Hitmontop hmm I con honestly say I was not expecting it when it came out in the 2nd gen like stated above it has the most interesting design of all the hitmon-line yet I believe it is used the least. I myself have only ever used one once and that was in Silver which was ages ago and if I remember correctly he was a pretty decent Pokemon and he still is.
|
Well hitmontop IS an interesting pokemon, but doesn't have enough carisma to stand out of the shadow of his two brothers. It's stats are mediocre, but it's movepoll is quite good.
I've personally never used it, but I might give it a try... |
finally got my internet back!
on to the topic: I don't really care much for hitmontop it is ugly. |
Really? It looks ok to me...
http://www.netikka.net/metallimusaa/trh/hitmontop123.jpg New pokemon to disscuss: Poliwrath. |
Poliwrath is a great pokemon the only water/fighting pokemon its stats are not asd great as I would like but their not bad. It's design is that of a Poliwhirl on steroids so I think they could have done a little more there but all in all a good Pokemon in my opinion.
|
Poliwrath... It's stats are decent with attack and special attack both being reasonably good. The moveset is also fine, if not great.
I'll agree with ^ (your username is confusing. :<) that the design is not unique; pretty much similar to that of Poliwhirl. |
hmm poliwrath? i like its move pool as it has quite alo of powerfull moves such as dynamic punch. but its design is terrible it doesnt have a mouth for starters and it doesnt have enough differences from polywhirl, all it has is a slightly different build and thats all. not one of my fave's but it would be good in a battle :)
|
I Love Poliwrath I always train one in each game for my party.

I love Poliwrath. His design is just so epic, even though it is very similar to Polwhirl's. His move pool is very varied, as it can learn Earthquake, Psychic and Ice Beam (to knock out those pesky birds), and the Water/Fighting combo is very well thought out. His Base Stats are 500, which is quite good, beating out some Pokes such as Alakazam, Kangashan and Spiritomb. Poliwrath is a good all rounder, with his stats closely tied together, he can provide defense and bulk, and also attack well at the same time. POLIWRATH. <3 |
IMO Poliwrath is pretty epic. He has a nice dual type, looks pretty sweet and has nice stats. He looks like 'Don't mess with me or else' and that's the end of that chapter. :D
|
I like most of your thoughts.
I agree, poliwtrath is a great all-round pokemon that just misses that "something" to take it over the top! It's movepool is diverse, and that alone makes up for it's mediocre stats. New pokemoon: Machamp |
Machamp's a G. 'Nuff said :D
But seriously he has four arms. Awesome attack. And did I mention four arms? He also looks cool. I could just imagine him using Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch and Dynamic Punch at one time. That would be ownage. |
Well until recently I couldn't use Machamp due the whole trade evo thing but now I can so i can say from experience it is an amazing Pokemon what with No Guard and Dynamic Punch nothing can take it down. I also like its design though the four arms are a huge evolutionary leap.

^ pic explains alot! :3 i love machamp as it is one of my fave pokemon's evo, Machop :). its move pool is just amasing and with its submission attack it just pwns :) i would deffo train one if you get the chance, i currently have a lvl 67 machamp on my team called gear :) GO MACHAMP!!! <3 |
Which fighting type Pokemon first comes to one's head? That's got to be Machamp. He is like the icon of fighting type Pokemon. xD It's attack is ownage! XD But a poor special defense means that Phychic type Pokemon easily nail them. ;_;
|
Sure Machamp is a mascot of the fighting pokemon world.
But I must say, it definetly deserves a higher Attack stat. Then again, the 4th gen did wonders to Machamp. Sure it could lear elemental punches before, but they were sp.attacks, and with it's weak sp.attack, he could hardly use them properly. Now those punches are phisical, and he, as daichi said, with it's four arms pwns everything. New pokemon: Hariyama |
I don't know really because I haven't used him much. He looks cool but he definitely isn't one of my faves. Sorry Hariyama.
|
Hariyama eh? I must say I like Hariyama its massive HP makes it hard for normally effective attacks to even phase this pokemon. Its movepool is also pretty well founded other stats are within reason in my opinion and its design is great I nearly always have a Hariyama when I play through Hoenn. so it gets a 9/10 for me
|
Hariyama.http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a3/Spr_5b_297.png
I'm really not a fan of Hariyama's design, and I don't know why, but it just annoys me. He is almost perfect for competitive battling as he has an exceptionally high HP and Attack, making him difficult to take down, whilst also hard to defend against. He can learn Payback, which deals with Psychics such as Azelf, but he can also learn Stone Edge which can easily take down bulky Gyarados or Zapdos, both which are very common in the metagame. He also can learn Surf, which made me laugh so hard, almost as much as Bibarel learning Surf. <3 |
Hariyama's design though may not be very good, but it is definitely unique. I think I used Hariyama a lot while playing Pokemon Emerald, especially in the Battle Frontier. Try teaching one Belly Drum and you'll find yourself a God. xD
|
Well Haryiyama's design is unique, but I wouldn't call it bad.
It's movepool is great, and it can be a very good addition to any team. It's huge HP makes it a great staller, unless you use Belly Drum, cause then it pwns everything. New pokemon to discuss: Breloom |
Breloom hands down one of my favorite fighting types right after Medicham the whole Spore/Puncher set id godly. It's movepool is pretty good and its abilities are great for many different strategies. I also like its design very much as well makes a Shroomish worth raising In my opinion.
|
As Gear said Spore Punching=Ownage. Breloom is one of my Fave fighting type pokemon. Whenever I play in Hoenn I normally walk around Petalburg Forest looking for a Shroomish for my party.
|
Agreed with both of the posts above mine.
Shroomish was like, on of my favourite Pokemon in Hoenn! Breloom is a pretty good Pokemon but its a pity that I don't really use it much. A pretty good moveset and its ability makes it a nuisance for the opponents. xD |
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/b/ba/Spr_5b_286.png Breloom.
As many can tell, Brelooms' Attack is sensational. He is well known in the OU metagame, and after one SwordsDance and a Protect FocusPunch combo, he can sweep your whole team. However, a decent counter to Breloom is Zapdos, another OU regular. However, Breloom can carry Stone Edge, and take the birdie out of the sky. His Grass/Fighting typing is very unique and effective; however, it does leave him susceptible to Fire, Ice, Poison and Psychic attacks. However, if you have such counters on your team, he is a brilliant late game sweeper. |
