The second part of my post was directed at... nobody, actually xD
Yeah, I can be like that sometimes.

Even now I still have quite a bit of that season to catch up to since I've been quite busy. Truthfully, it was my boyfriend who got me to watch any of it at all and...yeah, I'd have to agree that from watching it, Drew and May make an irritatingly amusing couple to ship. XD;

I can understand, I did the same for Pokemon, I thought it was "childish" at the time though. XD; Hoenn is probably one of my favourite regions for the anime, though. But, yes, go your boyfriend for getting you to watch the Hoenn region! :D Have you from what you've watched so far enjoyed that region? They really are and amusing, it's the constant arguing that makes it so possible, I'm not sure how, but it does...

Captain Hobo. Brock is indeed the best character out of all them. :D

I love Brock too, CH! He's so funny and I always found that running gag with him getting clobbered when he flirts to be so amusing. XD

Pfft, when has any of us during our days not feel at some point that Pokemon was a bit childish? Then again with everybody focusing a little too much on growing up and knowing how to handle responsibilities, I know a good number of people could stand to rekindle their inner child and immerse in the things that made them happy. Even though I'm busy with college nowadays and that I have a future to think about, even the fact that I'm going on 20 in January, I can never forget about the things that have made me happy as both a child and as a teenager. If anything, we may grow with age, but we're still young at heart no matter how old we are.

...whew, sorry for the tangent! Anyway, yeees. My boyfriend loved the Hoenn season and I adore the third generation games above all others so it seemed absolutely perfect. XD;

None of the main characters of the anime really struck a chord with me.

Now, if they had bothered to include Blue/Leaf-chan... Then again, they might have totally messed up her character, so maybe it's better she wasn't in the anime :/

Haha, you have no idea how disappointed I was to see that Leaf never appeared in the anime at all. The fact that she was also neglected in HeartGold and SoulSilver gives me the impression that she's overlooked even by the creators as well. It's extemely annoying because she is my favourite female protagonist of all time. :\ I also dislike Dawn incredibly because at first glance, she seemed like a carbon copy of Leaf, and my viewpoint of that hasn't changed whatsoever. She's also one of the most overrated characters in the fandom to date, it's like she's been leeching all the appreciation Leaf as a character should have had from the beginning, it's grating.

Yes, I do think that most of us have gone through the whole childish days when it does come to Pokemon. Yes, everyone should be responsible but with that childish streak being able to appear every so often. It makes life, I dunno, more fun. Well you should think about your future, of course, it's the rest of your life your going to have to plan for. Memories are the greatest things to make one happy again in the deepest moods is what I've always thought anyway.

No, don't worry about it. It's true what you said. :D It does seem perfect in your case, after all if a fan of the game the anime has to be somewhat good. XD I was sort of the same in the way I loved the third generation.

Gabri October 3rd, 2010 1:16 PM

Oh, I didn't like the third gen. games. At all.
But I did like some of the Pokémon. Specially the Steel-types~

Well, I do take some comfort in knowing that at least they didn't give Leaf the annoying personality that they gave Dawn. And personally, I would have liked to seen her go on her own adventure, independent of Ash/Brock/whoever else, maybe as a spin-off series or something. I really don't want to see them make her like Dawn with the grating personality and the "cute" Pokemon with equally grating personalities...

Leaf should have been a trainer in the anime who kicked some serious butt.

Opinions do differ. :D
Although I aren't a big steel fan, I have to agree, the Steel Pokemon where quite impressive in that game. Jirachi was the best in my opinion.

I agree, there just ought to be that good balance of work and leisure to keep one fairly satisfied as they progress with their life. Lord knows I'd hate to be incredibly formal-minded and to take for granted the little things that once made us happy, would seem as if you turned that aspect of your personality into a dud and that would make it difficult to understand the needs of other people as well as children. We're all human beings and we need our creature comforts, can't keep relying on one thing for too long without eventually yearning for the other.

Tch, the third generation is so underrated it's ridiculous, I don't actually understand what's so bad about it that people often bash it. It's got such vibrant places and even an interesting plot, one that actually captivated me more than the Johto games ever managed to at all. I remember when I first got to the point where the legendary of your version causes a huge weather conflict and that actually made me rather excited to keep going at the game for longer.

I didn't like the games because they were a pain in the ass to beat.
They're probably the hardest of all gens.

Signomi October 3rd, 2010 1:37 PM

Well that's a better reason than what I had in mind!

...come to think of it, I actually found it more difficult than any of the other games as well, guess that's another reason why I was so sucked into it the first time I played it.

Kura October 3rd, 2010 1:37 PM

I dunno.. I like all pokemon games. I buy them, I enjoy them.. 'nough said.. ._. I don't need to put them on a rating system..

What did little Christie have in mind? :D

The damn gen III games made me almost quit playing them when I reached the 6th and 7th gyms. The level difference is HUGE.

Yes their should be, holidays are needed from too much hard work. California here I come~! I need a rest from school. XD; Aha, I'm kinda one sometimes, so really I'm going to be one of those people in a sort-of manner I suppose-ish. But I do understand your views, those who do rely those on minor things can be a little too reliant on it and that can be rather bad for them, but I guess for me, to remember those things that made you happy once can be a good thing to look back to as well. Maybe that's just me in this case, but yes.

I don't understand the apparent flaws with it either, it was a fantastic plot and when Emerald came along it created our fancy double battle which we have now. It is probably the only Pokemon game I will ever think of playing now, Diamond, Pearl and Platinum just bore me after the third generation.

Now, now Signomi, calm. Deep breaths. XDDD

Ooh, Cali sounds like a great place to go for some leisure time, you can only have so much of school before you want to go out there and wash away your cares for a time. XD; Oh it isn't only you...I like looking back at the things that once made me happy and they probably will still have that effect on me, if anything, I also use them for motivation as well, even the little things that can put a smile on my face can help me with the trials and tribulations of everyday life.

Oh Emerald...apart from the overload of double-battles, I actually enjoyed it very much, the plot tweaks and the inclusion of the vast Battle Frontier has made it my favourite Pokémon game of all time.

I am calm! ...well, now I am! XD;

@Gabri: I thought you just didn't like theeeeem. *whimpers*

And yeah, I didn't like the tremendous level gap either. <_< The 7th gym was such a pain, the Solrock and Lunatone were at least level 41 and 42 respectively and usually enough my Pokemon were barely scraping level 39 at that stage.

Mine were barely in the 30s.
But I still managed to beat them. (Hint: Load your bag with Hyper Potions and Revives. A couple of Full Heals may also come in handy. Have one or two Pokémon that know Surf and you'll be fine)

Even in FR/LG, which also has big level gaps, it wasn't so hard. I've beat the E4 in LG with my strongest Pokémon being at lv.47 (I think it was a Vaporeon, but I'm not sure) and in Ruby it wasn't enough because that damn Metagross was always screwing me up. But oh well. After several hours of raising, a couple of Earthquakes coming from a lv.52 Flygon took it out.

K, I'm off to sleep. See y'all tomorrow.

It really does, don't I wish I had the money to go now. Ahhh... School is really one of those places where eventually you do just get bored and really can't wait for sometime away for a place where they fill your brain with whatever knowledge their shooting at you. Of course school is a good thing, I can't fight that matter, but still...they overload it. Oh good, I'm not the only memory lover. XD Yes they do seem to still make you happy even if you've grown up since that time or it's been a matter of days since the happening, it's just one of those things.

I think they just overloaded it with double battles because they wanted to show off their new feature, which they did, but yes it was overly used in the game. I agree with that, the fact the story line was so different from the other games is what made it one of the best in the series, something unique and new. Emerald was the best of the three.

Aha, good. :D No being nerved Signomi. XD;

Oh boy, I don't know how you managed to get by with Pokemon just about level 30 at that stage. @[email protected]; I level grind a lot and I usually get by with each of my Pokemon at around level 39 at the latest.

But man, I always seem to have trouble with the Elite Four in every generation, usually takes me a couple of tries before I can actually beat them all.

Also, night. :D

Ah that's very true, but at the same time the reverse can be just as true as well. When you have so much free time on your hands, you'll find yourself yearning to be more busied, and you may even end up envying anybody who complains about things like work and education because they have something going for them in their lives at this very minute. It's not fun to be stuck in limbo and it kinda feels like you've been shut away from the world for a long time if you don't make proper use of the time you have to yourself. x_x; I've been through that before and it is enough to make you depressed.

Ohoho they showed it off enough, the double battles got really irritating after a while because I'd always mix up the places in which certain trainers appear, and I'd often forget I'm not playing Ruby and Sapphire anymore so the battles would obviously differ. XD;

Nah, I can't be nerved at...holy crap 11 PM.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 3rd, 2010 2:04 PM

No matter what the game, I do an insane amount of level grinding. My thing with R/S/E was that by the time I got to Victory Road, my Electrode and Bellossom were in the neighborhood of Lv 53 while everyone else was at 46 or 47... because of all the Water-type trainers :o
