I do believe in fairies, I do, I DO!
cliched topic, me knowz
Like most of us here, when we were kids, we had this large imagination and Santa, tooth fairies, etc were in it. At some point, your big brother told you none of those are true and you held a grudge against your parents for not telling you the truth. Common, no? So, did you [when you were a kid] believe in such "supernatural things"? If you really did, how did you find out otherwise? |
I believed in mutant zombie clowns when I was 8. Seriously.
I have no idea what's wrong with me. |
Nah, I never believed in any such thing... No! I'm not lying!
Hey you! You're back? |
I believed in the tooth fairy when I was young. I didn't realize she didn't exist until I visited my cousins in the US (my aunt was making a Tooth Fairy card for my younger cousin, who lost his tooth).
|
I honestly never really believed in that stuff. =/ The tooth fairy although... I think when I lost my tooth I put it under my bed, and then the next day it was gone so I stopped believing in that stuff. XD
|
I stopped believing in all magical beings when I was seven. I don't know what made me stop believing so early, but I did and so I tried to convince other kids in my class they weren't real either. To this day I still remember this girl named Chelsea in my class was so upset that I told her the tooth fairy wasn't real she told on me and the teacher made me take home a book about how the tooth fairy was real. When I went to school the next day that same girl asked if I believed now and I told her no. She then cried and told on me again and the teacher just said not to talk about it anymore. ~Memories~

Dude, I believed in real life Pokemon until I was like 10. Nothing gets more screwed up than that.
**although a pet Murkrow would be aaawesome** |
I'm already old and I still believe in this kind of stuff, I know that they're fake but I think it's just me. Aren't they fun? :D
|
I believed in all of those things until up to the point where I was 15. Santa was my top favorite, until I then realized he wasn't real, it broke my heart honestly, but my Mom wanted to tell me, but my sister most likely said so before 'cause that's what got my eyes tearing up. As for the tooth fairy it wasn't that long until I realized it was my Mom putting change under my bed while keeping up one night, ha ha. Also the Easter bunny, probably my second favorite, believed in him until 14 at least, I swear he felt more real than Santa in my opinion, leaving baskets but then I got the words he wasn't real, I don't know what made me hold onto Santa for so long to be honest, but that was just me I guess.
|
I never believed in any of that stuff, but my mom thought it was important that I did so I tried to humor her as much as possible.
My father, on the other hand... he managed to convince me for a good year or so that chocobos were not only real, but that he had one as a kid. I am officially the daughter of a troll. |
I still belive in the super natural, but if it is true it will become the only the natural. I don't belive in a lot of the stupid things, but I infact SAW a ghost in real life. after that, I've never doubted that there is more to this world than meets the eye.
|
I don't know how old I was when I stopped believing in things like the Tooth Fairy, Santa and the Easter Bunny, but it wasn't until I was 12 that I knew that they weren't real for sure.
I was probably about 8 or 9 when I started becoming suspicious of them, but I always held onto a small glimmer of hope until my grade 7 teacher was telling a story and said, "Hopefully you're all old enough to know that things like Santa aren't real." I still remember that moment to this day, because I remember nodded my head like I knew, but really I was crushed inside. |
I never believed in Santa but fairies are real though.
|
I never believed in any of them. I was raised not to.
|
I believed in the Tooth Fairy when I was younger, I'm not sure what happened. I think my brothers told me it wasn't real.
I also believed in Santa Claus but then my little brother went and told me he wasn't real. I asked my parents and they confirmed it. I was so mad! And I also believed in the Easter Bunny. I think I found out the Easter Bunny wasn't real by myself. I think I seen my parents hiding eggs. We usually find all the painted eggs and then go through our Easter baskets. |
Tooth fairy is not real. I figured it out when I asked myself, "Why would fairies want people teeth?"
Hmm? |
I did when I was really young, but by 10 or so I knew better.
Funny thing is, I was never outright told Santa wasn't real; I just kind of stumbled onto some Santa-labeled gift tags in my parents room one day and was like "Oh. Whatever!" At that point I want to say we'd stopped getting stuff from the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, or that I just didn't care anymore about them, so yeah. |
I was actually brought up not to believe in these things. Sure, I had a hyperactive imagination and all, but I didn't actually believe in the things I thought up. I actually created my own world and wrote several stories based on it when I was a kid, but I never actually believed in it. I've never believed in Santa, the tooth fairy or the boogey man or whatever kids used to believe in back then. It was obvious that these people could never ever exist simply because logic disproved their existence. :3
|
I didn't really believe anything like that when I was younger except for Santa.
|
My belief in Santa was gone by age 9 when my mom took us to return a "Santa" present to a local store. By then I was already suspecting he was fictional but this just confirmed my theory. I was pretty cool about it, but my brother was devastated when my parents told him the truth several years later. I don't know why... for me, the writing on the wall was there before age ten...
As for other such supernatural entities, I never believed in them. But I do believe in the Internal Revenue Service. They're real, I tell you! |
I never believed in any of those things, and one night that I lost my tooth when I was like 5 I was awake when my mom came in so that made sure the tooth fairy wasn't real. (No one knows I was awake XD because I just lied absolutely still until she walked out.then i got my money XD.)
reason i don't believe in Santa: how could a fat guy fit in some chimneys and make so little noise? the guy is huge! (we will never know.) |
Quote:
Wait, are we discussing common fairies, or greater fairies? Elemental fairies? Nature spirits that may be called fairies...? Eh, as for the other things... I never had the "I'm so smart, so I'm going to show my parents who's boss by catching them in the act!" phase. I just... Well, I just simply stopped believing in Santa Claus and the like. However, that's not to say that I don't believe in the supernatural... |
I don't remember believing in anything like that, but I don't remember a lot of things. If I did believe then it must have been when I was very young, because as far as I can remember I've known that they weren't real.
I like the idea of children believing in these things, and I'd probably encourage it. You only get to be a child once, and it's fun believing in magical beings. But then there is the danger of them being like the girl mentioned in Ayselipera's post... |
I believed in all those magical people until I was about 11 - 12. I remember I had wrote a letter to Santa, asking for a DS for Christmas (this was in like 2006), and I remember I saw this peice of paper sitting next to mum, so while she wasn't looking, I grabbed it and read it, and it said "DS for Emma" on it.. I was really confused. So I set the peice of paper back, and asked my mum if we could go out a walk, and I asked her "Why is there a peice of paper that says to get a DS for me, if Santa is getting me one?" and she told me just there and then, he wasn't real, lol. I was shocked at first.. and felt like crying, being the naive person I am, I really believed he was real and it bothered me he wasn't because in a way I felt bad that all these years mum had been spending thousands of pounds on me. XD; After that happened, I stopped believing in all magical beings. ;w; Doesn't really bother me now, however, haha. c:
|
Nope. Although I do remember it when I was young, about 9, after that no more fairytales. How could he go through the chimney? So yeah, nothing now.
