SSD help
I recently bought a Solid State Drive for my freind to run his windows on, i installed the windows but everytime i lock the hard disk from the user it seems to lock out the graphics control and other windows comands. i have done this to normal disk drives but he SSD's seem to not work.
Also i installed Windows vista x64 and everytime i install it and remove the disk it seems to say BOOTMGR is missing. This may be advanced but i would like help. |

Umm... no, don't mess with the hard drive locking >__> Does it really even matter?
K, assuming your friend has his old HDD still in use, you have to set that HDD to slave mode. It should have a set of 2 x 8 pins that are not connected to power or SATA/IDE and has a sort of pin connector. Look for or look up a manual to set that position to slave. Now, I don't know how exactly you messed with the SDD, but if you're only gonna use it for the OS and/or programs and don't have anything valuable. Unlock it and format it. Then reinstall the OS and don't mess with the locks. The setting the HDD to slave part is just to be save, if you can't find out how, you don't really have to, but I'd really do it if I were you. |
