Aren't most of the no-evo pokemon pairs of a sort anyway? Zangoose/Seviper, Lunatone/Solrock off the top of my head. Absol is one that comes to mind, but you'll be hard pressed to find 6 for the Hoenn dex

EDIT: jdthebud put up a good list. But still, you're pretty limited if you're using just the Hoenn dex.

jdthebud January 4th, 2011 1:54 AM

Xilfer, put this list on the first post so people have a list of available pokes.

wow, dude, sorry to break it to ya but i can do whatever i want!
and i made that rule so this thing could be harder... no plusle/minun powering eachother up and stuff, just to make it more challenging.

So i'm assuming you play through the game with your starter pokemon until you come across your first pokemon to catch?

Youmay cheat one of your team members in if none of them appear before the third gym.

technically say i'm in hoenn and i have a team that are only catchable after watson's gym, then i may cheat one into the game, kill watson and proceed to capture the rest normally.
if your looking for something like plusle, yes you playthrough with your starter until you rech it.

Ahk, I didnt need to cheat then. I went and got headbutt then caught a Heracross before getting through azalea forest.

I sped through the start of the game with my totodile/croconaw avoiding most trainers incase i wanted to go back to challenge them.
Defeated Falkner and Bugsy with help of Rage, it is a really good move in gen II.
Went through Azalea forest and found the guy who gives you headbutt, and returned back to Azalea town and used headbutt on the trees until a Heracross turned up. It took me 4 pokeballs before i finally caught it.

I trained Heracross/Heracules up and challenged Whitney and won after a couple horn attacks.

Travelled up to Ecruteak city then journeyed left and found myself a Miltank, then travelled right towards the lake of rage and caught myself a Farfetch'D.

Trained both of those up and challenged Morty, IMO rollout is way too overpowered in Gen II.

Travelled back to the lake of Rage and defeated Reg Gyarados.

I am currently at the entrance of the Rockets secret hideout.

Say you were doing Gen I could you use Electabuzz ect as there were no pre-evolutions at that time?

Xilfer January 5th, 2011 11:39 AM

you're already doing really good y'know, thats great!
and yes, if you are doing gen I you may use Electabuzz/Magmar and such.

I'd like to withdraw from this challenge just for now, but not for long.

Hallylicious January 5th, 2011 9:31 PM

I went to the bug catching contest and caught myself a pinsir.
Defeated Rockets
Then challenged Pryce. (I think)
Now i'm going to wait 'til tomorrow so i can catch myself a lapras.

I have a question reagrding this challenge.
Are you allowed to use a Pokemon if it doesn't evolve in that generation, like if you were playing Gold for this challenge, would you be able to use Pokemon such as Mantine or Gligar?
