@KanadeTenshi: Was that supposed to be a metaphor? O.o
@Erik Destler: Whenever I visit my grandparents in the winter, it's usually around 50 degrees (they live in texas). Then again, we haven't gotten any snow up until yesterday and I live in New England.
It seems Global Warming has taken quite the effect, eh?

I know! Usually it's like 50 F or colder at this time of the year where I live.
And, I'm just like.. D:

What am I supposed to do with my cute winter clothes? ;_;
We'll probably get really cold weather in like February or March. D:

I definitely believe in Global Warming. I mean, I think it occurs naturally, but I also think that we helped it go a little faster. >>;

[jq]But, still. 80 F in December is ridiculous ~_~; It's never been like this before. D:

Oh, well. Such is life in Texas.[/jq]
It's only 58° F in Louisiana, 22° is a pretty drastic jump between neighboring states.

donavannj December 21st, 2010 1:27 PM

It's not as much global warming as it is a general climate change, with weather patterns being thrown out of whack.

Only in East Texas does the weather range from 80 to 49~

Spherical Ice December 21st, 2010 1:39 PM

Yeah but my city has crap cold. No snow. >> Just ice and frost. While the rest of the UK is under two inches of it we get two milimetres of frost and ice. IT SUCKS.

Best place ever.

That was what it was for us last year, which is strange for our area but this year we actually got some snow. :D

AshPikastar December 21st, 2010 1:48 PM

It's not that cold here at all. There is a nice cold breeze outside and the sun is still bright. It's a nice weather over here right now.

donavannj December 21st, 2010 1:49 PM

We have more than enough snow here. I suggest those who want snow come to Minnesota with vehicles equipped with freezers and start filling those freezers up with snow. We've got plenty to go around.

professor plum December 21st, 2010 1:53 PM

I would hate to live up in the north for that reason ~_~;
I don't really like snow that much. It's such a hassle. And freezing weather is so scary to drive in. ;_;

But you live in MINNESOTA. So why wish the snow in another place?

Leiecester sucks. We have nothing cool, except for a Space Centre which once you've seen once is boring (except for when they hold Dr Who conventions ofc).

Sweet Candace December 21st, 2010 2:00 PM

I'm very fickle when it comes to the weather. I hate the extreme cold and extreme heat and would love to live in a place where it's comfortable all year long.

donavannj December 21st, 2010 2:01 PM

I'd rather be here than have to pack everything up because of a hurricane every few years, but that's just because blizzards aren't often strong enough to destroy/maul buildings like hurricanes are.

Ice driving is nightmarish at first, but once you figure it out, it's pretty easy. Still wouldn't recommend going over 40 MPH, though, with light ice and slush, and no more than 20 MPH during an ice storm. And 4 wheel drive doesn't help any with ice on the roads.

AND WHAT THE HECK DO YOU DO TO CAUSE YOURSELF TO FISHTAIL EVERY 15 FEET?! O_O;;

I hear ya!

Usually during the summer, I always say how much I wish it were winter, and during the winter, I say how much I want it to be summer already. Spring is most certainly the most fitting season around here. Unlike other places, the weather is perfect, we get a decent amount of rain and storms, and enough sun. No tropical storms or anything like that to worry about, no sir.

professor plum December 21st, 2010 2:20 PM

I know driving a truck can make things different. Even when it's raining, one has to be careful to avoid fishtailing. At least, I have to.
It's terrifying when it occurs, tbh. D:

And, hurricanes are pretty rough, I guess. But, it depends on what you grow up with XD

Oh, I love spring weather...but I think I prefer autumn. It's much prettier.
But, then again, I love spring colors.
Then again, I simply just love everything about autumn.

donavannj December 21st, 2010 2:24 PM

What you gotta do with a truck is to put weight in the bed with something that's not gonna move like sandbags so you don't fishtail as much.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ December 21st, 2010 2:28 PM

I grew up dealing with snow every winter and I hate it. Reduced traction, reduced vision, increased stopping distances... it makes driving dangerous. I don't understand how anyone could actually want a "white Christmas"...

professor plum December 21st, 2010 2:29 PM

I don't know where or how I could get sandbags/etc. I don't think it'd be practical. It's whatever. lol.

It's only practical if the roads are wintry. Or if you're in an area prone to wintry weather.

Spherical Ice December 21st, 2010 2:37 PM

So is fishtailing tailgating?

professor plum December 21st, 2010 2:39 PM

No. It's like where your car starts to spin around because of water/ice on the road. It's pretty scary.

Anyway, I wonder what I'm doing tonight. I think my cousin and her boyfriend from NYC are coming in with my other cousin for Christmas. :D
It sucks, though, because some of my family won't be there on Christmas Eve. ;_;
The DCC is slow today. ;-;

Alice December 21st, 2010 3:54 PM

I'm pretty weird in the sense that I like it both cold, or hot, as long as it's one of the extremes. (Hot is way better though.)

AshPikastar December 21st, 2010 3:56 PM

What's everyone doing this Christmas/Holiday? I'm also a bit picky when it comes to the weather. I can't stay out in the heat too much or I would get a really bad headache or pass out.

professor plum December 21st, 2010 3:59 PM

I'm going to be with my family, which makes me happy as it's also my birthday. On Christmas Eve, we go to my grandfather's house, and then eat supper/stuff. Christmas morning, we open presents, and then go to my grandfather's house again and eat lunch. XD;

I'm excited :3

professor plum December 21st, 2010 4:02 PM

I think I'll be spending new year's eve with my best friend. I hope so, at least.
Hopefully, I'll get to see my boyfriend between now and then. ;-;

AshPikastar December 21st, 2010 4:02 PM

I'm not really doing anything. Just going to hang out with my mom, sister, and mom's BF at my house like we do ever year and also celebrate it on PC.

Captain Fabio December 21st, 2010 4:04 PM

I am already home for Christmas.
Spending it with family. =]

Alice December 21st, 2010 5:37 PM

We just went out and bought a Prime Rib roast for tomorrow's dinner, since it's my birthday. It works out nicely, because my parents want ham on Christmas, which I don't like, so I can eat the leftover prime rib instead. lol

professor plum December 21st, 2010 6:22 PM

Tell me about it, I just spent the past few days fishtailing in the middle of 4-way intersections :/ freaking chicago. luckily my car is pretty small so I can straighten it out pretty quick without hitting cars in the next lane. my parents never let me drive on my permit in the snow, so the first time I encountered it on my own I was like OMG HELP ME ;_____;

that being said I do love autumn/winter and I could never live in a place where it was hot all the time. i'm too used to this!

I can't wait for christmas :) I have no clue what we're eating but I don't care. i'm sure it'll be good. my brother and I will probably play Ace Attorney the whole time at my aunts house since there's not much to do.

No beef, no meat, no pork. I'm all chicken, turkey & fish.

I'm supposed to be spending Christmas with my family, but there's a lot of fighting going around, and there's a better chance that I might spend it alone. All of my friends traveled to their families outside of my area. I'm left in the cold.

Alternative December 21st, 2010 7:54 PM

I like to eat meat, just some I'm not too fond of as it may or may not be tender enough. I dislike eating fish though.

As for christmas, I'm going up to the grandparents' house for it, as I do every second year.

Livewire December 21st, 2010 8:09 PM

We have Christmas at home in the morning, then the family all gets together at my Grandmother's house for the big party. ^__^

Alternative December 21st, 2010 8:12 PM

It's a little harder for me. My grandma lives at least 2 hours away from me (without toilet breaks) all the way in the countryside, so it's either up there or at my place. It's always good to go up there though.

professor plum December 21st, 2010 8:20 PM

My grandfather lives across a pasture from me. XD; It's about 200 yards, or so.
But, we tend to drive there to avoid spilling goods. Lol.

I have no idea what a yard is. Isn't America meant to follow the new measurement system with like, meters and kilometers now, or is yards/miles the new measurement system?

professor plum December 21st, 2010 8:24 PM

A meter is roughly equivalent to a yard, I think. :<

Anyway, it's not very far. But, it's substantial enough to be pretty far. ):

Kenshin5 December 21st, 2010 8:26 PM

If the converter I am using actually works or if I actually put it in right.

200= Meter - 182.880 Kilometers - 0.18288

If you have seen an American Football field it is just the length of two of those.

Human December 21st, 2010 8:27 PM

Hey, how's it going everyone? :embarrass

I always kill threads when I post in them. :(

Alternative December 21st, 2010 8:42 PM

America seems to be the dominant country, but there are so many things that only America do, because it's too hard for them to have a little change.
- Old Measurement system.
- Their date is mm/dd/yyyy instead of dd/mm/yyyy.
- As fas as I know, they only drive in the right side of the road.

All of those are correct. However, despite the third one, people have no problem ignoring the 'right side' rule at the mall/the hallways at school.

Nothing annoys me more than when I'm walking on the right side of a school hallway and a big group of people are walking head on towards me. :tired:

France does. Germany does. China does. Russia does. Italy does. Canada does. Brazil does. Most lhd countries are former colonies of Britain. Much of the developed world drives one the right. The US actually used to drive on the left itself.

Inception was a great movie, but all I kept thinking about halfway through the movie was, when was it going to end? Same problem with Avatar. It's like they keep making them longer and longer. @[email protected]

Avatar was pretty good. Although I kept wondering why was there a helicopter-flying lizard?

Inception IS a great movie. People keep saying it was confusing though, but I found it really straight forward. Only the opening sequence was a little confusing, because they gave no background or anything.

The opening was confusing until the later on in the movie when the scene happened, though the very end scene made me question as to what happened. But it was still a good movie.

People keep saying Inception is a good movie. Now I HAVE to see it for myself.

Ninja Caterpie December 22nd, 2010 2:05 AM

Haha, it was only confusing until the first dreams ended.

I neeeeeed to go and see all these movies xD; Or just buy them on DVD when they're out.
Speaking of gas prices, they're really expensive here. (Ireland)

I'm just really bored right now, as I have off from school, and I have nothing to do with my life. Maybe I could continue my paper (that's due in mid-January :/)

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ December 22nd, 2010 6:02 AM

Bored here too. And we never do anything exciting for Christmas... just sit around the house all day... I'd like to, you know, actually go somewhere exciting for the holidays, but the family is satisfied with the same old same old:/

And, I'm also pretty bored sitting around the house all day. ): I might go get some last minute shopping done . . idk. :[
It's so cold in my bedroom. ;___________;

Captain Fabio December 22nd, 2010 7:33 AM

Same, I let them shop assistants do it for me. Some people, though, like Forever, are a natural at that. ;D

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ December 22nd, 2010 8:40 AM

I just stick my gifts in those Christmas gift bags and get done with it. I don't have the time to mess around with wrapping paper.

Regeneration December 22nd, 2010 9:22 AM

Wrapping Christmas gifts is the most tedious job ever. D:

Captain Fabio December 22nd, 2010 9:26 AM

I don't mind wrapping presents. I just whacked on a film and had it on in the background.
