Kenshin5 July 14th, 2011 12:43 PM

Free to download(more then you can say about some of that stuff). And free one month trial.

Åzurε July 14th, 2011 1:18 PM

Got the Netflix. :D It's not bad at all. Watched me some Fullmetal Alchemist, the resolution is decent enough to appreciate it. Live-action stuff is a little fuzzy, I guess.

I don't think having it on the 3DS adds to your bill. We're already paying for Netflix for the Wii, and it hasn't told me about adding any other fees yet.

Kenshin5 July 14th, 2011 1:27 PM

Is there any movies that are their to maximize the 3D functions with? If so that would be interesting to watch.

:P it's pretty awesome.

P.S. I don't know if this is true, but on the e-shop, there's something called Link's Awakening, and in there, there's supposed to be a side-scrolling level where you smash goombas and koopas. Can anbody verify that?

Link's Awakening has many enemies from other Nintendo games and also at least one side-scrolling part as I just went through it in the first dungeon. I saw Goombas but no sign of Koopa Troopas yet, there's also Chain-Chomps called Bow-Wows, I just saved one person's Bow-Wow and he asked me to take it to a walk, he can eat the enemies if he sees one :)
I can already say that it's pretty good game. If you like other Zelda games or even if you're new to them but like same kind of games, you should try it.

The Hatter July 18th, 2011 3:53 PM

I downloaded Netflix this week, it's pretty nifty. I love the resolution with anime and cartoons, Iron Man: Armored Adventures looks wonderful on it. And, like Åzurε said, live action stuff is a little blurry. But not enough to make me not watch it.

I want to download some other games, is Link's Awakening fun?

Take a look at my previous post :)

Waiting for Pokémon games to appear on eShop, I have still money on 3DS for one GB/C game and there's Mario's Picross and soon Game & Watch collection but I'm afraid that there will be even better VC game on next week if I go and buy Mario's Picross now.

I've never seen Mario's Picross, but it sounds interesting. I so can't wait for Nintendo Video, though.

Sorry for my mistake. The game I meant to mention is Game & Watch Gallery :)
Nintendo Video is nothing special at least for now. I hope it'll get better after some time.

There is a huge price drop for the Nintendo 3DS that will soon sweep around the world. Starting from August 12th the Nintendo 3DS will cost only $169.99 in North America, $249.95 in Australia and 15,000 Yen in Japan
And for those who already bought it:
Quote:

…will enable those Nintendo 3DS owners to download 10 NES games and 10 Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games for free from the Nintendo eShop.
So if you’ve already purchased the hardware, you’ll be receiving twenty free games as a result of doing that.
Sure, I like $100 cheaper prices myself but I won't complain about getting free games instead. =p (But... GBA games? That's something interesting in itself).

countryemo July 28th, 2011 1:20 AM

Nintendo Video will get better. E3 2010, they said stuff like Shawn the Sheep and other stuff will be coming. And Movie Trailers just look better in 3DS 3D. <3

Whaat. OH Pf. But free games dosent sound that bad. NES seems to quite the majority.. I dont like much of them, but get what you can.

Captain Fabio July 28th, 2011 2:51 AM

Wow, pretty interesting.
It seems like this console is flopping a little, so they are trying to give it a boost.

Either way, it will be interesting to see what those games are.

bobandbill July 28th, 2011 3:17 AM

Well the lack of big sellers atm probably isn't helping them, so I suppose this will help sales pick up before the next few come through (as good as OoT may be it is a remake and only one game), along with the fact that the Vita was priced similarly. (Although not that many consoles start off well anyway at lunch - I think the DS went worse itself and had less good titles in its first year compared to what can be expected of the 3DS). This seems to be a fix for that and the free games offer for those who have it already is pretty neat as it doesn't leave us out, so to speak. That and arguably the free games would be worth more than the price drop... but well, judge for youself - the names thrown about atm aren't obscure titles that didn't sell well after all.

Since Nintendo 3DS launched in the United States on March 27, more than 830,000 people in the U.S. alone have purchased one to enjoy 3D visuals without the need for special glasses. These Nintendo 3DS owners represent some of Nintendo's most loyal customers, and Nintendo is rewarding them for getting in on the action early with 20 free downloadable games from the Nintendo eShop.

These free games are available to anyone who owns a Nintendo 3DS system and uses a wireless broadband Internet signal to connect to the Nintendo eShop at least once before 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Aug. 11. These users will automatically be registered in the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program. The program contains two elements:

Starting Sept. 1, Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors will be able to download 10 NES™ Virtual Console™ games at no charge and before they are available in the Nintendo eShop to the general public. These games, including Super Mario Bros.™, Donkey Kong Jr.™, Balloon Fight™, Ice Climber™ and The Legend of Zelda™, are slated to become paid downloadable games, but Ambassadors get them early for free. Once the paid versions of the games are posted to the Nintendo eShop later in the year, the updated versions will be available to Ambassadors for download at no cost.

By the end of 2011, Nintendo will provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games. These include games like Yoshi's Island™: Super Mario™ Advance 3, Mario Kart™: Super Circuit, Metroid™ Fusion, WarioWare™, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario vs. Donkey Kong™. These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on the Nintendo 3DS in the future.

More details about this program will be announced in the future.

Captain Fabio July 28th, 2011 3:51 AM

Well, if I am honest, I am not really interested in any of those games that they have to offer. I only like LoZ and WarioWare. But you know, can't really complain because they are free.

bobandbill July 28th, 2011 3:56 AM

Myself, I wouldn't mind trying them and as I haven't played any of those (bar a couple of the nes as demos) before they are hence worth more to me as well!

Captain Fabio July 28th, 2011 4:02 AM

That is fair enough and I think they are being clever about it. I don't know how many people have played all those games, personally I have but only because I had those consoles when I was younger.

The chances are that most people haven't played them, so it will appeal to people. They did a better job than Sony's release as they were all recent games and most people had played them.

Legendary Silke July 28th, 2011 6:21 AM

I think I'm going to enjoy the fact that I'll be playing Yoshi's Island sooner or later on my 3DS! I played the heck out of that back when I was a kid on my GBA.

Munch Dog July 28th, 2011 8:55 AM

This is pretty awesome. Paying $250 was worth it imo.

HadoukenGN July 29th, 2011 6:01 AM

CAnt wait for the price drop so i can get one :D

Seconded! I'm really excited about the 3DS, I was when it was announced! When they announced the price, I heard my already empty wallet scream and have a heart attack. I'm glad, I'm finnaly going to get one!

Griffinbane July 29th, 2011 7:17 AM

I am VERY pissed to find out that Megaman Legends 3 got canceled. VERY.

Bluerang1 July 29th, 2011 8:57 AM

Hehe I'm glad I waited. But I'm still gonna wait. I don't need one unless BW's successor will be on 3DS. The price drop should get more sold though.

Kevin July 29th, 2011 9:05 AM

I'll probably get a 3DS because of the price drop, but sad I won't be able to get Ambassador-exclusive GBA games.

professor plum July 29th, 2011 10:19 AM

thank goodness the price is dropping
I don't even know what they were thinking releasing it at such a steep price.
I'm hesitant to buy it, though. I'm sure a 3DS Lite or something will be coming out sometime next year.

Cherrim July 29th, 2011 4:47 PM

^ that's pretty much how I'm feeling too, haha.

Well, you have an option. Either $100 of free games or a $100 price drop. Your choice.

Or buy it from a place with a price guarantee, register for the free games, then go back and adjust the price after the drop. :D

Jared July 29th, 2011 6:23 PM

I'm all for the price drop, and WILL be buying it. It's not like the NES/GBA games are going to be in 3D, so I don't feel like paying $80 more games I already own/could download and emulate at anytime.

True, but $80 for games I've played already, rather just wait for the price drop.
