Tentacool, he needs training

dark_ho-oh November 6th, 2010 8:10 PM

Use Marshtomp
Cause he need more power to defeat Wattson.

Christopher November 6th, 2010 8:15 PM

Use Marshtomp i think there is some untapped potential there also we will not need or really be able to use Tailow or tentacool against Wattson so we should train our only hope

Dark Pulse94 November 6th, 2010 10:07 PM

now, I'm not voting, but remember: Tailow was our only hope against Voltorb last time, so consider that when making your choice...

so far:

Marshtomp - 2
Tailow - 0
Tentacool - 1

vote wisely!

Makbets November 7th, 2010 12:23 AM

I vote for Tentacool, cause he needs training!

Ynfiniti8 November 7th, 2010 12:32 AM

Tentacool. We might use marshtomp next trainer though.

GrifSpark November 7th, 2010 11:07 AM

Tentacool it is then! I guess this post was rather irelevant, but I felt the need to add some kind of input...

Diablerie November 8th, 2010 1:26 AM

Send out Tentacool!
Tentacool emerges, wrapping its tentacles around Zigzagoon in a Constrict attack, doing quite a bit of damage. However, Zigzagoon uses Sand-Attack, flicking sand into Tentacool's face. Although it didn't lower it's accuracy due to Clear Body, it distracted it just long enough for Zigzagoon to slip free from the Constrict and ram Tentacool with two Headbutts. Tentacool faints.
"Dangit... Tentacool, return. Finish it, Tailow, with Quick Attack!" you cry, sending out Tailow who quickly finishes off the weakened Zigzagoon.
"Not bad, kid." says Mr Seashore, "You took out one trainer, but one of your team members is gone now. Now what?" The second trainer, a Black Belt, steps up and releases their Pokemon, a Machop.

Keep out Tailow, use Wing Attack! Flying is super effective to fighting.

Makbets November 8th, 2010 7:16 AM

Okay, Keep Tailow and use Wing Attack!

We have 3 votes! :)

Diablerie November 8th, 2010 12:33 PM

Keep Tailow and use Wing Attack!
Tailow zooms in close and slams Machop with her wings, doing a large amount of damage. But the trainer just smiles.
"Machop... Counter!" Machop leaps towards Tailow, glowing white, and hits him with a mighty punch, knocking it out.
"Sorry kid." says Mr Seashore. But maybe you should've payed attention to Machop's moveset before making your choice?" You recall Tailow, and send out your last Pokemon, Marshtomp. Machop leaps forward and Karate Chops it, doing some decent damage, but Marshtomp retaliates with a Mud Shot that knocks it out. The final trainer steps up, and releases their Pokemon.

Hmm If we use antidote we'll just be hit with Toxic again. negating a whole turn and putting Marshtomp in a bad situation. So I vote for
Use Mud Shot Reasoning its the strongest ground attack we have and with dustox be part poison our best bet.

Dark Pulse94 November 8th, 2010 10:05 PM

Antidote... for sure

Marshtomp cannot faint

RobotUnicorn November 9th, 2010 5:03 PM

Lets use a Potion. Marshstomp needs it.

Dark Pulse94 November 9th, 2010 9:58 PM

ok... that's

Mud Shot - 1
Mud-slap - 0
Potion - 1
Antidote - 1

pretty even today

Makbets November 10th, 2010 1:16 AM

Hmm.....it's hard choice......Antidote!

AuraPaladin November 10th, 2010 4:22 AM

Well, IIRC, Toxic takes 8 turns max to kill something. We're on about turn...4? Plus we have already taken damage.

If we use a potion, at this rate, we'll lose 20 HP due to toxic alone.
If we use an antidote, this buys us some more time, but leaves us vunerable to another toxic, as geruvagen has already stated.
If we use Water Gun, we get a normal attack that does normal damage. Wheee.
Mud Shot does the most damage, but is otherwise just vanilla.

However, I'm going to suggest Mud Slap. After this, we (hopefully) can heal up, and with a couple of accuracy demodifiers, plus Toxic's shaky accuracy to begin with, it suddenly becomes that much harder to poison. Unfortunately, if we Mud-Slap first, we take more damage then if we just used an antidote, then mud-slapped.

So, I'm going to suggest an antidote.

((I really hope I'm not looking too deep into this...))

Dark Pulse94 November 10th, 2010 10:05 PM

I think you are, but It's only turn 2 of Toxic... and a level 18 Marshtomp has less than 40 health...

anyway,

Antidote it is! no more votes!

Diablerie November 11th, 2010 12:00 AM

@DarkPulse - Although turns don't mean much most of the time in this game, as it's possible to get several consecutive moves in, it actually would be turn 4, cos of all those other moves that were attempted that got blocked.
@AuraPaladin - No, putting thought into it is a good thing. :) Looking at in logically would usually help get the best answer.

Use an Antidote!
You reach down and give Marshtomp an Antidote. Dustox, who had been anticipating another attack attempt, uses a useless Gust attack into mid-air. Marshtomp is no longer poisoned, but Dustox is looking mutinous, it'll probably attempt another Toxic, so it might not be able to deflect your attack. What do you want to use?

-Use Mud Shot
-Use Mud-Slap
-Use Water Gun
-Use Bide

Mud-Slap... Marshtomp, Being a higher level, is faster than Dustox, so Mud-Slap will Lower Dustox's Accuracy, therefore making it harder to use Toxic...

Makbets November 11th, 2010 12:56 AM

Mud-slap..........it could work....

AuraPaladin November 11th, 2010 1:11 AM

@ Diablere, I thought that DarkPulse was right. Doesn't a turn consist of each pokemon moving? I made an error, I'll admit to that. But the strategy remains the same.

Alright, now for the plan to (hopefully) work.

Mud-Slap for pretty much the same reason that DarkPulse suggested. Let's get this mud on.

Dark Pulse94 November 12th, 2010 1:23 AM

ok... 3 for Mus-Slap... Votes are Closed!

(note: I am Co-host, and as I'm online before Diablerie, I notify him what option wins)

Diablerie November 12th, 2010 1:39 AM

Mud-Slap Dustox!
You seize the chance to one-up Dustox and slam him with a Mud-Slap. The mud blinds Dustox, throwing the Toxic way off target. Marshtomp slams Dustox with several more Mud-Slaps.
"End it with Mud Shot!" you yell as Marshtomp fires the attack.
"Deflect it with Gust!" yells the trainer, but the Gust flies off in completely the wrong direction and the Mud Shot hits Dustox, knocking it out.

"Congrats kid, you sure showed me some hot battles! Take this six-pack of Soda Popas your reward!"
Afterwards, you visit the Pokemon Centre and walk back down the street, meeting up with Wattson.
"Ready for your rematch kid?" asks Wattson.
"Of course!" you say.
"As a two-on-two single battle, you own't be able to use your whole team, so pick your best two when they're needed. You've gotten a lot stronger... but so have I! Voltorb, go!" And he releases that familiar speedy Voltorb.
