Blur's VS of the Week!
Dat is right ma homies. I have stolen yet another of Kholds ideas. >:O I'll do a VS of the week every week on the week. This first time is something I came up with off the top of my head. =O It'll be GSC this week, and I'll alternate every week between FRLG, RS, GSC, RBY, and occasionally I'll have a 2 on 2. But this week is GSC.
This is a VS in Usage Not against each other >:O Rhydon vs. Exeggcutor. Let the Debate begin. |
Quote:
Sleep Powder and Stun Spore for starters. Immobilize the opponent's sweeper, or slow down their speed demons. Psychic, Giga Drain, Leech Seed, Toxic, Solar Beam/Sunny Day, Hidden Power, Explosion...all GOOD moves. That he is quite capable of using. 279 attack is NOTHING to scoff at for something that is supposed to abuse Special Attacks. So use m00b like crazy. Remember, "m00b=instant win". Rhydon can basically defend and attack. While his defensive and offensive stats are lovely, he hasn't the speed or the movepool to put it to greater use than Exeggcutor does his. |
There is _no_ way for Rhydon to win this battle.
Exeggutor is FASTER, and Giga drain deals at LEAST 485 dmg, which is more than Rhydon's HP. |

Ah, a usage contest.
Then you chose bad contestants. There's nothing similar about the way Exeggutor and Rhydon are used, so you can't compare the two at all. :x I'd never ask you "Who's more useful, Umbreon or Salamence?" simply because their roles are really different. Eggy is a great UU pokemon, since it has high special attack, and a choice of powders to attack the switchin. With boom on its side as well, it can at least take down 1, if not more, with its power. Rhydon on the other hand is just a physical sweeper type thing. It's not a tank, unless you're using it in conjunction with another pokemon not weak to quake/surf. |
You can blame khold for his idea. He told me to make it be who it is :P
|
Standard Eggy doesn't even have Giga Drain. And why do people always assume a move is gonna hit? Sleep Powder and Stun Spore can miss, not to mention Lum Berry is all over the place.
Spike sends out Rhydon Ace sends out Exeggcutor Exeggcutor uses Psychic Rhydon uses Megahorn Exeggcutor fainted... Why did Exeggcutor, a Pokemon with a BIG advantage faint? Lets check out the stats on both of these Pokemon. Standard Exeggcutor @ Lum Berry/Leftovers Sunny Day HP Fire Solar Beam <- x4 OHKO on contact with Rhydon.. But takes 2 turns. Psychic <- Only move left to use, does extreme damage with STAB Standard Rhydon @ Lum Berry/Leftovers/Quick Claw Earthquake Rock Blast Double Edge Megahorn <- x4 OHKO on contact with Eggy... But could miss. |
Note to self: This is a GSC debate. Sunnybeaming doesn't work well on Eggy. Rydon can't learn Rock Blast -- there isn't even Rock Blast.
Plus, if you're doing RSFL, then Explosion is perfectly usable: KOs the hound after you've KOed something else. Surprise. |
Giga drain may not be standard, but that doesn't mean Eggy won't have it to KO a Rhydon.
|
Actualy I prefer the non sunny beaming Eggy unless your running a sunny day team, which is quite fun =P
|
GSC standard was Psy, seed, spore of some kind, boom.
