Choose - Your own adventure! [Hoenn]
Ok, so I saw the thread here before, but it was closed! So I’m now reviving it... only this time in Hoenn
The game is simple, you post a response to the event, and when one response gets 3 votes, the next event is posted, with the highest voted response being used. Here’s the first event: Today, you're 13th birthday, you wake up very suddenly, you know that today will be the day you get your first Pokémon. But you don't know which... As you walk down the stairs to your house, your mom isn't there! There is a note on the door "Gone to get your present. Meet me at Prof. Birch's Lab!" So, you start walking to the lab... On the way, you hear a yell! "Help! Somebody! Help!" What do you do? -Rush to the noise -Run and call help -Continue to the lab like nothing happened |
Rush to the noise gets my vote!
|
"Rush to the noise"
Seems like the obvious best choice. |
ok, so that makes:
Rush to the noise - 2 get help - 0 ignore - 0 well, I'm not going to vote, so we'll just have to wait for someone else! (also, I fixed [most] of the grammar errors, Diablerie) |
I'll pick Rush to the Noise just so I can fix that grammar issue in the title.
|
http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae289/CKmaster/RuupushinFront.gif*bashes Darkpulse with concrete for typing in white*
I guess I'll run to the noise |
ok, that's 4 for rushing to the noise, sorry guys!
you rush to the sound of the person calling for help, but they're being attacked by a wild Poocheyena! "Help! My bag! get that! (the poocheyena is between her and her bag) what do you do? throw her bag to her Run away like a little girl Look at the contents of her bag run to her side |
Look at the contents of her bag.
|
Look at the contents of her bag gets my vote!
PS: Can I make Choose your own adventure-Johto Edition? Choose your own adventure-Johto Edition is just like this, but set in Johto. |
ok, Dragonite, sure!
Give bag - 0 Check contents - 2 (you guys are theif's!) Run away - 0 Rush to her side - 0 Edit: ok, everyone - I'm going to be offline from now to the 17th of October. During my Absence, Diablerie will take over for me |
Hey guys, as Dark Pulse said I'll be continuing to run this until he gets back - I'll still be continuing on with the story he started and everything else will run the same.
So as it stands, we've got two votes for "Check Contents of the Bag"; we just need 1 more to continue. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/rstrainer01.png<- The girl |
Check the bag
Who knows? She might have food! |
Check the Bag
You take your eyes away from the girl and the Poochyena and look into the bag. There isn't much of use inside, but then right at the bottom you find three Poke Balls, one with a Torchic, one with a Treecko, and one with a Mudkip, all at level 5. You're a little nervous - Verdanturf Town is usually peaceful and you've never been in an actual battle before. But right now, you really don't seem to have much of a choice in the matter. *** "Those Pokemon..." said a man standing behind a nearby tree, "Are incredibly rare! Heh... Didn't think it'd work out this well..." *** The Poochyena has the girl cornered against a tree and you can't hesitate any further. What will you do? ____________________________ Lv4 Poochyena http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs010.gif Tackle ____________________________ Your Options -Release Treecko -Release Mudkip -Release Torchic -Fight Poochyena youself! http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs001.gifhttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs007.gifhttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs004.gif |
The 'Fight Poochyena Yourself' option sounds awesome.
|
I wanna use da Mudkip to battle da Poochyena!
|
Fight da stoopid mutt yourself! :) .. ( -Fight Poochyena youself! Option please ) xx <3
|
Due to the fact the previous "Choose - Your own adventure", ended up with some random answers, I will chose...
-Fight Poochyena yourself- |
Fight the Poochyena yourself!
Back in grade school, you were known to be very uncoordinated. Nonetheless, you dash towards Poochyena, trying to land a swift kick. It misses totally, and Poochyena comes barreling in with a Tackle attack to the gut. You try and fight back, but you slip in the mud and land on your butt, just in time to take another Tackle. The girl calls out to you: "Hey, kid! Release a Pokemon already! You can even keep the goshdarn thing! Just send something out! Anything!" You and the girl are both in pretty bad shape - it's obvious you're gonna have to release a Pokemon and take your chances with a battle. But which one? Your Options -Release Treecko -Release Mudkip -Release Torchic http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs001.gifhttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs007.gifhttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs004.gif |
RELEASE DA MUDKIP!!! I LIKE MUDKIPZ!!!
|
I'll agree with the above. Let's get a Mudkip in there.
|
Mudkip! MUDkip! MUDKIP!!!
SAMMY WANTS DA MUDKIP!!! |
Release Mudkip!
You release the Pokemon in the middle Poke Ball: it's a Mudkip! ________________ http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs007.gif Lv5 Mudkip Tackle Growl _______________ Poochyena comes running at you, and Mudkip jumps in the way, taking the hit. "Command it to use an attack!" yells the girl. "Er... attack?", you wonder. It's all Greek to you. The girl sighs. "Mudkip can use two attacks: Tackle and Growl. Use them against the Poochyena!" Poochyena was charging in with another Tackle. "Mudkip, Growl!" Mudkip Growled, slowing down the Tackle attack. "Now Tackle!" Mudkip slammed into Poochyena, knocking him out. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" says the girl. "Ah, why were you being chased by a Poochyena?" "I didn't do it on purpose! I stood on its foot by accident and... It doesn't matter! Anyways, the name's May, and I'm Professor Birch's assistant. You're that newbie trainer, right? You should stop by the Pokemon Centre later - the professor's waiting for you there. Anyways, he's probably wondering where I am, so I'd better go. Later!" As May leaves, you look down at your new Mudkip. You're so ecstatic to have a brand new Pokemon, you can't decide where to go next. As you're heading back into town, you see a silhouette off in the trees. You want to investigate, but don't wanna keep Prof. Birch waiting either. Where do you go? _____________________________________ Your Choice -Check out the silhouette. -Go to the Pokemon Centre. -Return to your house. _____________________________________ Team Spoiler:

lets check the silhouette!
|
Check out da silouhette! It could be a legendary pokemon!
|
Check the silhouette
On the previous 'Choose your own adventure', we ignored a rustling bush. Turned out to be Mew :D |
Hmm.. well, even if you rush after the silhouette the legendary would most likely run off. And you don't even have any pokeballs to catch it? PFFT.
So, I'm not going to be rude. Go to the PokéCenter |
Yes, but if we check out the silloute, and it's a legendary, we may be destined to cross paths with it later on.
Vote is in bold. |
Check out the Silhouette
You race into the bushes to check out the mysterious sillhouette. What could it be? A treasure chest? An uber rare Pokemon? You jump into the bush, ready to pounce onto the Pokemon and tumble headfirst into a man. You fall to the ground and look up. The man is staring down at you with ice-cold eyes. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/rstrainer09.png "Hey kid: if you don't wanna enter a world of pain, I suggest you scram. Now." You look at the ground beside him: it's the Poochyena you defeated before. "Hmm? Yes, you beat this pathetic loser already - I have no more need for him" The man kicked the Poochyena, and it scampered off into the bushes, whimpering. "I am a member of Team Aqua, kid. And unless you wanna be as beaten up as that Poochyena, I suggest you scurry on home." And with that, the man released a Pokemon. ______________ Lv27 Tentacruel http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs067.gif ______________ Your Options -Fight with Mudkip -Try to keep talking to the man -Rush back to the Pokemon Centre Sidenote: This wasn't explained earlier in the thread, but I'd just like to introduce Game Overs. If you get a bad enough choice that you die or something really bad happens, it's a Game Over. What that means is, you return back to the last set of options and pick again. Don't worry, that won't be for a while; there aren't any Game Overs this early in the game. Team Spoiler:

Rush back to the PokeCentre; Don't wanna get Mudkip's butt kicked by that high-level Tentacruel.
|
I'm going to be difficult and say that we should try talking to the man.
|
Wow, even spread so far:
Fight the Tentacruel - 1 Flee back to Pkmn Centre - 1 Try talking to the man - 1 |
Try talking, or begging. It may work, diffuse the anger.
|
Alright, so that makes it:
Fight the Tentacruel - 1 Flee back to Pkmn Centre - 1 Try talking to man - 2 |
*Talk to him*
Hmm. I guess we can stall him or something, but I'm not sure what 'Talking to him' will do though... |
Talk to the Man
You decide that there is a chance he may come after you if you simply fled, so you attempt to stall him instead. "What would Team Aqua want around here anyway?" you ask. "None of you business; that's between us and Arc..." he stopped, realising that he was about to blab. "Arc...?" you wonder, "What were you about to say?" "Arc... er... um... arc... Arctic circle is really chilly! That's what I was about to say! Anyway, get lost! Tentacruel, Sludge Bomb!" Tentacruel shoots the attack at you. You jump backwards, so the attack misses and shatters a large rock. Uh oh. You turn tail and run, back to the Verdanturf Pokemon Centre. You probably shouldn't have stuck around to talk to the man - looks like you goofed. :( * * * As you enter the Pokemon Centre, you see May and a brown-haired man, who you assume to be Prof. Birch, sitting at a table. You join them. "Oh, you must be the new trainer! I'm Professor Birch, the renowned Pokemon professor of Hoenn!" You tell them that you want to begin your journey. "He's already a decent trainer; he took down an aggresive Poochyena earlier right after getting his first Pokemon" said May. "Is that so?", said Birch, "Well I'll let you keep the Mudkip you used then. You should also take this Pokedex - it records data on any Pokemon you capture. And use these for capturing." he said, handing over 5 Poke Balls. "Oh, and take these too", said May, handing you a couple of bottles, "These are Potions, which can heal your Pokemon." "Now, you wanna take the Pokemon Gym challenge, yes?" said Birch, "Then you should head to either Rustboro or Mauville from here, for your first Gym battle. It's up to you." You thank the Professor and May, fully heal Mudkip, and prepare to head out on your journey. But where will you go? Visit House - 2 Mauville - 0 Rustboro - 0 |
lets go to rustboro, and beat roxanne! It should be quick

Visit our home
We can't leave before tellin' our mama! |
Visit Home
You return home, showing Mudkip and your Pokedex to your mother. "Oh, your father would be so proud... Here, take this! Uncle Joe gave it to me for Christmas, but I don't have any use for it. It's a Pokenav - it has a phone, maps, battle tips - apparently. Anyway, you should probably head for Mauville - I heard the Rusturf Tunnel's blocked, so Mauville should be easier." You pocket the Pokenav, say goodbye and head outside into the fresh Verdanturf air. You walk out onto Route 117, the connecting route between Verdanturf and Mauville. As you walk, you check out your Poke Balls. This would probably be a good time to catch another Pokemon. Which Pokemon do you want to try and capture? Your Options -Poochyena -Zigzagoon -Oddish -Tailow -Surskit -Marill -Seedot -Roselia -Corphish |
Roselia
No contest, my favourite Grass/Poison Pokemon. |
Poochyena! If we do get to catch one, can we nickname it EnaEna if a girl, EnoEno if a boy?
|
I would catch a Tailow! And I would call him "Fly"
|
Surskit
They are ao awesome! (especially after it evolves) |
Hn... We already have a Water Pokemon, so how about Oddish? That way we can eventually evolve it into a Bellossom.
|
Tailow
/could be useful later. It's a fast pokemon, and it can learn Fly. |
I'm going to end this seemingly long debate by saying Taillow.
It's a very good pokemon to have, especially for the second gym. |
tailow! fly and is a good poke.
|
Note: Just a reminder to everybody that as the character started in Verdanturf, the Mauville Gym will most likely be first (the way this is going, anyway), not Rustboro and Dewford. You'll still go there at some point, but not for a little while.
Try to Capture Tailow! You wade through the tall grass for a while, and eventually find what you're looking for: a Tailow! _____________________ Lv8 Tailow http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pkrs025.gif Peck Growl Focus Energy Quick Attack ________________ The battle begins with both Mudkip and Tailow Growling at each other. Tailow then swoops in with a speedy Quick Attack, slamming Mudkip backwards. Mudkip tries Mud-Slap, but Tailow flies up and the Ground-type attack has no effect whatsoever. Tailow divebombs Mudkip with a Peck, and Mudkip meets it head-on with a Tackle. Mudkip jumps in the air and delivers another Tackle to Tailow, causing it to retreat slightly. Both Pokemon have taken a fair bit of damage now, so what do you do? Your Options -Attack again with Tackle -Throw a Poke Ball -Use a Potion on Mudkip Team Spoiler:

Tailow takes advantage of you being distraction to hammer Mudkip with another Quick Attack, which is met head-on with a Tackle. But Tailow uses its speed and hits Mudkip with another Peck. Mudkip goes flying back and lands at your feet. It's now close to fainting, but Tailow is a little weaker too. As you examine Mudkip, Tailow spreads its wings and begins to fly away. What do you do? Since Taillow will be weak at the gym anyways, we'll catch that or another Pokemon later. Let's focus on Mudkip now and get healed at Verdanturf. Friends come first :).

|
....throw mudkip :P
pokeball is my choice :) |
Pokeball. Mudkip can wait (what idiot decided on Mudkip, Sammy!?).
|
Throw another Poke Ball
You piff another Poke Ball at Tailow as he's about to fly away. Tailow is beamed insided and the Poke Ball falls to the ground. One shake... two shakes... three shakes... sparks! Tailow was caught! *** After a quick trip back to Verdanturf to heal your Pokemon, you continue down the road to Mauville City. As you do, a young boy with his back to you stands in the path. He has Poke Balls on his belt, so you assume he is a trainer. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/frlgemtr/frlgemtr055.png "Hey, you!" you call out. The boy turns around. You've seen this frail-looking boy before, hanging around Verdanturf, but you've never spoken to him. "O-oh, h-h-hi..." says the boy nervously, "Y-you're a trainer too?" "Yup! Wanna battle?" "Uh... sure... I guess..." He lookes positively terrified at the thought. "By the way, my n-name's Wally..." "Ok Wally, how about a one-on-one battle?" "Sure..." Mudkip is weaker than Tailow, we need to train him! :)
|
Use Riptide! (Our Mudkip)
|
Riptide? *Burns all evidence of the nickname*
Mudkip He needs some more practise compared to Tailow, and it seems to be a rather balanced fight (Let's just hope HiddenPower isn't Grass/Electric-type!) |
Mudkip!
It isn't completely Sammy's fault, Kei Okay it is... |
Taillow, has a higher chance of weakening Raltz who is super rare so we can catch him.
|
Uhm... no it isn't, Sammy. v____v
Considering it's a trainer Pokemon and we're not thieves, I'm going to go with almost everyone else in bringing out Mudkip. Needs the Experience. |
Release Mudkip!
Mudkip emerges and quickly hammers Ralts with a Mud-Slap. And, for the first time since you've known him, you see a smile creep onto Wally's face. "Ralts! Hidden Power!" Ralts suddenly shoots a yellow Hidden Power at Mudkip blasting him back. As Mudkip falls to the ground, yellow sparks come flying off. "Y'see... Ralts has an electric-type Hidden Power attack... Which is bad news for Mudkip." You grimace. Of all the crappy luck. "Ralts! Hidden Power!" Another Hidden Power comes flying at Mudkip. "Mud-Slap!" you cry. The Mud-Slap deflects part of the Hidden Power, but Mudkip still takes a bad hit. Ralts is preparing another Hidden Power. You look around frantically. Ralts, charging it's attack is dead ahead, to your left is a large crumbling and dying tree and to your right is a flowerbed - could these help at all? You return to the battle. Mudkip is standing helplessly as Ralts is seconds away from firing the finishing blow - no time to get a Potion to Mudkip. What do you do? So thats:
Charge ahead with Tackle: 1 Mud-Slap to the left: 2 Mud-Slap to the right: 0 Cry flee and ditch Mudkip: 0 |
This is going to end badly anyways, so I'll just say Mud-Slap To the left.
|
Mud-Slap the tree. Please and thank you. :D
|
Mud-Slap to the Left!
Ralts was charging Hidden Power, preparing to deliver the final blow. "Mudkip... Mud-Slap to your left!" Mudkip jumped to the left, Mud-Slapping the already slanting and decaying tree. It falls slowly to the ground. Wally and Ralts stare at the tree nervously as it collapsed, the Hidden Power half-charged in Ralts' hands. This gives you the opening you need as you slip Mudkip a Potion. Not only that, but seeing the half-charged Hidden Power has given you an idea. "Ralts, Hidden Power!" called Wally, returning his attention to the battle. "Now! Tackle!" you yell. The Tackle slams Ralts while it's still charging the attack. Ralts was sent spinning, firing the Hidden Power way off-course. "Come on! Hidden Power!" "Quickly, Tackle!" Once more, Mudkip charge in and slammed Ralts before Hidden Power could be fully charged. "Gr... Have to change tactics. Confusion!" Ralts held Mudkip up in mid-air with its psychic powers. But you've seen enough pro-battling on TV to know how to deal with this. "Mudkip! Growl!" Mudkip growled at Ralts, breaking its concentration and making Mudkip fall back down. "End it now with Mud-Slap!" And before Ralts could even begin charging a new attack, the Mud-Slap finished Ralts off. *** "Hey, thanks for the battle!" you say to Wally afterwards. "Y-you too. By the way... do you want this? I don't really need it." says Wally, handing you a TM10, Hidden Power. "I'll see you around. I guess." And with that, the young trainer walked away. The moment he was gone... "YES! I ACTUALLY WON A REAL POKEMON BATTLE! Yeah, baby, yeah!" *** You continue your trip to Mauville and realise you're close to reaching the city. Is there anything else you want to do before reaching the city? Your Options -Training session! -Teach TM10 to one of your Pokemon. -Nope. Head into Mauville now. Training Session!
You decide to put off your entry into Mauville for a while to train your Pokemon. They both get a bit stronger, and Mudkip learns Water Gun once it hits Lv10. Satisfied, you set up camp for the night. *** As you sit at your campfire, you watch Mudkip and Tailow. Rydel's since we need a bike. :D
I hate gambling anyways XD. |

You decide that you want a bicycle. You head over to Rydel's Cycles and ask for a bike. "Sure kid." says the attendant, "What price range were you looking for? 10,000 Poke Dollars?" "Uh... I don't really have that kind of money..." you say. Looks like you won't be getting a bike after all... A man, with a nametag saying 'Rydel' comes out from behind the counter. "Well hold on there, Bob..." says Rydel. Rydel and the sales person go into a huddle and start talking. You're not sure what they're talking about, but you pick up on key phrases like "just what we need" and "business opportunity". Eventually Rydel emerges from the huddle and comes back over to you. "Well kid, just because I'm a real sweetheart, you can have this Mach Bike for free. The only condition is, I just want you to do a little advertising for me." * * * You stare proudly at your new bike.
