Do You all have your dittos in the dayacare?

i've realized in all my pokemon games(with daycares and dittos) i stick them in the daycare and never use them and they eventully get them to lvl 100 and the main breeding pokemon poor ditto....

Kitrigar January 5th, 2011 12:30 AM

Same here.

I don't take them out unless I find one with better IV's to breed with or if I'm doing the Masuda method for shinies.

The only I've ever used a ditto was for fun in HGSS, challenging the E4 with just one ditto...
Oh how much of a fail that was...

curiousnathan January 5th, 2011 1:38 AM

Yes that's exactly what I do. But I usually forget about them, and they've yet still to reach level 100.
However, what I hate about the daycare is they delete and replace moves without notifying you, which really frustrates me.

But that wouldn't be a problem with ditto :D

And yeah, i left mine in there and when i took him out to teach a pokemon egg moves i was shocked that he was at level 90 :|

Giratina ♀ January 5th, 2011 6:44 AM

No... well, my English Dittos, at least. What's the point of crazy in-breeding if you don't have a heightened chance of getting a Shiny? XD

jimmefoxx January 5th, 2011 4:37 PM

wait how do you get pokemon shinies from daycare breeding? i didnt even know that was possible

I was making a l statement about daycares in general; not about dittos. ;3;

You can do the Masuda method which increases your chance by75% of getting a shiny by obtaining a foreign Ditto and using it to breed. However, the transfer of natures from the female breeder(everstone) will not work.. for some reason.

1 in 8192 chance of obtaining a shiny by egg with a non-foreign Ditto. That's a 0.0122% chance of obtaining a shiny via egg hatching or wild pokemon.

1 in 2048 chance by doing the Masuda method.
That's a much higher percentage rate.

PlatinumDude January 5th, 2011 5:06 PM

I have captured several Ditto of different natures for breeding purposes. I use them only when the Pokemon I'm trying to breed doesn't have a suitable partner.

shinyabsol1 January 5th, 2011 5:34 PM

Yeah, dittos not really worth anything is it? I checked and all my games have dittos accumulating levels in the daycares. ...Too...much...work...to...take...them..out...

MrsNorrington January 5th, 2011 7:11 PM

I never take my Ditto out of the daycare. What's the point of taking it out? It would cost too much money anyways... =/

Sorry Ditto =/

enderalex January 5th, 2011 7:59 PM

yup i think ditto much rather stay in the daycare and basically be the hugh hefner of the pokemon world lol :p

weeman10 January 6th, 2011 8:30 AM

I have kept my magikarp in there for ages and only just have I realized that I left it in there. Its now level 56, and my main team are barely hitting 30.

Le Creep! January 7th, 2011 2:54 AM

I was going through a breeding phase *shudders* which I had to go to Pokemon Rehab for, but my Ditto grew to 83 during that time period.

I had bred about 3 boxes full of flawless Eevees.

BHwolfgang January 7th, 2011 9:23 PM

I only use Dittos for genderless Pokemons. You know, I should start taking advantage of their flexible sexuality.

chiperoo January 8th, 2011 12:16 AM

I never take mine out unless its by accident lol. Theres really no point since I don't use it for anything else.

angel January 8th, 2011 12:19 AM

Once I caught a Ditto it goes in the daycare. I never get it out, I use it to breed pokemon and nothing else.

PokéSwimmer January 8th, 2011 7:59 AM

My Ditto leaves the Daycare whenever I need to breed for egg moves and when I was trying to hatch a Shiny Eevee using Masuda's method before I learned how to RNG for shinies.

Wow, that's A LOT of RNGing...

olih January 8th, 2011 6:03 PM

My ditto has been in daycare ever since I beat the 2nd gym in soulsilver. It was lvl 5 when i caught it, and now it's lvl 86... That's all because of daycare

NamelessGuy January 8th, 2011 7:58 PM

If the Daycare is like the Playboy Mansion, then Ditto is definately Hugh Hefner. All humor aside, I always leave them in daycare.

Rankurusu January 12th, 2011 2:44 PM

My Ditto is Lv. 100 because i left it in the daycare so long. It's quite sad really.

chaos11011 January 12th, 2011 3:01 PM

I don't really use my ditto'sfor breeding that much. 'Cause you know, I like 'dem egg moves.

But all jokes aside, I don't have any Dittos in my daycare, because I don't treat them as slaves.

Heck, you know what I beat the Elite Four with on my SS run (this is my first run on SS because I don't want to delete it untill B/W)

Meganium, Ampharous, Slowbro, Dragonite, Charizard and Ditto

Yup, I'm one of the brave that went through the playthrough with my Ditto, without Soloing, without basing any challenge on it. I just like Ditto, and I won't put it in the Daycare after it's tremendous feats with me <3

blue January 12th, 2011 3:05 PM

I've had my Ditto in the Daycare on Diamond for a long time now, I put him in at Level 50 and now It's level 64!

Imperator161 January 12th, 2011 3:30 PM

I normally only put my Ditto in the Daycare when I'm going to use it for breeding, then take it out again. I like the Daycare to be empty unless I'm actively using it for breeding. I think the highest level Ditto I have is only 56 or something.

I have a lot of different Dittos that I use for different things, so I tend to rotate my Dittos a lot anyway. I just got a really good Ditto, though, so I probably won't be doing that as much anymore.

Sesen January 12th, 2011 4:13 PM

...Eep. I'm guilty. It's just so easy to forget about Ditto. To me it's only real purpose is to breed. :/ Which, now that I think about it, is actually really sad. But it gets the job done!

Unless I'm trying for certain egg moves. Then it gets tossed aside for a more suitable partner with little care to it's own personal feelings. That's how I show I care.
