Do you like to announce your post count reaching the next thousand?

Yes, I'm wasting my 7,000th post on this thread because it was the reason I had this idea at all.

So, say that you've reached your first thousand in post count or a certain thousand along the way, do you like to mention it to anybody or in your post for others to see?

Usually I don't pay attention to my post count at all, but it's a bit of an observation for me to take notice of any thousand that it actually hits, because it usually takes me...what, one or two more years to even garner a thousand posts more than what I would already have?

Zet October 20th, 2010 11:37 PM

I think I mentioned it when I reached 6k posts, but I really don't pay attention to my post count... though most of the time I have Nica to remind me that I'm coming up to my next thousand post.

Ho-Oh October 21st, 2010 12:22 AM

I usually put it at the bottom of the post, because... well, idk, but I'm trying to get 20k by mid-next month and it's not really working out, so I guess all I can aim for is 19k. :( But yes, I do tend to notice it most of the tiiime.

Taemin October 21st, 2010 12:40 AM

I apparently reached 7,000 and passed it within the past couple of days.. and didn't even realize it until tonight. >_>; Before that, I was looking at it going "ooo, 80 more posts before I reach 7,000, wow."

Then somehow, since then.. I've made like.. 90.. somewhere.

Case in point, I don't announce it, because I normally fail to notice it myself at the time of. xD;

PlatinumDude October 21st, 2010 1:34 AM

I announced my post count several times in Bulbagarden. I'm approaching 1,000 posts, so I might do that here as well.

Zeffy October 21st, 2010 1:37 AM

I did when I reached 1,500 posts as that was the time I noticed. I don't remember if I announced when I got 1,000 posts. Anyways, I announce it when I notice it. If not, then I just leave it be.

Rogue planet October 21st, 2010 3:33 AM

Nope, I don't really care about my post count. It's only happened once so far anyway because I don't post that often. I don't get the impression anybody else would care, and I wouldn't care to look back at it either.
I would consider it an achievement if I stuck around long enough to reach 3,000 posts though, seeing as my post count goes up at a snail's pace it would probably take over a year. I still doubt I would announce it though.

Melody October 21st, 2010 4:49 AM

Aside from a "Whoo x000th post" in that particular post, I really don't make a big deal of it... and if I didn't realize it, then so what? I don't particularly care about post count anyways...it's just a meaningless statistic.

poopnoodle October 21st, 2010 6:30 AM

the only number in my post count that's ever mattered to me was 666, and i tried to keep it (for every one post i'd make i'd delete a really old one) but that was too much trouble so i gave up on that endeavor xD other than that, no, i dont pay much attention to my post count so i wouldn't even know when it did reach a specific number.

The wandering thread was in pokemon trivia last week. xD

Anyway, I do notice when I hit a milestone but the most I do is make a note below my actual post and even then, I don't do that often. @[email protected] But I almost always notice the thousandth posts and count down to them in my head.

This is what I used to do every time I reached a new thousanth. I don't announce them, but I try to keep them for as long as possible.

5,000 was hard to get passed.

Legobricks October 21st, 2010 8:08 AM

I don't believe I have ever announced any amount on any message board; I just don't care. It is nice having a big number to show for one's activity but celebrating arbitrary numbers doesn't hold any importance to me.

Cold Fusion October 21st, 2010 8:26 AM

When I got to my first one-thousand post I was happy about it but I didn't put it in the post instead, I celebrated on MSN that I'd got there. Normally though, I don't notice what it is that was probably the first time I've ever noticed my post count.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 21st, 2010 8:46 AM

I think for 2,000 and maybe 3,000 I made a "W00t x000th post!" in my post, and I did a "Postcount over 1,000!" blog entry (Sep. 22, 2009), but IIRC I totally forgot about my 4,000 post milestone. It's probably a sign that it's getting less important to me.

Zebeedoo October 21st, 2010 9:54 AM

I only ever remember annoucing my 500th and 666th post. I'm aiming for 1k right now before 2011. I really have no idea if I'll suceed or not. But hey, I'm not dwelling on it. Once I hit 1,000 posts, I'll probably announce it. After that, I'll most likely stop annoucing that I've hit a new thousanth and no longer care for my post count.

Timbjerr October 21st, 2010 10:06 AM

Funny you should mention this. My last blog entry was made exclusively for the purposes of pointing out that I had reached 3,000 posts on this account. XD

donavannj October 21st, 2010 10:18 AM

I don't usually realize that I've hit a thousand until after I've made the post, so the most I usually do on any forum is go back and say "Oh, look, this is my x000th post!", simply because it is a nice, round number. Though I don't think I actually said anything about my 5000th or 4000th posts.

Alice October 21st, 2010 10:34 AM

I don't know... it's never happened. At least, not on this forum.

Uecil October 21st, 2010 10:41 AM

I think I did.. not sure.
I did say to one of my friends here, I finally hit 1,000 posts, but it isn't really a bother to me.

professor plum October 21st, 2010 11:39 AM

I don't really care about post count, and usually when I did announce it, it was in jest to the people who overly did that. And, even then, it was only amongst a few friends.

Ayselipera October 21st, 2010 11:43 AM

I don't remember if I've ever announced it so I'd say no. I do take notice when it's about to round to the next thousandth, but I don't rush to bump it up or anything. Anyways the only number I can think of at this point that would be sort of fun to have as a post count would be 7,777. I'm quite far from that though so I'm really not worried about it.

Charizard★ October 21st, 2010 1:27 PM

I used to, but now I could care less. :3

Captain Hobo. October 21st, 2010 1:36 PM

Yes, I do I used to tell Drew every 100 posts.

usami October 21st, 2010 2:11 PM

The only time I cared was when I finally hit 1,000 (or was it 2,000? IDK) posts. It took me like 3/4 years to get there.

Sammi October 21st, 2010 4:24 PM

If I have a nice even number, I might edit it into the post... but that would assume I noticed my postcount in the first place. Usually I don't. XD;

Postcount isn't a terribly big deal to me, so I never do more than note it in a post.
