Do you do stupid things you later regret?
I for one have done plenty of stupid things that when I look back on it and think that it was a horrible mistake or wow I'm glad I did that because I know not to ever do it again. I think it's ok to do some stupid things you later regret because you can learn from your mistakes. If for example, you rob a bank and later get caught and sent to prison for how many years, you can say, "I've learned my lesson and am never doing that again." Or you can be stupid and keep making mistake after mistake and never learn.
We all learn from mistakes. :] |
I regretted a lot of things in my early life. One of those things was being too talkative (talking when I should be just sitting there). I also regretted spending too much time online in school because I got relatively low grades during 10th grade (last year).
Yes, we all do. I have several myself, but I am not going to list them! We learn from our choices, experiences and mistakes and often strive to be perfect which in fact no-one is. I try to make as little mistakes as possible so I don't have the feelings of regret or guilt depending on which feeling suits which/current/past situation.
We all make mistakes. That doesn't mean we can't learn from them.
Of course I do. I won't go into detail, bu this is why I have very few irl friends. XD
Yea. Too many to count. I regret basically everything I did for more then half of my life.
I used to.
Vandalism, drunk driving, I did it all at some point or another. Except drugs. Now, I look back and think how stupid I used to be. Haven't done anything exceptionally stupid for three years, and I'm glad. |
I've done plenty, particularly online on other forums which has made me the most hated person on said forums. Oh yeah, and some IRL stupid things I'd rather not go into detail here.
I think most of us have done at least a few things in our lives that we've later regretted. |
I regret many things, but I learn from those regrets. If you ever hear anyone say that they live with no regrets, they're either lying or they live a really, really boring life.

I couldn't count the amount of mistakes I've made in the past and that I still do. Do I learn from them all? Most of them, yes. Sometimes I react before thinking and make the same mistake twice. Though, I usually learn by then. I will say I have regretted some, but those are usually the ones I try not to do a second time.
Oh, and moved this to OVP since it's just that type of thread. |
It's sort of an unwritten ritual for me to count the number of things I regret doing each day before I go to bed, haha.
Um, yeah, I do less things I regret now, but in the paaaast yeah a lot more~
...wait I mean I do more stupid things that I reg-- okay let's just say in the past; yes, now; not so much. |
Of course I do. Making mistakes and learning from it, it's a common human behavior. But really, I did embarrassing and stupid stuff that I regret immediately after. I wont say it here cause it's highly embarrassing. D:
Plenty. I've made some pretty messed up choices and I've did some regrettable things. I try to give thought to it before I do anything these days. .//.
while i acknowledge my mistakes i acknowledge my humanity so i wouldn't go as far as calling my memory of these mistakes 'regrets'- instead of dwelling on certain decisions i view them as tools to help me better myself and i accept that these past actions can't be changed, so they simply become memories rather than regrets.
Ohh, yes. I did many many stupid things that I regret my first few months on PC being a great example. I've leaned a lot from my mistakes... Hindsight is 20/20, and all that.
I really cannot say as many dumb mistakes that I've made, but I can say a few. A lot of the time I get frustrated at my self, but I later regret it. So yes, but its honestly 50/50 with me.
I wouldn't say I'd regret my mistakes, I learn from them then advance forwards to improvement. When I do make them, sure I'll think "Damn, that was stupid" but later on I realise I can learn from it.
I would necessarily regret my mistakes, because usually for me, a mistake leads to a learning experience, an expierence that i wouldn't otherwise have. The mistake is almost a good thing, because you learn from it and gain something you originally didn't have.
Does procrastination count? I did nothing for the entire weekend and most of today, and tomorrow I have to give a presentation and write an exam. I'm screwed. And still I post here instead of actually doing my stuff. Aaargh.
Well, of course I have. Who hasn't? I have done a lot in life which I now regret. Of course, I wont list it all but I can say a lot of it is embaressing.
I've yet to decide whether I'm happy with the outcome of all my decisions, so I'm not totally sure if I have any regrets.
Do I dwell on them? No. I don't really think about it often because what's done is in the past and even if I did decide that I regret it, it's not something I can change. I always do what I feel is right at the time, so even if I later realise I was wrong I just accept that it felt like a good idea at the time and later take it into consideration when I'm facing a similar situation. I may decide to do the "wrong" thing again, depending on the outcome of the last time. I only really care about the results, rather than the process, so if the outcome is a good one then I don't care if I make mistakes along the way. |
Embarrassing things that I've regret doing...yes I have a lot. But as for important decisions, I often linger in between. There's a lot of decisions that I've made that made my life this way, some in ways I dislike and some in ways I like. But sometimes, when I actually bother to think through things, I often find myself thinking that if my life replayed, I'd make the same decisions, despite how stupid my decisions sometimes were :/
Of course I have. Some days, it feels like too many to count. >_<; I have a bad habit of procrastinating, and also of not thinking ahead. Between the two of them... yeah. Happens a lot. I tend to dwell too much on it, too... wish I didn't.
I'm human, so yes.
I wont really say what I did. But it makes me a sad Surmonter. :( 1000th post can suck it |
I'm rather absent-minded, so I make really stupid mistakes all the time, sometimes repeatedly. Most of them are petty and forgettable, but I can't help but think to myself "gosh, that was stupid" when I realize it (usually instantly). I don't make such a big deal out of things enough to really regret, though.
well for me i regret getting kicked out of school 3 years ago....just for easy money.and i also regret continuiing in such activities after getting kikced out... but i am now working with wonderful people and the future might be good one so one lesson might be that if your truely a good person and have a heart no matter what mistakes you make stay positive and do start doing good... we're all human..........and stay in school!
I literally just wrote an essay on this 20 minutes ago. Basically, I should remember to tell people I love them. I might not see them the next day, or for a long time, or even ever again.
Everyone does!
This is kinda obvious... |
YES. Like skip class and then have your teacher forgive you for coming out with it, but warning you not to do it again, otherwise the consequences are maxed. ;;
Annnnd, also for having a big mouth. >_> |
Most people do (nobody's perfect :D), but I have one that will stay strong with me until I'm out of school.
Not very often, I don't do a lot of stupid things, but have done some stuff nobody would exactly have a word for saying ;;. I'm usually the teen who try's to act better than most kids/teens around here which cause hectic trouble very often.
