I agree with Gear. I think my vote is pretty obvious, since I was the one who suggested it...
Spoiler:
For those that don't think it's obvious, it's Yes.

"In regards to physical build, it is based on the Smilodon fatalis, a well-known but extinct species of wildcat often referred to as a saber-toothed tiger." -Bulbapedia

I'd say yes. In fact, I was even going to suggest a smilodon in regards to the previous topic until I realized Raikou already fills that role.

Let's not forget who pointed it out. >.>

But my vote is a yes. Def yes.

dragoniteuser November 26th, 2010 12:27 PM

^^Of course, I didn't forget that... :P
But I'm pretty sure that Raikou is in...

mal'akh November 26th, 2010 12:32 PM

I think they should made prehistoric legendaries. Well, more of them.
Would the Regis be considered as such? Each came from prehistoric times. Regice is made of ice from the actual Ice Age. So at least that one. o.o"

dragoniteuser November 26th, 2010 12:41 PM

No, I really don't see Regis like Prehistoric Pokemon (which are acctually based on prehistoric animals).
But i'd like to see more Flying prehistorics!

@Spinosaurus
Are you still working on Pokemon prehistoric dawn? I like that hack, actually. Plus you had some great fakemons!

mal'akh November 26th, 2010 12:49 PM

Why Regis are added.
In Regice's Pokedex info it states that it was made during the Ice Age. The Ice Age was during the prehistoric times. This however, fails to explain the others.
Spoiler:
"One of the many reasons why this trio is seen as "easily attainable" is because of the legends surrounding them. Long ago, Regigigas is said to have pulled the continents into place, and then created the three from an icy mountain, rocks, and magma in its image. Regigigas was apparently worshiped at one time, alongside the other three, by ancient people. Due to it being so powerful, Regigigas was sealed away in the basement of Snowpoint Temple, while the ones it created were spirited to the far-off Hoenn region and locked away in three stone structures, which were then sealed themselves. A message was left in braille to whoever would come to discover the Sealed Chamber, whose only access was via an underwater cavern, in the hopes that one day the Pokémon could be tamed."

When it states they were made, it states that Gigas was their creator. Also stating they were made around the same time. Thus automatically making Regigigas older than Regice. No one ever said animal resemblence exclusively. Spiny states that they can be based from fossils as well. Ice, steel, AND rock have been all different forms of fossils.

Raikou is also added and Yoshi. k stop suggesting Pokemon for now. >_> We already got up by 9 new Pokemon in one day. o_o ( Yanmega, Slakoth family, Raikou and the Regis.)

Guess it is time for a new topic?
If you would make a team out of prehistoric Pokémon, what would it be?
Aerodactyl, Kabutops, Sceptile, Omastar, Cradily and Feraligatr for me.

I'm not really working on any hack. O_o

Patatas Fritas November 26th, 2010 1:17 PM

I'll be different and go with my favourites.

Oh, really? Glad there is someone who abuses prehistoric Pokemon. *shot*
Kind of sad that Rampardos and Bastiodon are too slow. >_> They have more weakness other than speed. ;_;
Gen 4's prehistoric doesn't really attract me that much. (Except for Rampardos and Torterra)

mal'akh November 27th, 2010 7:37 AM

I actually liked the fourth gen's fossils. D:
Much more than Kabutops or Armaldo. >.>"

Christopher November 27th, 2010 12:05 PM

I like all the Fossils from every generation. especially Kabutops,Aramlado.and Shieldon

oh and My dream team would be.
Relicanth,Yanmega,Torterra,Kabutops,Rhydon,Aerodactyl.

Spinosaurus November 28th, 2010 3:26 AM

I also do like all the fossils, even Bastiodon. I said I didn't like Gen 4's prehistoric Pokemon, not fossils. ;x Speaking of fossils, I wonder why Gen 2 never had any.

Patatas Fritas November 28th, 2010 6:42 AM

Generation 2 probably didnt have them because... Well, I guess that they would of all been found in Generation 1, and maybe no more were found, that and Generation 1's fossil Pokémon are all in the Generation 2 Pokédex, so why make some more?

Yeah, I know. But still, it would've been nice. xD

Stellar November 28th, 2010 8:13 AM

I'd kill to see what the 2nd generation fossil Pokemon would look like. I'm a fan of the 2nd gen designs to begin with, so it'd be interesting to see what they would've come out with.

dragoniteuser November 28th, 2010 8:43 AM

Actually I was wondering the same thing!
It's the only generation without fossils of it's own...
But the reason behind it is probably what Hawaii said.

Spinosaurus November 29th, 2010 9:27 AM

Speaking of fossils, I guess it's time for a new topic~
What typing would you like to see for future fossil Pokémon?
I'd die for a Fire/Rock. Sure we already have Magcargo, but I seriously want a fossil from a volcano.

Warrior Rapter November 29th, 2010 9:39 AM

I could see maybe an Electric/Rock type pokemon based on Velociraptors, Deinonychus or Oviraptors

dragoniteuser November 29th, 2010 11:15 AM

Dragon/Rock is pretty obvious choice from my side...

Christopher November 29th, 2010 11:57 AM

I think I'd go for a bug rock I know we have Yanmega as a prehistoric bug but I want a giant Millipede.

Spinosaurus November 29th, 2010 2:01 PM

Actually, I always wanted Torvosaurus to be Fire/Rock if there will be a Pokemon based on it. 8D
I like the Electric/Rock idea, possibly a Styracosaurus?

Also, we are now affilated with the Wolves' Hideout. Go check it out if you can~
