Ho-Oh December 16th, 2010 7:38 AM

Well, Serebii said it's Mamepato, Kibago and Yanappu. Interesting that it has ~ties~ to Best Wishes. I could've thought of much better combos, but oh well.

kohei December 16th, 2010 9:57 AM

Wow, all wi-fi promotions (except Dream World, but you gotta grind for Dream Points anyway) have been disappointing so far.

First, a useless polar bear. Now you get an egg that hatches into...
- A semi-rare monkey
- A dragon which you encounter midway into the game
- A common bird

Nintendo shouldn't be making us gamble with promotional Pokemon.

PsychoJigglypuff December 16th, 2010 7:51 PM

Yeah, it's kind of weird, but the fact that they have maximum values in one stat is interesting at least. o3o

Fushigidane-Chan December 16th, 2010 7:59 PM

Can't say I'm exactly happy with the event either. The starters would've been better...

PlatinumDude December 17th, 2010 1:03 AM

The events were "meh" to me. I found the fact that the hatched Pokemon have the same moves as their anime counterpart interesting, though. A Yanappu with a full moveset right off the bat is very cool, but the Brave nature is what holds it back in terms of competitive use. The Kibago that hatches has moves that can be expected from ordinary Kibago. The Mamepato is just...ugh. Gust in addition to its level up moves? I'd pass.

Haza December 17th, 2010 4:25 AM

So far I've found all of the events to be very boring but maybe it is just me...
Edit: I've read the above comments and it's official, it's not just me! XD

I agree about the bird. That was a stupid choice. However, I think picking Yanappu was just as stupid. Yanappu is not rare at all if you know how to find it. Run or a minute next to a patch of grass, and you can easily find one in shaking grass in less than 3 minutes.

However, picking Kibago was the only decent decision. On the contrary to what you said, Kibago is not available in the middle of the game, even though it is in a cave in the middle of the game. The cave is not accessible without Surf, which you can't use outside of battle until after the 7th gym.

The fact that Yanappu has an egg move, along with Dig, Solarbeam, and Bite makes it decent. Kibago doesn't have any good moves or egg moves. Mamepato has Air Cutter, but that isn't an egg move.

So far the only decent event was the Victini event.

Not sure if this is where I should put this.

The US Shiny Beast events have been announced!

Gamestop will be distributing all 3 beasts,
Raikou from Jan 3 - Jan 11
Entei from Jan 17 - Jan 23
Suicune from Jan 31 - Feb 6

This means that you can get Zoroark in the US version!

Sooooo...

I;m just happy Zoroark is easily available now. What about Zorua, though? And we want our Celebi!

kohei December 22nd, 2010 11:33 AM

Dream World had a major tweak!

Necessary Dream Points to access new areas have been halved, and female Dream Trait Poliwhirl and Vulpix are now officially available (all female Drought Ninetales and Drizzle Politoeds up to this point were created through hacking devices.)

The Red Chain December 22nd, 2010 2:26 PM

Eh, I'm disappointed by the mystery egg event.
I expected the three Pokemon to actually be candidates for what Ash's egg may potentially be, but of course it's not. XD;
It's just really irritating after I had been expecting that the whole time, but oh well. :x

I'm happy to hear about the Gamestop beasts! But it's really sad that I cannot get to a Gamestop easily, so I don't think I'll be able to get one..
I'll just hope I can find someone to wifi trade with. ^^;

Raichupacabra December 26th, 2010 4:18 AM

I personally want either Dento's Pansage or Iris's Kibago.
Satoshi's Mamepato seems well boring.

And does SR'ing affect the Pokemon in the egg.

By looking at Serebii's Wi-Fi events section, the natures (Hardy, Brave and Naive, respectively), abilities (Super Luck, Gluttony, Mold Breaker) and perfect IVs in Attack, Special Attack and Speed are fixed. So my guess is the only things that change are the IVs in the defenses.

Cherrim December 29th, 2010 11:41 PM

I wasn't overly disappointed in the events until I read this. :( I got Kibago from the mystery egg event and just sort of assumed that it must be an "unobtainable" or at least, very hard to obtain Pokémon but it sounds like that's not the case. I definitely would have been disappointed if I'd gotten a monkey (I hate them) or Mamepato. :|

I hope they stop sucking or I'll stop bothering with them. D: *sigh*

Kenshin5 December 29th, 2010 11:55 PM

They are probably doing the recent event more for themselves then they were the fans. This event was mainly to plug the Best Wishes series. Pokemon co. usually uses events to promote certain things, and this one is a key example of that. Kumasyun event was for promoting Pokemon Smash which was making a transition from its former self Pokemon Sunday. They have a Nippon Airport Darkrai event going on from December 27, 2010 to January 11, 2011. Albeit it is not through wifi but available at Jusco and Toys R Us in Japan(kind of doubt many PC'ers will obtain this one). Seems everyone missed out on the University Trade Evolution event as well, which was Japanese only as well.

Bluemoon December 30th, 2010 9:37 AM

I dont like the NA Legendary Beast Distribution!!!
They have lame moves... like raikou will learn Weather Ball!!!
In Japan he can learn Zap Cannon!!!
No fair!

Just so you know, that event counts as a HG/SS event, even though you can obtain Zoroark due to that. Here's where you discuss it.~

If I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure they have the same moves meaning he'll know;

Zap Cannon | Weather Ball | Aura Sphere | Extremespeed.

Sorry Forever ;~; Just puttin' him/her at ease D;

Also, I still haven't gotten round to getting the mystery Egg -.-'

I hope they create an event for Kerudio (sp) I want my pony >:

Kenshin5 January 8th, 2011 8:44 PM

Zoroark event running from February 15th to March 14th.

Andrut January 9th, 2011 1:34 AM

I HATE THOSE EVENTS! WHEN WILL THEY BRING UP KELDIO?!
Well, i'm really disappointed with those events. The only good one was Victini, then we got the worst event ever- Kumasyun. We also got a common monkey, an overrated hard-to-train dragon and a...umm...a Pidgey.
Zoroark event sucks for me too. >_< I seriously don't know why they release such lame events...I WANT KERUDIO!!
@Down
I know this for few months....
Well, i don't think Bark Out is an useful attack at all.

rocky505 January 9th, 2011 8:21 AM

Well I hope you know this Zoroark has a yet to be released move on it so don't crap yourself over a little pony which will be released over the next year.

Other news related to the animé: in yesterday's episode of Best Wishes, Ash's egg hatched into a Zuruggu (Scraggy). To celebrate this, Black and White players will be able to download Ash's Zuruggu to their games via Mystery Gift from January 28th to February 10th.
From PokeBeach. Seems kinda boring.~
(I don't know where their source is from, so yeah).

Volcarona January 13th, 2011 9:18 PM

I really don't understand events for Pokemon easily obtainable in-game. Needs more Keldio but that won't happen until... Let's see, Darkrai was 2008, right? 1 year after Dppt? Let's go 2012. xD

>_>
O_O
T_T
I just COMPLETELY HATE the events. They bring us common Pokemon and the next chance for a good event is......second half of March. The events started September 18, so we get rubbish bad events for half an year. If the next-next event is actually a good one...

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire January 24th, 2011 3:53 PM

Hey guys I learned that Victini is going to be given away from March 4 to April 22 In Europe (got this info from Serebii:http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml ) this was when they will first come out in Europe just like the same event in Japan so it's kind of likely we will get a Victini event here in the US March 6 to April n :D!

rocky505 January 24th, 2011 4:19 PM

I am shocked that we get the Victini Event longer than Japan did.
