General rules

As with every area of PC, the community rules apply to Video Gaming. Spam is prohibited, character limit bypassing is not allowed, double posting is not allowed, etc. You can see a complete list of the forum-wide rules here.

PokéCommunity Video Gaming Rules

Forum-specific rules

All the rules of Video Gaming at your disposal. It is YOUR responsibility to read the rules and follow them.

  • Game discussion is to remain civil at all times. Flaming, arguing, spamming or plain rudeness will not be tolerated at any time. If a discussion becomes too aggressive, the thread may be closed. Any disrespect will be deleted on sight.
  • Spoilers are present within threads and, as such, you assume the risk of seeing plot details when entering said threads.
  • Event threads will be posted and stickied at the top of the forum. This means you needn't make your own to request battles. For those requests:

For all threads related to Friend Codes, XBL names, or PSN names, just use PMs instead.

  • Risks involving playing online with other people are always present and you assume the risk of playing with said people. In the event an unfair trade is made, your game is tampered with, or other liabilities within a video game, it is not our responsibility to serve justice for you as you have accepted the risk of playing with whomever you give your credentials out to.

Event information

Here are a list of the current emblems associated with Video Gaming from various events held. Always check back for new events to win yourself one of these!

General event rules, dates and times will be posted within the event threads themselves, but here are a few rules that relate to all events.
  • If you sign up, but do not participate in the event, you do not get an emblem.
  • If you disrupt a gaming event with unruly behavior or overall immaturity, you may be barred from participating in future events for a set amount of time.
  • Enjoy the events. They're meant to be fun, not serious. Once again, if you are overly competitive and ruin the experience for your fellow members, you may be barred from participating in future events for a set amount of time.
  • IF YOU WANT TO HOST YOUR OWN EVENT, please PM the moderator of Video Gaming. We're always willing to let members host an event for games the staff may not have, but many others do!

Previous rules and global rules still apply, with one exception:
Major spoilers for recently released games or in threads where there are obviously people who have not completed the game should be marked as such. If in doubt, mark it as a spoiler; there's no harm in doing so. Blatant violations of this will result first in a PM telling you not to do it again, then a warning, then an infraction. If it was obvious that you were spoiling to ruin someone's day as opposed to just accidentally, I'll skip the first step. Don't be a jerk.

Also, regarding the hard four week limit on posts, try to use discretion. If the thread's a day away from closing, if the conversation died long ago and nobody remembers what's going on, but especially if you have nothing to actually say, don't bump the thread. Generally speaking, if a thread's more than three weeks old, only post in it if you have something important to say. Just try to use some common sense. In fact, try to use common sense every time you report a post.

If you have any questions, PM me. These rules are subject to change, I'll try to make sure everyone is aware of the change if this happens.
