I'm waiting for a revised version of the 3ds.

You mean the 3DS itself, Will? xD;
Well, I just got mine a few months ago. (back in august)
I've been using it daily. It's my alarm clock, and also my MP3 player when I'm travelling to places. The only thing I've been disappointed by is the fact that it can't play WAV files, but other than that I'm not really fussed about it. xDD;;
I loved Streetpass to death, and I can't wait for the sequel. :DD

...I also have yet to try AR games. /kill'd

Has anybody else been playing Tales of the Abyss? :o

I think it was confirmed that there won't be a revised version. If that's the case, you'd be wasting your time.

If so, I'll get it by the time it has a large handful of attractive games, or essentially, when the regular DS games stop being developed, and I am forced to get a 3ds.

Are you sure they said they arent gonna make another? I mean there were 3/4 versions of the ds...and the 3ds has some room for improvement.

I do want to pick up some of these games though. A friend is getting me 3D Land and I want Mario Kart 7. That game looks really fun.

Thanks for the link. That does confirm there shouldnt be a new version of the 3ds soon, but even in that article it says not to rule out the possibility of a new version in the future.

That reminds me, the guy that made pokemon bw said there are no plans for a grey (or third) version, yet i still see people on this forum talking about expecting a 3rd game.

In anycase i'll probably get a 3ds when a main story pokemon is released that is only playable on it.

I think the only thing you can take from that article is that there is no plan for a new version of the 3DS... for the time being. Maybe in a few years, but if they're happy with it now there's no reason for them to make a new one.

It's also marketing - they won't say 'maybe we'll make one in x years' - they want people to buy the 3DS now, not wait for something that may happen. That's the same with the interview about the third version of BW - they were asked when BW was soon to be released so it would be silly for them to say 'yeah, we'll make a better version of this game in a year or two'. Basically - both may happen but not for a good while, if at all.

Legendary Silke November 27th, 2011 9:51 PM

I'm fine with my current 3DS, so as long as it doesn't break, I won't be getting a revision.

I CANT WAIT TO GET MY 3DS FOR CHRISTMAS!!!! What bundles are available or are coming out before christmas?

~Ryukaa November 28th, 2011 1:01 PM

Same, here Twigs. xD;

Aaaand, there's always the Limited Edition Zelda 25th bundle that's coming out. It looks fantastic, by the way. o3o

SuperTrainStationH November 29th, 2011 6:49 AM

I'm confident in the 3DS I brought on launch day because Nintendo's made INCREDIBLE use of its ability to be enhanced and updated through software updates that are now able to be pushed automatically to the system via wifi.

Its to the point where I nearly remember the 3DS I brought back in march as a different system than the 3DS I have now.

Morkula December 1st, 2011 12:50 PM

I don't think the firmware updates have been THAT drastic. o_O
I can see a redesign having the second circle pad built in. If so, that might tempt me to trade up. Otherwise, it'd have to be a pretty drastic improvement in order for me to consider it.

The 100 Mega Shock December 1st, 2011 1:32 PM

You mean like every other current-gen console and handheld can do?

Never stopped the 360 S, PS3 Slim and three more models of PSP coming out and being clear superiors.

Legendary Silke December 6th, 2011 7:19 PM

The system update is up 1-2 days early. I think you should be able to grab that update manually now. (It's huge!)

Chikara December 6th, 2011 7:25 PM

Hopefully the update will stop Harvest Moon: ATOTT to stop freezing :| I'll probably update tomorrow afternoon.

Legendary Silke December 6th, 2011 7:32 PM

I think I only remember Ridge Racer 3D freezing due to a botched update and it was patched posthaste. The Harvest Moon games are always buggy, and I think the bugs exist even when playing on the DS or DS Lite (both unpatchable).

Impo December 6th, 2011 7:48 PM

New update? I have to check :D !
I've only just recieved the e-shop and internet browser yesterday :/

Chikara December 6th, 2011 8:51 PM

Nah, the bug only exists on the 3DS version. Everyone who's playing on the DS isn't having the problem, as far as I've read.

Ah, you meant the new game, huh? That kind of bug... since most 3DS games are not exactly patchable, I can only hope that system updates might circumvent the issue, or a recall.

Chikara December 6th, 2011 11:18 PM

Yeah that's what I meant haha. The 3DS should be able to support a freaking HM game, but it lags(which I've never seen happen on any non-PC game), and freezes during screen changes(normally only when you're in the mountain area, but Iv'e had it freeze when I walked into someones house).

....Sooo I'm hoping that's it's simply the hardware, and not the like... The software lol ;__;

Since it's HM, $100000 says that it's the developer. HM games = glitchy.

kuzronk December 7th, 2011 1:01 AM

The new update is here and Super Pokemon Rumble is comming out tommow/broke street date at some stores in austraila

Legendary Silke December 7th, 2011 6:59 AM

I'm enjoying the little finishing touches on the firmware update... and also messing around with new features. Can't wait for the eShop to get its store updated tomorrow, because that's probably when we see lots of new stuff.

Sometimes you can also do it with what you have. As long as the video codec is MJPEG and the audio IMA ADPCM or uncompressed PCM and the video height is 240 pixels, anything should work.

The full list of GBA games coming to the Ambassador's has been announced. The release date, too.
I am not disappointed one bit. Not at all. Sure, there are some games I would've liked, but this is just fantastic. The games that we will be getting are:

F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi’s Island
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Metroid Fusion
Wario Land 4
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames

These will all be available worldwide, this Friday the 16th.
And here's the source.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm just going to go in my corner and laugh maniacally.

For once, I am about to replay them again. On a portable. Backlit goodness, GO!

I created a thread about it, too Too excited, huh?

Railgun December 14th, 2011 5:29 AM

I would like to see the 3DS able to call other 3DS like a phone. not sure if it will ever happen or can but I can dream.
