I'm thinking of buying that game, Cabbage.
Will it keep me busy for a while? |
It's a good game. It kept me busy for a while because I loved it and played it beyond the end (which I've done for, what, two games? it and FFTA2)
|
Alright, I'll try to save up and get it, expecting that I can get it at my local Gamestop.
BTW, is Gamecrazy out of business? |

Also, way to move the goalposts. The actual topic was the merits of Japanese "RPGs" and Western RPGs. Instead of actually discussing what you like about Japanese RPGs or further explaining what you didn't like about Fallout 3 (you're yet another person who hasn't played the first two), you namedrop studios that haven't developed or published any RPGs at all. What kind of point are you trying to make? What do the developers of Half-Life, Uncharted, Killzone, Halo, and Bioshock have to do with the developers of Fallout and Final Fantasy? |
Um, he's trying to say that he just doesn't like Western RPGs, not Western developers as a whole (ie. the namedropping of western stuff)

because, audy, we aren't kids. therefore, we argue and troll more. :)
|
And Pokémon is an Eastern RPG?

millions of people worldwide can't be wrong, brah. Eastern RPGs sell tens of millions more than western ones. :P

The only Bethesda game I've played is Oblivion, which I'm playing now. (Well, not this moment but I've been playing it recently.)
I find it a little hard to get into simply because it's so open. @[email protected] I kind of prefer linear plots and characters because I don't get so damn sidetracked so easily! I told myself, in order to actually beat the game so I can get on to other things in my backlog, I'd only do the main quest threads and ignore everything else. That... has not been happening. :( I accidentally ended up in the DLC and now I've just given up on trying to beat it before the end of the year, lol. It's definitely a matter of taste. x_X I have no attention span so dropping me in a world and letting me go wherever and do whatever is bad, because essentially nothing gets done, but stuff like FF13 was immensely boring exploration-wise. :( I wonder if there's a series that strikes a good balance? I kind of think the Tales of series it the only one I can think of but even that's pretty typical JRPG fare. |

This thread took a turn for the worst when I went to sleep! XD |
Most threads take a turn for the worst when they wind under bridges and unwanted passengers join the ride.
|
That isn't the case though, otherwise the whole forum would be in chaos and it doesn't look to be in chaos to me.
It is just some individuals being the catalysts. Trust me, I know about it. |

Also, bitter thread is bitter. If you haven't got anything nicer to say about each other, you might as well not say anything at all. /acting parent-ish |
Everyone seems to be into those RPG/Sandbox games, which is what I consider Fallout 3/New Vegas to be. Basically do whatever you want and follow the main plot if you want to.
Also, I would really really like to have Fable 3. |
Well, I don't blame them. Sandbox games and simulation games in the vein are awesome. See also: The Movies, Sim City. ^_^
|
I've never been into those sorts of games. Simulation games are alright, but Sandbox is where I draw the line. I've played Fallout 3 and got abducted by aliens and didn't really like it. Heck I even bought Minecraft and got bored of it easily.
I like games where you have a clear mission and you have to complete it to that time. I've enjoyed games like GTA IV and Saints Row and found them enjoyable since they had a mission which you could do, as well as go out and do whatever you feel like. |
I prefer more open-ended games, and, if one were to log all the hours I spent playing games in my life, probably 55% would be devoted to simulation and strategy games. (It'd be higher, but Pokemon has a pretty large share itself).
|
The highly technical simulator games are not what I like at all. I just play games for fun, that's just my choice. XD
|
What's your definition of a highly technical simulator?
|
Flight Simulator X.
I just want to have some casual simulator games. |
Do you consider Sim City casual? Or The Sims? :3 both games have droves of hardcore fans, though
|
/shrugs
I've never tried playing those games, so can't say. :x |
You should totally play those game series. Seriously worth your time. Of course, this is coming from someone who loves games like Sim City and Civilization.
|
Hmm.. I'll be sure to try those games. My personal favourites are mostly strategy games; Rise of Nations and Command & Conquer series topping my favourites list.
