Remembrance day 'Protest'
Well you may or may not have heard that on November 11th (remembrance day) a group of muslims (they have a site but i'm not one for spreading racial hatred) started a protest in which they burned a large model poppy and began chanting during the 2 minute silence.
The full story is found here: Daily Mail Story What's your opinion on this and what do you think if it? I personally think its discussing that they weren't prosecuted when you compair it to the student who got completely off his face on alcohol and urinated on a statue that turned out to be a war memorial who got sent to court and fined. It just goes to show how weak our government really is when they will have one set of rules for one race of people and another for another race all because they 'don't want to offend them'. It really makes my blood boil when i hear/read about things like this! |
Normally, I would say that they are merely expressing their opinions. Sure, I completely object to what it is, I think it was simply disgusting, but they should be allowed to voice their opinions the same as anyone else. However, they knew that remembrance day very special to a lot of people for a lot of reasons, so doing something that extreme is just plain wrong. Also, if there is a precedent for people getting prosecuted for things like this (especially since the precedent is something arguably less disgusting), then of course they should. There's no reason they should get special treatment.

Figures, let's protect the men that are disrespecting the men and women that protected an uncountable amount of people's lives. But prosecute the drunk kid that had no idea what he was doing. That's the difference here, That group of men knew EXACTLY what they were doing. While the kid that pissed on the statue probably doesnt even remember what he drank or how many. sure, public intoxication is illegal, but what happened to supporting/protecting those that support/protect you? If i was a deceased vet, i would be rolling in my grave.
