Sorry no idea really jiggly. I think that Amagami SS and Yosuga no Sora were both adapted from dating sims. I haven't seen SS and Soras content is most probably questionable....So, yeah.

Amagami was, and so was School Days I think.

Again without knowing any real facts i would avoid the School Days game, unless your mind is already impure that is.

Why whats wrong with the game? I've never seen or played or even read anything about it, but I'm guessing it has to do with dating?

I've never played the game but the series was pretty.. you know, messed up lol.

I just finished watching Bakuman episode 1; the art is very similar to the manga, but I didn't mind it, to be honest. I also watched Star Driver, which was rushed, in my opinion.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Takeshi Obata is one of the greatest manga illustrators I've ever seen. His character designs are always rooted in reality but aren't completely, 100% realistic, his backgrounds and detail are unbelievable and...

It just looks pretty. o3o

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 4:52 AM

Watched up to episode 9 of Myself;Yourself and I thought it was pretty good.

I wonder what else will be in store with this anime :o

Wha..? I didn't mean that.. I just said it's like the manga art, since not a lot of anime actually use the exact same art from the manga, so yeah. There are people complaining about the art, too, but I like it.

I have one more episode of True Tears! It's going great. :D And I am thinking of watching MM!.

Glad you like it :D

Anybody know how many MM! episodes will be made?

Chadie October 11th, 2010 5:29 AM

According to MAL, it's a 12-episode show: http://myanimelist.net/anime/8424/MM!

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 5:30 AM

Ah, then I'll wait for it to be completely aired to watch it :x

Chadie October 11th, 2010 7:04 AM

I, too, will wait for MM! to finish airing. I don't like waiting for anime :D

I just watched something something Samurai Girls. It's pretty good; way better the Ikkitousen and I think they have the same producers.

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 7:08 AM

Is Samurai Girl any good? Whats it about? :O

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 7:11 AM

I watched a few minutes of Samurai Girls and then decided i'm not going to start another brnd new series. It does have some premice to be a good show though. I will probably watch it in a few months.

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 7:21 AM

I wonder how many episodes are in that series o.o

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 7:23 AM

Probably 13, it doesn't seem overly special tbh.

Chadie October 11th, 2010 7:23 AM

^ I wasn't going to continue with it, too until the second episode; it was pretty good. It seemed a lot generic.

And Char, it takes place in a school setting and have fights in the school and the like. http://myanimelist.net/anime/8277/Hyakka_Ryouran:_Samurai_Girls

That seems pretty cool. :D

Just a question to you guys, do you like shorter or longer anime better?

Chadie October 11th, 2010 7:28 AM

Shorter, but with at least a sequel, each composing of 15 episodes, maximum.

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 7:32 AM

It's not about length it's about quality.

Saying that there aren't many anime about that are still amazing after 50+ episodes. Most of my favourites range from 13 to 25 but that's all to do with the quality of the show tbh.

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 7:34 AM

Quality over quantity. I agree, some of my favorites have 13 to over 200 episodes (Bleach)

Chadie October 11th, 2010 7:35 AM

^ Yeah, but I get bored easily. That's why I dropped most of the mainstreams and D. Gray Man. :D I like to wrap up the anime as soon as possible.

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 7:37 AM

I'm like that too, sometimes. If its a good anime I just want it to go on and on, but it has to have an ending sometimes, when I heard Naruto is trying to be the longest anime, I just dropped it.

Chadie October 11th, 2010 7:41 AM

Yeah, I heard that too. I think there is a longer series; the longest.

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 7:42 AM

The only anime i've seen with 50+ episodes are Bleach, Pokemon (only really watch for nostalgia now) and Blood+. Bleach only gets this many by padding out everything, Blood+ was okish but repetitive.

Oh I guess Clannad almost gets to 50 over the 2 seasons. Shana might depending on the length of the coming season.

Sometimes the shorter ones do have more impact. Elfen Lied could have been made into a 25 ep series as more than half of the manga was untouched but i'm really glad it wasn't.

Haha yes. There is show, that has thousands of episodes or something. Shin Shan has more than 700 and still is ongoing. :-D I used to watch it a lot o_O

And -Lapras- (forgot your name :[ ), I loved Blood+; one of my favorite vampire anime.

I have to go now. I'll be back in like 2 hours or so. Bye.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 11th, 2010 7:50 AM

I typically watch the 13-52 episode series as well as some short OVA's. Eventually I'll try to tackle the 70-episode Cardcaptor Sakura, but I can't imagine watching anything longer than that.

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 7:52 AM

It's Keiran ;)/// Thinking of changing my username to match my other profiles (KeiranShikari)

The first half of Blood+ was cool, i ended up not liking Saya though, the whole "this is my war so nobody else helm me" attitude grated on me. Also the thing with Diva and Saya's brother was creepy.

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 8:00 AM

What was Blood+ about? O.o

And I think I might rewatch R+V today :D

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 8:17 AM

Blood+ is basically a girl V monsters sort of story. I can't remember the names of everything but there was a monster like the hollows in Bleach, and some organisations to take down. Vague memory of this anime as you can see lol.

lol How would you rate it out of ten?

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 11th, 2010 8:31 AM

I saw it on Adult Swim and I'd give it a 8/10 for the first half and 6/10 for the second half when you could see that the production budget had been cut.

So 7/10 overall.

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 8:32 AM

I gave it a 7 i think. It's an ok watch if you haven't got anything better to do.

EDIT: E O LS hit the nail on the head there.

Oh, ok, so I guess I won't watch it lol XD

Bleach (anime) is getting more interesting o.o

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 8:38 AM

However much i like Bleach as i am up to date it annoys the hell out of me, i hate how each episode only has about 15 - 17 minutes of new content. The coming 10 - 20 episodes are going to be really good though.

I might start watching Candy Boy, it seems kinda interesting o.o

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 10:22 AM

Never heard of that Chad, it sounds Mecha though. What's it about?

And Candy Boy is Yuri wincest if i remember correctly? I dunno, that could either be done really well or really crudely. It could be good though.

Chadie October 11th, 2010 10:36 AM

Yup, it is a mecha anime. You know the typical anime that has a confusing, but interesting plot. I didn't really understand the story yet, as it is a little bit weird at the moment. If you want, read the synopsis here: http://myanimelist.net/anime/9241/Super_Robot_Taisen_OG:_The_Inspector

It isn't that good, but surprisingly, I enjoyed it. :D Very weird.

And did anybody watch Hatsukio Limited?

Don't think that just because it has the tags "yuri" and "incest" that it's going to be "HAWT LESBIAN MAKE OUT ACTION". The yuri is very subtle in this show. It's quite apparent that the MCs have a relationship that goes beyond that which twin siblings normally have, but at the same time, it's never explicitly told. It's good stuff for what little length it had.

Weeaboo Name October 11th, 2010 11:51 AM

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 11th, 2010 12:00 PM

Well, having nothing better to do (STUDYING DOESN'T COUNT BECAUSE IT'S BORING) I decided to watch the first five episodes of Yes Pretty Cure 5

And now I want to make an AMV based on it... and I'm probably gonna fail my upcoming test xD

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 12:01 PM

How many Pretty Cure's are there? O.o

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 11th, 2010 12:17 PM

They're up to seven seasons now, though the second and fifth are continuations of the season before.

I'm not sure how many movies there are, but there are movies as well.

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 12:18 PM

Wow, thats like Pokemon, no even more than Pokemon :o

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 11th, 2010 12:24 PM

Might be the same number of seasons, but Pokemon has way more episodes... each Precure season is usually around 50 episodes, which would be 350 total (once the 7th is completed) .... isn't Pokemon well over 500 now?

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 12:27 PM

Thats true. Whats it about?

jigglyppuff8 October 11th, 2010 12:28 PM

Pokemon, up to D/P, has 671 episodes. Not counting the movies, shorts, specials, etc. It's just a 30 minute commercial for video games and trading cards anyway. :V

It's probably not the exact same PreCure everytime though. To my understanding, there's the original Futari wa Pretty Cure and its two follow-ups, Yes! Pretty Cure GoGo! and it's follow-up, Fresh Pretty Cure, and Heartcatch Pretty Cure. Now, Gundam. That's kind of a scary thought. ;; Care to fill us in Jordan?

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 12:29 PM

Pretty much that, though the second Futari Wa follow-up, Splash Star, actually did have new characters and setting. Although Saki and Mai from Splash Star are so similar to Nagisa and Honoka from the first two seasons that they might have well been the same. Splash Star did have cooler villains, though.

The first season was dubbed in English... but only released in Canada. Though apparently it's going to be released in the UK. Still no word on a US release, sadly...

Eucliffe October 11th, 2010 12:52 PM

So it was dubbed?

I believe the reason behind that was because mahou shoujo series just aren't popular in America. Which is probably why Tokyo Mew Mew (or Mew Mew Power if you wanna go by the 4Kids name), Ojamajo Doremi (Magical DoReMi as called by 4Kids again), and Full Moon o Sagashite are incomplete. They just didn't wanna risk it with Pretty Cure.

Charizard★ October 11th, 2010 12:54 PM

Pretty Cure was dubbed and aired in the US? What channel was it on?

Ocean Production and Blue Water Studios handled the dubbing, which will be used for both Canadian and UK releases.

And unfortunately that seems to be the trend in the US... for some reason Americans don't want to see girls using magical powers to kick butt:/

No US release. It aired on YTV in Canada and will air on a UK network.

I'm not sure how much of Sailor Moon was dubbed and released. I know at least one of the complete seasons/story arcs was finished.

Apparently the genre was already on its way downhill by the time the botched "Cardcaptors" arrived... they tried to make both Sakura and Syaoran as the heroes of the show:/

Eucliffe October 11th, 2010 1:06 PM

Poor Sakura. I heard the dub was terrible, but I never really watched it XD;

Not a huge CLAMP fan, to be honest (though xxxHolic isn't so bad, and I guess Cardcaptor Sakura wouldn't be either).

Our society seems to like more action stuff. Gurren Lagann, Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, you name it.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 11th, 2010 1:07 PM

I haven't seen much by CLAMP outside of CCS, actually...

And on an unrelated note, MAL is being very uncooperative today:/

jigglyppuff8 October 11th, 2010 1:12 PM

MAL is always like this. Shouldn't you be used to it by now? :3c

Eucliffe October 11th, 2010 1:17 PM

Aye.

I wonder when it'll decide to temporarily cooperate, 'cause I wanna add PPGZ to my "Plan to Watch" list as well as put a bunch of other anime series "On Hold".

Gundam has a bunch of universes thanks to multiple spin-offs, but the main one (Universal Century Gundam) follows one timeline and has had many seasons over the past three decades. Thanks to that, a lot of things won't make sense if one watches a random season without watching the original Mobile Suit Gundam or read over a long summary. The main story goes like this, ignoring the OVAs:

Mobile Suit Gundam -> Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam -> Mobile Suit ZZ Gundam -> Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack -> Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn -> Mobile Suit Gundam F91 -> Mobile Suit Victory Gundam

(Note that they didn't air in that order)

As for the alternate universes, there are Gundam Wing, Gundam Seed, G Gundam, Gundam 00, After War Gundam X, Turn A Gundam, and SD Gundam Force (a chibi robot thing), none of which relate to each other.

You probably actually didn't want me to fill you in, but I did it anyway. Have a good day.

Serious: Eh, show's OK. Not as epic as I hoped, but still pretty funny. Props to Gainax for deviating from the usual cookie-cutter anime style.

It's not too difficult to get used to if you're into the Super Robo style of mecha shows, it's not even one of the crazier shows out there. If you're used to stuff like the Brave franchise or Mazinger shows, it's easy enough to jump into.

Chadie October 12th, 2010 8:29 AM

My roommate downloaded Mushishi yesterday, and I want to see if it's any good. Is it?

And I just started watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann; reached episode 13 in one day. It's one of the best meche shows I watched. :D

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 12th, 2010 8:45 AM

I watched Gurren Lagann a while back, and I was underwhelmed. I thought it to be an alright show at best, nothing spectacular.

YES! I've seen the first and I love it! One of my favorite series, in fact :)
I haven't seen To Heart 2 yet... probably because Akari-chan isn't in it anymore :/

digi-kun October 13th, 2010 4:28 AM

Indeedy, To Heart was pretty nice, but it's also a relatively old series, so the animation quality is closer to the older style of anime, so lots of people are turned off by it. Still great though. To Heart and To Heart 2 are different stories, so you can watch To Heart 2 without watching To Heart

Yeah, they are completely different. I just re-watched To Heart 2 and it's not bad at all; not better than the first, but pretty enjoyable to say the least. Any who, I just watched episode 2 of MM! and it wasn't as good as the first episode; still, pretty good.

And I am waiting for To Love-Ru [Motto] episode 2 :D

Motto is up on animefushigi, i kinda know that show is bad but i can't help but like it. Also have you read To Love-Ru Darkness chapter one yet? seems like there could be a pretty good story.

I'm still more excited for the second episode of Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai [The world god only knows]. Great premise, and they're doing pretty well at following through with it right now. The OP has a really Eden of the East feel, even though the stories are different XD

Though next ep of Motto has Riko in it, sounds fun.

Well, I finally got started on Amagami SS yesterday, and already finished the first two story arcs. It's a pretty good show so far, reminds me a lot of Kimikiss pure rouge (which I also enjoyed).

I'm also getting my fill of magical girls with Yes Pretty Cure 5. Let it be known that Nozomi is adorable.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is really cool, even though I've only watched 2 episodes of it. Not just because my favourite dub VA is playing a main character. I remember the original and being underwhelmed by it, but this seems really good. n_n

Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai had a good second episode, better then the first imo. Same can't be said about Yosuga no Sora, not a very good second episode at all.

Just watched the second episode of The World God Only Know, and to be honest, it wasn't THAT great, but enjoyable. The third episode should be great though :DDDD

Just finished the series As no Yoichi!

It was enjoyable, but the ending wasn't that good.

On to Candy Boy!

I'll make reviews later, seeing as I have a crapload of work to do :L

After reading Recalled Lunar Romance (Fanfiction based on Touhou Project), I think I might see the appeal of some of the more heathenistic pleasures of the Japanese fanbase.

...okay, no, it's not what you think. :P

After some mindless browsing, I just learned that Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi is getting an animated adaptation. I have absolutely no clue what it's about other than vampires, but I'd watch it solely for Kamiya Yuu's art. I can't wait for this. ;A;

But jiggle-a-puff the Eyeshield 21 anime looks AWFUL in comparison to the manga. D:

But you don't watch Eyeshield 21 for the art (AFAIK), you watch it for the Shounen sports action and stuff. :x
