Ho-Oh September 18th, 2010 11:32 PM

What is the most challenging aspect of B/W for you?

You're in a brand new world, you know nobody. The battles are tough, everything you do seems complicated and your friends are stronger than you. Which is the most challenging? Is it something else, such as understanding the actual storyline? Have you actually paused for a second and had to really think hard about something?

And no, just saying understanding Japanese doesn't count. :(

mervyn797 September 18th, 2010 11:34 PM

To be honest, I found getting through Huin City the most challenging job. Not to mention the gym battle in there, and that honey bee maze. :(

Nick September 18th, 2010 11:51 PM

Understanding Japanese!

So far the hardest thing I've had to do was choose a name, lmao. :(

I spent 30 minutes on the name screen trying to figure out what name name was in Japanese with romanji and traditional and all that. To no avail, I gave up and picked a bunch of random characters that I thought looked cool.

インフェルノの津波 September 18th, 2010 11:55 PM

Lol at Pat.

Um....I only got 10 minutes of experience, but I'll say choosing your Pokemon. Isshu's like Kanto, except better. All the Pokemon look awesome to at least someone.

And the second hardest part is not laughing at Bel.

MrGriszell September 19th, 2010 12:00 AM

To me it seams that leveling up takes a bit longer

solarowl September 19th, 2010 12:17 AM

I can't level up!??
Leveling up and the first pokemon gym maze. ( I borrowed my friends white for a bit.)

MrGriszell September 19th, 2010 12:30 AM

Its funny i thought it would be the japanese part, but im getting thru it fine, its not different than any other pokemon game. And pokebeach did a great job with the walk thru. Im actually gonna import this game now.

Sabi96 September 19th, 2010 12:30 PM

The most difficult was ordering the game

Just Joking. I really didn't understand Aloe's gym. I had to defeat all the trainers , or just ask oround, or read the books. I still don;t know, but i'm at the fourth gym now

Astinus September 19th, 2010 12:40 PM

And I'm so slow the "understanding Japanese" would only get me a "fail".

So I'm going to say the difficultly of grinding in this game. I love grinding. I really do, but something seems "off" in B/W. Like the experience is lower than what is to be expected from defeating enemies at the level I'm fighting. It just makes leveling up and grinding more like work to me, and that in turn makes the game itself challenging because I can't match my opponents' levels.

Planetes. September 19th, 2010 12:43 PM

barring japanese, I'd have to say the continous "Nuzlocke BS" I was weakening a Shimama-CRITICAL, I was looking for Dangoro in a cave-DERP BAT. Unless I can find a good Pokemon soon, I might go all the way through the game up to where Kojofuu lives with just Dez the Yanappu and Romo the Pokabu.

Arc September 19th, 2010 12:46 PM

Since, I know few basic words in Japanese. I can proceed a bit easier than others. But, the hardest aspect is knowing what Pokemon learn what moves, and evolve at what level! D:

Maxite September 19th, 2010 2:29 PM

Waiting for it to arrive is the most challenging aspect of it right now. Then it'll be understanding the Japanese. Then... well I'll update you all on that when I finally have the game in my hands.

TheAppleFreak September 19th, 2010 2:29 PM

Japanese D:

Probably figuring out what moves I got, what they do, and items.

If not understanding Japanese, it'd be this as well haha.

Sydian September 19th, 2010 2:50 PM

Japanese. Not knowing what's around the corner, where to go, ANY POKEMON NAMES WHATSOEVER, and not knowing gym leader levels. Oh. My. Gosh. Got my ass kicked.

Spoiler:
So far the Pokemon I've seen, as named by me, are:
Otter, Piggy, Snakey, Puppy, Ecstasy Squirrel, Sexy Cat, Blue Monkey lolol

yaminokaitou September 19th, 2010 6:51 PM

Probably understanding the moves. I can read Japanese and with a dictionary I can understand the plot to some extent, but I don't know what all the moves are in Japanese. Most of the time I look at the move details and just see if it does damage and what its element is and whatnot.

austy14 September 19th, 2010 8:02 PM

Well I'd call the entire thing hard. Everything's brand new, and in Japanese. But hardest thing so far is in general NO IDEA WHERE TO GO. I keep getting lost D:

●•ΛΣЯӨЩ•● September 19th, 2010 8:55 PM

Searching for a Fire Stone was pretty hard...

SKYNET September 20th, 2010 3:03 AM

cant read japanese, i got stuck after 7th badge, asked for help.
now i beat elite 4 and N, im stuck agian, waiting for help.

Noukon September 20th, 2010 3:21 AM

Trying to understand the japanese. =P

Though the gist is simple enough, i just have some issues.

coolnick37 September 20th, 2010 3:35 AM

>< lvling up my pokes, i never train them so when i arrive to a gym im always 1-3 lvls under :(
And the gym leaders seem to be much stronger then in the previous games, i acctually feel like having to use some strategy. :D it is much more challenging and i luv it

austin00081 September 20th, 2010 7:15 AM

The biggest challenge for me right now, is patience!
I'm still waiting for my game, and I probably wont have it until Thursday or Friday..

Youji September 20th, 2010 7:31 AM

For me the most challenging thing is training atm...somehow it's much harder to train in B/W than in any other generation... The levelings which where missing in G/S/C/HG/SS are now in B/W...I mean in no other generation, the levels of both, wild pokemon and trainers pokemon raised that fast. So you need to train quite a lot to keep on track... I've played around 20h now and have 5 badges and my pokes are around 34 - 38 :D

Also is it just me or are there less trainers on the routes than normal? I mostly train in the darker green grass as there are to less trainers where you can train optimally and in the dark green grass, you'll encouter stronger pokémon and sometimes 2 so you can raise a weaker one with a stronger one in slot 2 :D

Esmas September 20th, 2010 7:50 AM

The battles are a lot harder for me :/ My lvl 22 Chaobuu almost fainted to a lvl 14 Otamaru... yeah, I know :S And I actually lost to the first Gym Leader once, and some of the trainers inside the Gym. I HATE Bide >:

Creqaw September 20th, 2010 8:39 AM

Leveling was easy and the gym leaders/elite 4 were even easier, hardest thing was to find out the move names/item names/pokemon names/city names/gymleader names. obtaining the Liberty Ticket and using it, took me 2 hours Q_Q
