Cherrim December 21st, 2010 12:35 AM

Didn't look much different from around 3am, just lost some of the light on the one side. But it was nice to just stand there and chat with my brother over hot chocolate as we watched. :3

And it was pretty cool to think a bunch of people all over the continent were standing outside, watching the same thing, bearing the same damn cold I was. xD;

professor plum December 21st, 2010 12:37 AM

My mom just woke up, and we went out into the backyard to watch for the moon. We could see it for a second, but then it went away. ):
..Meanwhile, my dog started attacking me with love. XD

Alice December 21st, 2010 12:38 AM

In Alaska, your eyes can freeze shut when you blink. No joke.

インフェルノの津波 December 21st, 2010 12:38 AM

Erica, double post :(.

Ah, I see now.

BTW, I wish I had a camera. My stupid brick phone doesn't have it.

Ugggh I hate when this happens. :( It only happens if your eyes are watery/you get snow in them but when it's super windy, it's practically inevitable unless you're brushing the wet out of your eyes. Ugggh.

I hate wet cold.

インフェルノの津波 December 21st, 2010 12:44 AM

WHUT.

Your eyes...can freeze shut...

I'm now scared of Alaska.

Alice December 21st, 2010 12:45 AM

It was like 20 minutes ago. lol

twistedpuppy December 21st, 2010 12:45 AM

In those situations you should wear sunglasses. Protect your eyes and look fancy.

Heated sunglasses?

I'm not sure how they would help otherwise. lol

Cherrim December 21st, 2010 12:47 AM

Sunglasses or similar things don't always help that much. :p

And it's not like... instant... :( idk, when you're used to that kind of weather you also know how to deal with it. And having ice in your eyelashes isn't that bad if you get indoors quickly to dry off. :p

インフェルノの津波 December 21st, 2010 12:48 AM

Get goggles. Look much cooler than those over-rated sunglasses.

Digimon promotes them.

Cherrim December 21st, 2010 12:49 AM

I have never done that. Gotten my tongue stuck to a popsicle in the middle of summer before though. xD;

That's mortifying. D:
I just can't even imagine getting ice on my eyes.
How do you see to get indoors? D:

インフェルノの津波 December 21st, 2010 12:52 AM

I've seen a dog do that. Poor thing :(.

Cherrim December 21st, 2010 12:52 AM

I-I would never actually lick a pole or something like that. Even if there's no risk of it getting stuck. XD; Germs and whatnot.. D:
It's happened to me, though, with a Popsicle as well.

インフェルノの津波 December 21st, 2010 12:55 AM

Who's she?

You know, cold-related injuries are nothing compared to fire-related. 1st degree burns hurt man.

professor plum December 21st, 2010 12:56 AM

I beg to differ. Severe cold injuries can be equivilant to third degree burns. I'm talking like when exposed to liquid nitrogen, etc.
Stuff that causes your fingers/etc to break off.

Also, I just looked up some heated sunglasses. They exist.
And some are actually pretty stylish. o3o

インフェルノの津波 December 21st, 2010 12:59 AM

True, but burns can happen faster. Something like hypothermia takes a while to sink in unless you're in like water or really exposed to cold elements.

I stuck my tongue on a pole once, as a dare. I miss those taste buds...

Awesome!
I wonder if heated jackets exist as well. I was gonna say underwear, but then thought to myself that it might cause burns. xDD

Don't be so sure. If you dump out a cup of boiling Coffee in Alaska-cold weather, it'll freeze before it hits the ground. (Or so my mom says... I've never had the chance to try it. lol)

インフェルノの津波 December 21st, 2010 1:06 AM

Heated underwear exists.

Alaska sounds like a scary place :(.

Lickeh Lickeh December 21st, 2010 1:07 AM

In Jolly ol' Enlgand it snowed on Friday and we still have heavy snow here on Tuesday.

Alice December 21st, 2010 1:08 AM

Nah, that's only in the winter. In the Summer it's 70 F. lol

And it's not a problem unless you actually go outside. lol

インフェルノの津波 December 21st, 2010 1:10 AM

In Seattle, I missed 3 days o' school due to surprise snow.

Now it just rains. Joy.

Alice December 21st, 2010 1:11 AM

Why would you miss hurricanes...?
I've lived through a few of them that weren't even direct [I live quite a distance from the ocean, but we still got major rain/etc from the bigger hurricanes] and they're rather unpleasant.
I'm all for rain, but, hurricanes are just awful.

They are all awful, but I just love them for some reason. I used to live in Puerto Rico when I younger and we had multiple hits every year. Like a tradition.
Besides, it hardly rain in Florida.

Some people think they're fun/exciting, because you get trapped in your house with your family/friends, and it's just an overall exciting/unusual feeling/experience. (I'm actually talking about Typhoons in Japan, but it's close enough. lol)

That's..definitely not what happens when experiencing a hurricane...at least, that's not my experience. ~-~;

At one point during a recent hurricane, the roof of my dad's shed flew off.

Really?

MY BIRTHDAY IS IN FOUR DAYS. :'D

Ninja Caterpie December 21st, 2010 1:43 AM

Wow, a new DCC and I don't realise until page 7? :O

Anyway, weather. Yes. It's summer over here. It's also cold. That makes no sense, considering it's almost Christmas. It's cold. Well, I kinda consider anything not hot to be pretty cold for us. Usually it'd be averaging mid-to-high 30's C (80/90's F) but at the moment, it hasn't topped 30 in the last week. :| The entire month's average so far remains under 30 ._. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it's very very strange.

I've always liked tornadoes, for some reason. I think it's because of the Wizard of Oz. b.b;

I have no slight idea how to that. I don't lack money so I don't ever need to work. I don't know what I'll work at, though.

donavannj December 21st, 2010 6:18 AM

Child labor laws are in place in places like the US and Canada. And many places have their own, stricter age policies regarding youth labor because of the equipment they'd be handling. If TWEWY were an American, I can think of many places that would allow him to work at 14.

They probably say that because they're probably butthurt trolls who are convinced the staff are on a vendetta to get them, or something like that. PC isn't bad at all, granted you'll have some undesirable people, but that's to be expected.

KanadeTenshi December 21st, 2010 10:20 AM

The only proper trolls today are the ads here. I saw a Scientology today one, I even saw a communism one. And this user.

Jordan December 21st, 2010 10:34 AM

PC moves rather slowly compared to the pace of the real world, at least for me, so I can't say that it had as much a significant impact on me as it did for other folks. For example, even though there are many people I'd consider my friends here, I found that had actually only exchanged a few words with them over a few days whereas in real life, I would be constantly talking face-to-face. PC is a pretty tame and nice place compared to many other forums where trolling is more evident or has even become an accepted part of the community.

KanadeTenshi December 21st, 2010 10:36 AM

Trolls are what makes forums fun.

A 20 years old.. escape for boredom.. do you horribly lack something to do? There are much better places than this site. The worst I see here is an adbot. There's a specific user who's constantly on drugs (not including this one) who shall stay nameless. She's also quite pererverted.

If there are much better places, and much better ways to spend your time, then why do you keep coming here? hmmm.

In other news, adbots are both an annoyance and pretty funny. PC has had some interesting ones in th past, most notably the male enhancement substance-selling adbots.

Please refrain to this post for further comments on those.

And please. Don't tell me Israeli mods beat you. They do manage to tame a forum with 15,000+ users on a regular basis. Sometimes even 20,000. There's loads of spam, but honestly, PC feels dull and slow compared to that. That's just me, probably, though.

Well, no. He loves Lady Gaga, so I should get him something related to it, but...ehhh. ):
I want to get him something more special. I got him a scrapbook one month, some merchandise another, and..I just don't know. ):

Oh, I never saw that post. But, yeah. It's a small forum that's gathering dust. I am hoping the admin will talk to me though, I may take over that forum.
You do seem to post about whatever forum you're talking about all the time...

Easy. It's more convenient than going to said better places.

And for everyone who wanted to see the red moon but didn't, here it is.

How so? That doesn't really make that much sense.

Well, I have a friend who lives about 3 streets down from where I am. It's pretty inconvenient to go there, especially considering it's in the middle of winter.

On the other hand, I have a computer less than 20 feet away from me and I never have to leave my home.

I assumed they were talking about the computer...? How does that make sense.

Well, one would assume because it's better, you'd rather be there than here.
And..how does that last statement correlate? '-'

Horrible, not bad.

A 20 years old.. escape for boredom.. do you horribly lack something to do? There are much better places than this site. The worst I see here is an adbot. There's a specific user who's constantly on drugs (not including this one) who shall stay nameless. She's also quite pererverted.

The words in bold. I'd agree it was out of place, though.

I thought they were just talking about places in general. I would guess that there are more productive sites than pokemon forums though.

Either way, that attitude isn't that uncommon. You get people who supposedly abhor the site but still go on here every day.

Which, in my opinion, is kind of pathetic. ):

I'm pretty sure chocolate does go somewhat bad, because of the milk in them.

If you vomit, that probably means they were bad. ;P

Also, not all chocolate has milk in it.

professor plum December 21st, 2010 12:40 PM

I love chocolate, but I can't really eat it anymore. I'm lactose intolerant. ;_;!

Miss Doronjo December 21st, 2010 12:50 PM

I LOOOOVE CHOOLATE. BUT THEN I CAN'T EAT IT CAUSE THEN I'LL GET FAT. BUT ITS SOOO GOOD.

Eh, I eat chocolate from time to time. ^^;
My favorite is white chocolate from Hershey's. <3

professor plum December 21st, 2010 12:51 PM

Cows drink water... lol.
Anyway, yeah, it makes me break out minorly, so yeah. But, overall, my acne has been good recently.
Ugh.

It's 80 F here in Texas. >:<

professor plum December 21st, 2010 12:54 PM

I prefer the harder-to-eat ones. Honestly, if someone pisses you off they can be a "sweet" hit to the head.

Oh, well. Such is life in Texas.
