Poke-Master November 26th, 2004 6:49 AM

o yah my team

o i 4got here's my own team for FIRERED. if u want to be influenced by it, read below! Alos you will understand the format more! :P

Blastoise (male) @Mystic Water
Ability: Torrent
Surf
Ice Beam
Earthquake
Hydro Cannon

OK OK u don't hav 2 put d nature anymore!

Blissey (female) @Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Counter
Psychic
Ice Beam
Softboiled

Salamence (male) @King's ROck
Ability: Intimidate
Fly
FLamethrower
Earthquake
draGOn CLAW

Kingdra (male) @Leftovers
Ability: Swift Swim
Surf
Rain Dance
Dragonbreath
Hyper Beam/Facade

Tyranitar (male) @King's ROck
ABility: Sand Stream
Aerial Ace
Dragon CLaw
Earthquake
Crunch

Mewtwo @Bright powder
Ability: Pressure
psychic
strength
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball

Now the explanation.

Blastoise is both defensive and strong, making it the best among the three starters. SUrf, the best Water-type attack (in my opinion), can clobber many, especially with STAB and if there is rain. Ice Beam can eliminate the hated Grass types. Earthquake is to rid all those pesky Electric types. Hydro Cannon, as we all know, gains the faithful STAB, and its like a watertype Hyper Beam.

Blissey may not look like much, but she's actually a powerhouse. A very obvious combo is: Lure the foe to attack Blissey with a physical attack. Since her defense is poor, Counter, which returns double physical damage, can kill even Deoxys if you're lucky. Ice Beam and Psychic will make good use of Serene Grace, and of course we should have a recovering move if possible.

O yeah Salamence, the Mighty One and one o' my faves. Fly will gain STAB plus kill even the toughest Machamp because of that mammoth ATtack! FLamethrower can melt all the hated Ice types. Earthquake is a very powerful move, and can eliminate many. Dragon Claw, is, of course, for STAB and advantage of that great Special Attack.

Kingdra? Well, yes he's powerful. Use Rain Dance to speed him up and even make Surf stronger. Hyper Beam or Facade - your choice. Dragonbreath will use STAB and its paralysis effect.

Rock and Dark are BOTH weak 2 fighting, so Tyranitar can be slaughtered by a Machamo if you're not careful. But Fighting types hate FLying, so Aerial Ace will work here, because Tyranitar's formidable enemies are slightly slower than he is. Dragon Claw is a filler, plus for those Dragon types who wanna murder him. Earthquake is handy, but even handier for Steel types. Crunch, as we all know, is a STAB move.

Mewtwo! So Powerful. His Psychic will earn STAB. His Strength will handle those a la Blissey. SHadow Ball will make Psychic and Thunderbolt slightly powerful.

So there's my FireRed team. I'll post my LeafGreen one when I get my own LeafGreen. :P

Alex_ November 26th, 2004 6:53 AM

First of all this isnt even in the right place. And im sure frosty or toothy would be happy to rate a team. And lastly dont double post ive been noticing a lot of that happening lately. Now i say all this as kind as possible just trying to help.XD

Toothache November 26th, 2004 8:37 AM

Horrible horrible team. Lots needed to fix here, and I'm not even going to bother just yet. Next time use Strategies and Movesets, and please don't double post.

Shadow November 26th, 2004 10:10 AM

1 - Don't double post.
2 - Please use the correct forum.
3 - Your team isn't too good. I can see it from the fact that you used Hyper Beam (excluding on Slaking since he's disabled for a turn anyway).
4 - I like nubmered lists ^.^;
5 - This thread will be moved by evil mod powers in 5...4...3...2...1...

Shuckle November 26th, 2004 10:58 AM

1. I am fairly sure there is a thread against Team Garages, because its messy and you dont get the attention your team needs

2. Please Shadow, Consider HyperBeam Scizor. phazers die a horribly rotten deasth.

3. Numbered lists are cool.

HellishHades November 26th, 2004 3:06 PM

"Team garages" are indeed messy. Some people just like to post unnecessarily: mostly newbs from the other forums.

Hyper Beam is a very situational move, regardless. Besides, you can tell the team is rubbish by all of the obviously horrible mixed sweeping -- with monsters that should not ever mixed sweep -- the use of Mewtwo, the awful items, and the lack of listed natures and Evs.

I hate numbered lists. Note I did not use one.

8.986/10 Good team. It wokrs.

GVG November 27th, 2004 10:58 AM

Reckon Calm Mind would work much better on Celebi. Also do you think you have to put on all of ur Pokes Rest? I don't think that Armaldo would survive a strong water attack, so I think Rest on Nidoking and Armaldo is pointless. (Especially considering the fact that they are sweepers and don't have very good defences). Overall you are well against any type/pokemon excluding Kingdra :P. It could potentially cause bad problems. Otherwise it's okay.

Mana Lugia November 27th, 2004 1:27 PM

Shuckle: lol, funny rate

GVG: Bellrest team, really, modeled after the style that broke GSC. If I rest, I prolly won't leave it in to die. Celebi's Psychic isn't to attack, it's to deal damage, rather don't want Celebi to die, that's all. Good point about Kingdra, maybe HP Electric ones can cause problems.

Also, I posted the team for the "pokemon master" to rate =P

Shuckle November 28th, 2004 8:16 AM

Poke-Master November 30th, 2004 5:33 AM

mana lugia's team

im so sorry i havent came here 4 a while... well those who gave me advice thanks very much. im very new here so dont expect me 2 know everything :P
ok 2 business.

So u depend more on defense 4 ur umbreon? i like that, but u can improve ur attacks! why dont u put another damager like faint attack, psychic, or the like? well quick attack, as we all know, allows u 2 strike 1st. good. rest can recover ur health and plus, u hav mammoth defenses. outstanding! and of course, my fav song, toxic! poison is a very deadly opponent. great! tickle will lower stats... hmm... well ur umbreon's good, but i suggest changing quick attack since its not strong :classic:

Armaldo, a defense Pokemon? nice. Everything's good, but i suggest changing knock off to water pulse. it will help.

OH! A CELEBI! please...please tell me where u got it! email me at [email protected]. anyway, ur celebi's great. only, what if something bad happens? er it means u dont have a physical attack. i know that attack will grow slower, but i suggest changing EITHER recover or leech seed to maybe shadow ball? anyway ur celebi's perfect.

no complaints about slowbro. its perfect. who knows when i get a slowking ill make its moves like that. very good job!

earthquake on nidoking, check. flamethrower, check. But i don't think rest is good. Nidoking's not really great in defense as of, like, venusaur. I suggest u remove it 4 sludge bomb. plus, its a STAB attack. SUbstitute is good.

Skarmory is great. Except, i h8 whirlwind. if u could, try changing it 2 fly! then change hidden power to steel wing.

Overall, ur team is fair. id give it 8 out of 10.
Good Luck!

thanks,
pokemaster

PS - Will study the other teams. you'll get answers tomorrow! sorry if im 2 slow.

IceKitten November 30th, 2004 5:38 AM

He probably was on about the Celebi on NB, there haven't been any legal ways to get it yet I don't think

Shuckle November 30th, 2004 1:20 PM

Its a NB team. wordswordswords

Poke-Master November 30th, 2004 11:45 PM

ninetales9's team

cute name, ninetales9. ur fav pkmn is ninetales, ur fav number is 9. :P
ok 2 business.

Ninjask
Just one damaging attack isnt good. u need more. what if ur foe is defensive 2 dat attack, or u run out of PP? try changing baton pass to shadow ball :P

Starmie
OH! Where did u get that Salac Berry? Where? tell me at [email protected]. I've been dying to get one. also help me find out my "mirage island pokemon" so i can go there already.
No complaints!!!! I LOVE YOUR Starmie! Well, also try changing Salac Berry to Brightpowder. Starmie's fast enough :P

Ninetales
Mild, eh? Not bad, but again, one attack is not good. Try changing Attract or Confuse Ray to a good physical attack like iron tail.

Aerodactyl
Nice! But Double-Edge will damage u back, so unless u really like it, try to change it to Fly. Oh yah, i didn't know aerodactyl had rock head. i though their only one was intimidate. :P

Gyarados
Rather good. With an adamant nature, earthquake is unstoppable, as well when u power up with dance. But try this moveset:
earthquake
dragon dance
surf
rain dance
Yes, yes, I know that ur max Special Attack may be only 197. But with Rain Dacne and STAB, Surf can get as strong as Earthquake. Also try changing Soft Sand to Mystic Water to add even more to Surf.

ALakazam
Of course one attack is bad, but so are four damaging attacks. Alakazam's defense is low, and a good Ghost like Banette or a Slaking with Shadow Ball can lure it to its doom. Try changing two of the punches to Recover and Reflect. But if u want, use Snatch.

Overall, your team deserves a 8 from me. Good luck!
Thanks,
Poke-Master

Toothache December 1st, 2004 3:20 AM

It's obvious you have no idea what you're talking about. And BTW, you can have any team on NB, more or less, so I suggest you discover just exactly what we are talking about. So for example, that's not a real Celebi or Salac Berry (Celebi is impossible to get legally nowadays, and Salac Berry you get from Colosseum for 15,000 Pokecoupons. I know, I did it myself).

Ninjask - the point of Ninjask here is not to attack, but to Baton Pass the free Speed from Speed Boost. It's a standard moveset, but it's so well known it fails to work well nowadays. EV: 252 Speed, 252 Att, 6 Def, Nature: + Speed, - Sp Att

Starmie - consider dropping Psychic for Recover or Rapid Spin. I use Rapid Spin personally, excellent for taking out those annoying Spikes. Starmie's a fairly tough customer for a speed sweeper, so Leftovers works (especially combined with Natural Cure)
EV: 252 Speed, 252 Sp Att, 6 Def, Nature: +Sp Att/Speed, - Att

Ninetales - ew? Iron Tail?!? That just proves you have no idea what you're talking about. Why put a Steel attack on something that's not a great physical attacker, and Pokemon that are strong against Ninetales resist Steel attacks.

Consider dropping Attract for Fire Spin. Toxic+Confuse Ray for damage, and they can't switch. Change the EV setup for HP 252, Sp Att 129, Sp Def 129 and give him Leftovers. Nature: + Sp Def, - Att

Aerodactyl - vunerable to status here. Consider Substitute over Aerial Ace. I enjoy Will-O-Wisping Aero and letting him burn to death while he can only do half damage. And Aero doesn't take recoil damage from Double-Edge since he has Rock Head (if you knew what you were talking about, you'd have really noticed that).
EV: 252 Speed, 252 Att, 6 Def, Nature: + Speed, - Sp Att. Item: Lum/Liechi Berry

Gyarados - there are times when a water attack is useful on Gyarados, but the attack has to be Hydro Pump and this is not one of those times.

[email protected]/Liechi/Lum Berry/Focus Band
EV: 252 Speed, 252 Att, 6 Sp Def
Nature: + Speed, - Sp Att
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
HP Flying
Taunt/Flail

As if a Taunting Gyarados wasn't bad enough, how about a Flailing one, powered up by Dragon Dance?

Alazakam:
Actually, the Psychic+3 punches moveset is an old GSC standard, and it's more of a sign of an all-round attacker, capable of hurting most if not all Pokemon in some way. It does work, but there are more options for Zam:

[email protected]/Petaya/Salac Berry/Choice Band
EV: 252 Speed, 252 Sp Att, 6 Sp Def
Nature: + Speed/Sp Att, - Att
Psychic
Calm Mind/Encore/Ice Punch
Calm Mind/Trick/Fire Punch/HP Special
Calm Mind/Thunderpunch

Choice Band + Trick for those annoying tanks, or you can Encore them if they went for a non-damaging move.

I'll be closing this now, since you enjoy trying to do other people's jobs.
