/black-white/shiny/639.png

Brave Jonah November 2nd, 2010 8:26 PM

I'm going to go ahead and say that my favorite shiny in B/W is Ulgamoth (thus far).

Logiedan November 2nd, 2010 8:52 PM

I'd rather Ulgamoth's shiny colours but the red-ish orange does support its fire type.

It's better than having an ugly green change on like 50% of them :)

Masuda Method

You know how in the gen4 games that if you breed a pokemon that's been traded from a foreign language game, there's a higher chance that the offspring will be shiny. Does that method work in BW as well?

If not, is there any other method of getting shinies more easily in those games?

Ho-Oh November 8th, 2010 3:17 PM

Yup, the Masuda method works in B/W, so merged with the shiny discussion where you can further discuss it~

mervyn797 November 9th, 2010 5:20 AM

I'm pretty unlucky when it comes to shinies, so I haven't encountered a single one while playing Black...
I always found shiny Pokemon ugly, so the hate continues right to B/W as well....
And Shiny Reshiram and Zekrom don't have much of a difference from their normal sprites. =(

Xatumi November 9th, 2010 6:55 AM

I'm pretty lucky, I caught myself a shiny Fushide this morning! What a good way to start the day. And its Adamant natured. Can't get any better.

Perriechu November 9th, 2010 2:32 PM

Not one shiny for me on Black or White. I've been trying to hatch a Shiny Pokabu, since Enubouu's (SP?) shiny form is so amazing :D

For the three wise monkeys I'm going to have to say, I simply adore their shiny forms. The vibrancy from the original forms to this is amazing, and I'm quite impressed.

Yanappu - The change from the forest green to a light/lime-ish green was a great move. This kind of green has it out stand a bit more, as well as come off appealing in my eyes. I'd love to obtain a shiny form for Yanappu and I fond it a bit more than its original.

Baoppu - I'd say this is the only one I don't really fond too, too much. The orange is alright, but I prefer the brick red color for Baoppu. With its original colored form, it represents being a fire type a little more. This is still a decent shiny form for Baoppu though.

Hiyappu - Although it's a little bright, I still like the shiny form for Hiyappu. For some reason I see Hiyappu as a Pokémon you'd see at a beach. /weird like that. I have nothing dire to say for this shiny; a bit bright but pretty decent. I do however prefer the darker toned blue as it seems a bit more simplistic and upright.

Out of the three, Yanappu would be my favorite shiny form. I definitely like the green color used for it, and as I said, I would hope to catch one at some point in the game.

That's not exactly true. Shinies are still hard to come by. Your friend just got lucky.

And is it just me, or is there something...off about Gamageroge's shiny form?:

The orange doesn't compliment it's turquoise really well. That's probably the only reason why it's off.

Ho-Oh November 13th, 2010 6:42 PM

The normal form of it isn't even nice, either. Replace orange with a black or something and it'd look awesome. :D;

Logiedan November 13th, 2010 7:01 PM

I think they could've replaced the turquoise on it's shiny form to a sort of grey-ish red or green.

But aren't most toads/frogs in some shade of green? Maybe it's just stereotypes. I do like the green on Gamageroge, though. It should've been a light shade of green with yellow circles and blue eyes.

http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-white/sprites/images/shiny/640.png
I'm not a big fan of Virizion, but I did notice that its shiny form is the inverse of its normal form.

Ho-Oh November 14th, 2010 12:34 AM

Nah, the uglier frogs are full on green. XD Brown frogs ftw.

Anddd that is such a beautiful shiny, even though it is the inverted colours. It looks so amazing with those colours.

That looks even better than it's normal form. Most shinies look disgusting. =(

Zelda November 16th, 2010 4:46 AM

I love how graceful the shiny form appears. Both the non-shiny and shiny form are opposites of each other but still have a cool fill from the regular to shiny form. Yes not much of a difference besides the main color switches and outlines, but it still has a serene legendary appearance. I wouldn't mind obtaining it in its regular form, but I believe if I caught the shiny Virizion it would be more interesting to obtain as it's really all luck and chance to catch one out of the blue. o3o

I don't think it rocks the green/orange shiny combo like Swellow does. :/ I prefer the normal blue coloration over it's shiny form.

Jerpy November 16th, 2010 11:49 AM

I would find it hard to believe if someone doesn't like the Shiny version of Kuitaran. I mean, the black works well against the red -makes it look evil...

The shiny candle Pokemon looks amazing! Since it is a Ghost type Pokemon, the blue flame adds to the ghastly aura about it!! Indeed, pretty spooky!
The Mushroom's evolution... I don't really like its colour.

KaosDoom November 22nd, 2010 10:39 PM

Last month, I've randomly hatched a shiny Monozu after 38 eggs even though it's Masuda method, but I was only looking for Timid nature Monozus. I bred english male Seviper with Dark pulse and female Monozu I found in Victory Road. I was very shocked that I actually hatched a shiny one.. making my fastest MM shiny ever hatched, though I wasn't looking for a shiny. lol
I'm currently SRing for shiny Kyurem and been 6 days. I gave up on Zekrom since I kept on hearing rumors of that Zekrom/Reshiram/Victini can't be shiny in the game.. so I don't know and haven't seen a legit video of them on youtube.

Edit: urrghh... can't post pic nor video.. yet.. I'll be back with them soon after I get 15 posts.. x-x

Zelda December 2nd, 2010 4:37 AM

All these discussions going on about obtaining shinies makes me excited to start trying my luck for next year. I think one of the main shinies I would like to obtain during some point in the game would be Yanappu. The mild lime green color Yanappu has in its shiny form is one of my favorite types of green and to me, this is the best shiny out of all three monkeys included. :3

I look forward to a Shiny Shandera <333

I dont know if some of you know this but:
Zekrom/Reshiram in N's castle cannot be shiny.
To get Zekrom/Reshiram shiny just fill up your Boxes and Party.
Kill Zekrom/Reshiram.
After defeating N and Geechisu and watching credits go to the Dragon Spiral Tower.
Zekrom/Reshiram are there (somewhere). These have a chance to be shiny.
And the SR'ing begins.

Wow, some of the fifth gen shinies are really amazing ^^
Love hitomoshi and the ant eater!

I normally have horrid luck with shinies (the first one being a seviper... In the battle pike) and I've only managed to sucessfully chain one, a snubbull (which looks epic, can't post pics though).

I was starting my white version and when I was training up my Snivy I bumped into a (dun duun duuun!) minezumi with blue eyes! Being the not-very-quick person I am, I didn't even realise it was a shiny until it started to sparkle. It was my first shiny that I've ever encountered due to pure luck! (And it actually is a pretty good pokemon on my team... Return with STAB=Love)

Oh wow... I didn't actually notice that there were new shiny colours for everything each generation (okay I know nothing :D)

But compare that to...

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Spr_2g_148_s.png

It's really amazing. :O And the pose is a lot better than HGSS' too.

For some sprites they change the tint. You should look up Gligar's sprites. They've kept it's shiny sprite the same color, but for the fourth gen regular sprite they changed it's color 3 times.

Anyways...back to gen five. I actually prefer Erufuun's shiny sprite over the over. And I'm not a huge fan of shiny mons.

The colors go really well together. I think that's what adds to it's undeniable cuteness.

Sariix January 11th, 2011 8:24 PM

Gyrados is by far the best shiny :P Come on... Red... RED!

I'm pretty sure there are better shinies in B/W than that (since it was shiny for four generations before). Denchura for example ^_____^

Sariix January 11th, 2011 8:27 PM

sorry to have to spam like this... But just trying to get to the 15 post haha I think Water Pokemon got the best of the shiny... Lapras is pretty darn cool

Denchura.... Now I have to look it up :P haha *looks it up*... They slightly darker yellow? Or am I missing something?

Why yes, you can tell that I absolutely love pink. ♥

The pink is a little too dark for my taste, but I still luvs it.
Female Burungel is pretty adorable too.

Spam? If you're not referring to B/W shinies (of any generation), then it is spam, but since you are... it isn't. Either way, spam is bad and don't do it.

Nooo, it's kinda... dark blue sorta, a pretty shade of blue, because the normal colours for Denchura seem too royal compared to the shiny. XD

The Red Chain January 11th, 2011 8:42 PM

Here are a few shinies that I absolutely adore beyond compare. Not all of them!
Need more to talk about throughout the thread so I'll save my other favorites for mention later~

http://veekun.com/dex/media/black-white/shiny/570.png http://veekun.com/dex/media/black-white/shiny/571.png
Zorua and Zoroark have some delicious shinies. The combination of dark brown and light blue on Zorua create one exotic beauty, and the gray and purple on Zoroark have always been a treasured eye-candy combo.

http://veekun.com/dex/media/black-white/shiny/572.png http://veekun.com/dex/media/black-white/shiny/573.png
Another pair of dazzlers that I love. Pink has been a long time favorite color of mine and almost every shiny that is pink I fall in love with ; Chillarmy/Minccino being no exception.
Chirachiino's color combo in shiny form is superior to it's normal colors. Yellow is another color that I really love to see. :3

http://veekun.com/dex/media/black-white/shiny/549.png
Blue, green, AND pink?! .. There are no words to describe this masterpiece.. period.

PlatinumDude January 11th, 2011 8:48 PM

I don't like Shubarugo's shiny form:
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/8/8b/Spr_5b_589_s.png
It just doesn't look manly anymore.

The blue seems kinda strong for Zorua.

Eh...somehow the paler colors make it seem less vibrant to me.

The blue on Zorua is a bit bright, its colors don't blend as well as Zoroarks. On the other hand, Zoroark is awesomely evil with that Purple and Gray.
I love Chillarmy's colors, but I don't really like Chillaccino's lighter fur for some reason. :/
Doredia's just... awesome.

http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/0/0a/Spr_5b_635_s.png Sazandora doesn't look as epic as before. :(
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/b/bf/Spr_5b_623_s.png Goruugu's looking pretty nice. Looks way more ghostly. Why couldn't shiny and regular form switch?
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/b/b6/Spr_5b_612_s.pngLovin' its grey, black, and red combo.

Regeneration January 11th, 2011 11:23 PM

But, I do like Hitomoshi! The neon-blue flame is epic!

I forgot about Hitomoshi, >_<
Hitomoshi's flame is such an awesome blue and its eyes bright green are just epic.

Regeneration January 11th, 2011 11:37 PM

Hmm.. I just check out Hitomoshi's evolutions as well.
Ranpuraa's shiny form isn't impressive. Shandera on the other hand looks much better but still doesn't beat Hitomoshi. :c
Blue flame > Yellowish orange flame. =D

The green on Sazandora definitely makes it look meaner & I totally agree with you on Goruugu, Ononokus is like the new shiny Charizard.

Ranpuraa's purple flame doesn't look bad, but orange flames are overrated. Perhaps a green or PINK! flame would have been better for Shandera.

lol. I already bred a shiny Hitomoshi. :D
Along with a few other shinies from Gen V.
I think Shandera's body shouldn't be Orange with its flames. Maybe if its body were a different color, I would like it more.

Mew~ January 12th, 2011 9:40 AM

I like Gigalith's and Kuitaran's shiny forms:
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/2/2b/Spr_5b_526_s.png
^ Look's less like chromastone from Ben 10 and the blue crystals are pretty.

http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/9/9c/Spr_5b_631_s.png
Look's really cool and more like a fire type. (It's normal form looks all ground-type-ish.)

Cherrim January 12th, 2011 1:03 PM

My favourite shinies are...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/lightningchan/500.png
I'm a sucker for fire types that have blue fire for their shinies. n_n
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/lightningchan/526.png
...blue usually works really well in shinies. I don't like this Pokémon but its shiny is pretty striking when next to its regular form.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/lightningchan/527.png
Lime green! 8D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/lightningchan/547.png
...omg all my favourites are pretty much blue. ._.;;;
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/lightningchan/607.png
<3 Candle! I love this Pokémon and I'm so happy its shiny isn't dull and boring like pretty much every other one of my favourites.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/lightningchan/609.png
The whole line of Hitomoshi is nice but I love Shandera enough to mention it here too. :D It's so pretty!

The only shiny I outright HATE is Munna's. They didn't change that one spot on it from the default pink so it looks so disgusting. D8

twistedpuppy January 12th, 2011 6:28 PM

You know who I love. Uber pink spring time Shikijika. It's so pink I wanna die.
http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-white/sprites/images/shiny/585.png

Not much was changed overall. Just the yellow from their regular sprites, but the pink really gives it that feminine feel to their appealing design.

That's what RNG is for my dear. If they can complete it in time. ¬.¬
Someone else on my list is Tsunbear. Not much of a change either, but the darker blues make him look much frostier.

And I know I keep bringing up past gen pokemon, but who wouldn’t want a even more manly Nidoking? http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Spr_5b_034_s.png

Sure, Nidoking is able to pull off purple quite well, and I’m not complaining... But come on.. :D

Ahh, I saw Virizion's shiny not long ago and fell in love with it too. So much so I started to soft reset in front of it. :x
I stopped after the first 20 so I could complete the game and come back to it. I sure hope I find this guy! <3
I still can't believe how pretty and vibrant it's pink is.. and it goes so well with the purple and green combos. :D

http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-white/sprites/images/shiny/585.png
Aaaaaaaaaaaaa. ;///;
Why must this beautiful flush of pink only be possible in almost 8000 encounters and only in spring time?! D:

Then the seasons have to change every month too of course.. better stash this thing in the PC if I ever encounter and catch it in spring form or hold it in my party if it's not spring form until it is. ;D

Permanent spring shiny Shikijika. >w>

Andrut January 16th, 2011 7:14 AM

At Route 5, i found a shiny Solosis at a random single encounter! It was my first self-caught shiny after Gen.3!
Well, it's Lonely, but at least not adamant. I actually love its shiny form.
I'm so happy! ^^
Now, i'm hunting for a Minccino in the double grass~

Crits.

ShinySephiroth January 19th, 2011 4:31 AM

:o I wish I knew shiny Virizion was so cool ooking! *sigh* I guess I can always try for a shiny when the American version releases.

I'm SUPER disappointed with Victini's inability to be shiny. I SRed for it for three weeks until I found out it had coding. :( I love shiny Victini's color scheme. It would've looked excellent in a Premier Ball, too!
No shiny Zekrom/Reshiram was kind've a bust, too. :(

Captain Fabio January 19th, 2011 6:05 AM

Well, I am waiting for the Euroupe release date, but as always, I will be shiny hunting through out and once I have beat the Elite 4. I have done it in every game since Emerald and I won't be stopping now.

If you have a full team and full boxes in the PC, you can skip straight to the final battle with N without capturing Reshiram/Zekrom (who can't be shiny in N's Castle). In that case, you can get them in the Dragon Spiral Tower after getting the National Dex, and it's possible for them to be shiny that way.

They are the only ones I find remotely nice. :/

Morgnarok January 20th, 2011 2:52 PM

I have not got a shiny in Black or white yet because i am still awaiting the us release but when i do ill post back :D

Gulpin January 20th, 2011 4:50 PM

I hope that B/W RNG abuse is figured out before I finish the main storyline. It'll make shiny hunting way easier. I just hope that it isn't too hard.

shinyabsol1 January 20th, 2011 5:34 PM

I'm always hoping that I'll get in a wild battle with a shiny...but as of now it is yet to happen. :( But it will happen evetually...and when it does it will be posted here!
