3DS isn't going to be worth it for at least a few more months though...the launch lineup is horrendous. And I'm sure there will be a ton of shortages at launch. I'd just get a used DS charger and hold off on the 3DS until June or July.

WriteThemWrong March 18th, 2011 2:39 PM

i'd buy the 3DS just for the legend of zelda ocarina remake. haven't played that game in forever and i am beyond happy that they fixed the water dungeon

Only two years? I intend to get at least 5 out of mine, and I've already had it for two and a half years.

I thought that OoT 3DS was a remake of another remake of Ocarina of Time which already changed the dungeons in the game.

インフェルノの津波 March 18th, 2011 3:05 PM

I have to get the 3DS, I'm tired of my DSi.

Livewire March 18th, 2011 3:06 PM

IIRC, Gamestop is doing a 3DS promotion that allows you to trade in a DSi/DSiXL for a 3DS for 150 bucks.

インフェルノの津波 March 18th, 2011 3:15 PM

Well...I kinda still need my DSi, you see I have SoulSilver and White.

I've never heard about that. i'm sure there are knockoffs of OoT out there but when nintendo announced this 3DS remake they said they would streamline things and make the water dungeon less of a hassle. This one is made by nintendo so i want it more.

Netto Azure March 18th, 2011 3:25 PM

I want a 3DS. But I'll w8 for the remake of it cuz the Battery life is horrendous IMO. But then again 3 hours should be enough if plugged in. >.>

"The Master Quest version (originally released on the GameCube) is for those who have played the everloving spunk out of Ocarina and want a fresh taste, featuring as it does a series of reworked dungeons and puzzles. Just imagine playing the Jabu Jabu section with 3D cows sticking out of the walls. Yeah ... now you know why this is hot."

Nyko is releasing a Power Pak that doubles the battery of the 3DS for only $20. 6 hours still isn't much, but that's still a good price for $20.

Sweet Candace March 18th, 2011 4:15 PM

My DS Lite is still going strong. But, I do want to get a new DS. The L trigger button doesn't work and the touch screen is a bit messed up, but it still functions properly though.

Capris March 18th, 2011 4:18 PM

That article says it has the master quest version as well as the original. Which I think is even better.

I missed out on ocarina of time and love the feel of the game the few times I've gotten to play it. When I was a kid it was my favorite game to watch siblings play. I cannot express how much I love this game and appreciate the remake.

Belinda March 18th, 2011 4:39 PM

Speaking of DS models I currently own a DS Lite and DSi. Now, I want the 3DS badly, but I doubt I'll be getting it anytime soon. I'm fine with what I've got now expect my DSi texture feels awfully odd having a control of (mainly holding it). And it tends to make me feel uncomfortable. As for My older DS Lite I rarely use it if at all, I lost the charger and don't want to even bother using it unless it's me just wanting a better hand-held gaming system to hold. From what I've heard of the 3DS it makes me even more excited when they say a Kingdom Hearts game will be in release for this system. <3

Luck March 18th, 2011 5:04 PM

I'm more excited for the NGP than the 3DS to be honest. I only wish they put the speakers in a better place and didn't remove the streamlined XMB for that horrible new design.

And I had enough money to buy a PS3 Phat so I'm sure I'll have enough money for this.

Capris March 18th, 2011 5:07 PM

I don't play too much games so I'm not really somebody to decide what is better. I'm probably only picking the 3ds over the ngp specifically for ocarina of time, so I might trade in my dslite to help cover the cost. I don't want to pay too much for a system I'm barely going to use.

Saryka March 18th, 2011 5:10 PM

I would like to get the 3DS eventually, but I'm pretty poor right now and I've got a fully working DS Lite now that's doing the job. I dunno when I'll get the 3DS but it's certainly not gonna be anytime soon.

What man get out. The Gamecube was awesome, bar the controller. The lunchbox design was awesome, and Celda was one of the prettiest games that generation.

Zeffy March 18th, 2011 11:32 PM

3DS. I think I'll be getting it later this year, just for B/W. I need to save some money though, 'cause buying a 3DS will be a pain in the wallet.

WriteThemWrong March 18th, 2011 11:36 PM

i really like the pikim games. those were fun and creative. but the controller was annoying and i heard they broke easily. i really shouldn't talk i got an xbox over the gamecube and xbox was drowning in problems. terrible launch games, red rings of death, constant online issues, and only lasting 4 years. as an xbox owner talking to gamecube owners, i think we both failed, should've got the ps2. i think it's still going with new games...

Caelus March 18th, 2011 11:42 PM

I loved the Gamecube when it came out. All the games I had were a lot of fun, especially SSBM, PM2, and Wind Waker.

Now I'm more of an Xbox guy, but I still play with my Wii every now and then to play some Gamecube/Wii games. :P

Zet March 19th, 2011 1:10 AM

I loved the gamecube, a shame that I never invested a lot of money into games for it. :(

Misheard Whisper March 19th, 2011 3:33 AM

*sigh* I missed out on the GameCube generation . . . came into gaming too late, and was never serious enough to backplay. As for the 3DS, I don't think I'll bother. The only game I saw that I might want to play on it is the Cave Story port, but it's still not worth it . . . they're selling 3DS systems here for $480, and I, like so many others here, have a several-years-old Lite which is still in perfect working order, albeit somewhat lacking in the battery life department.

So nah, no 3DS for me. Not worth it. And then Nintendo's gonna go and put a Pokemon game out in 3DS exclusively, and I'm gonna go 'NOOOOOOOO' and have to buy one. :(

Platina Berlitz March 19th, 2011 4:56 AM

I still have my Pokemon edition GC ^__^ I play it from time to time when I'm not on X-Box live. I have a whole bunch of titles for it that I love replaying.

I'm not bothering with a 3DS either because for about twenty dollars more, I could get an acutal console! -___-;; and none of the exclusive games besides SSF4 really have caught my eye

Tales of Symphonia you missed. 8D
I agree though, I loved the Gamecube and the PS2. They had so many amazing titles that I still love to this day.
