Most Annoying Status Problem?

Whenever you battle a trainer, or any Pokemon for that matter, you could be at risk for obtaining a Status Problem. These include becoming Poisoned, Paralyzed, Frozen, Confused, Burned, or put to Sleep.

My question to you is which one of these Status Problems do you find the most annoying?

I find Confusion the most annoying, because my Pokemon always hit themselves when I need them most >.>

Meduza January 20th, 2011 2:10 PM

Paralyzing.

As least Sleep and Confusion wear off, this little bugger doesn't <.<

Morgnarok January 20th, 2011 2:21 PM

Sleep because you are pretty much helpless enless you are able to heal the status.

Sydian January 20th, 2011 2:56 PM

I got completely Sleep haxed the other day, so right now, I'm a big sleep hater.

I don't think I have to say anything else. :P

The confusion AND paralyzing combo various trainers use. It is just simply annoying. Espically in a Wi-fi battle because you cannot use items (unless in B/W) But seriously, that is the worst combo of status'.

Lord_Storm January 20th, 2011 11:31 PM

Of the main status problems, the most annoying is Paralysis, due to the fact that it never stops. But combined with Infatuation, You get about a 40% change to attack each turn, and with Confusion in play, I think you have a 10% chance to attack. If I'm wrong then just correct me.

Paralyze for me, folowed closely by Confusion. The Speed drop when paralyzed really seems to cripple my team more than the Confusion backlash.

Which is why I hate the Static ability with a passion.

PlatinumDude January 21st, 2011 8:34 PM

Being asleep/confused for 4 turns, being paralyzed and confused at the same time and infatuation in tandem with other statuses are what really annoy me.

Gero50 January 21st, 2011 8:52 PM

I too hate Confusion the most not only because you do damage to yourself, but because I never seem to be able to avoid it even when i try. :/

RYOUKI January 21st, 2011 9:12 PM

CONFUSION! You're always hoping that they'll snap out of it. And I'm always annoyed at how when my opponent is confused, it never bothers them.

Kamitsure-chan January 21st, 2011 9:13 PM

Paralysis. Freaking paralysis. D< *has a personal vendetta against paralysis*

The Red Chain January 21st, 2011 10:12 PM

Freeze, because you can't do anything until it thaws. This somewhat goes for sleep too but it feels like sleep wears off faster.

At least with paralysis and confusion you still have a chance of attacking. Confusion can be rid by switching out too.
With freeze you're left sitting there waiting for what feels like forever taking damage like crazy especailly in Wifi.
I swear Wifi is the ONLY place it happens to me too, never in-game. D<

I hate Paralyses because it quarters your speed and makes you unable to attack and it just doesn't go away.

Eurydice January 21st, 2011 10:47 PM

i would say paralysis. its annoying and doesnt go away. after that i would say sleep/frozen just because u cant do anything

vudw January 29th, 2011 1:56 AM

Going by experience rather than numbers and statistics:

ATTRACT. I mean, sure, you didn't list it, but it is my bane. I'm glad it doesn't come up all that often, if at all, as it always works against me. Using it myself is the usual hit-or-miss though, but I certainly wouldn't mind using it if I can.

CONFUSION takes a close second, and it's much more common. I have no luck with it with some of my team, so I just switch out Pokemon or use Confuse Ray right off the bat. :U

Elsword January 29th, 2011 4:48 AM

Burn.
huge attack decrease grrr

YellowFTW January 29th, 2011 6:01 AM

Poison, it still hurts you while you're out of battle...

Aquacorde January 30th, 2011 12:41 PM

Sleep because you're stuck with it unless you cure or wait for it to wear off, or poison because it still does damage outside of battle.

Calamity January 30th, 2011 1:41 PM

Gotta' be paralysis, speed decrease usually messes up my strategy -_- Close second though is probably confusion, dont ask, %^£%ing Zubats.

white lancer January 30th, 2011 10:40 PM

Confusion. Curse you, Golbat and Tentacruel!

I was gonna put this exact thing. Your Pokemon gets confused and it starts beating itself. You confuse someone elses Pokemon? Well Maybe, MAYBE, they hurt themselves but in my experience... it rarely happens. Thats why confusion is the status problem I absolutely hate the most.

Andrut January 31st, 2011 3:21 AM

Freeze.
When i use it on the foe, he defrosts after 2 or 3 turns, however most of the times when i was frozen i had waited a huge number of turns (sometimes over 10) just to get out of it.
I also always hated Confusion, making me burst with anger when a Confuse Ray or Supersonic hits me.

imevil January 31st, 2011 5:58 AM

Poison, even after the battle its still killing you

649 January 31st, 2011 6:17 AM

Okay, I can't decide, so I'll list my opinions.

Sleep - ugh. I hate being unable to do anything, but at least I wake up a bit later.

Paralysis - I don't mind the speed drop, as I usually use slow pokemon, and it's great with Gyro Ball :). But when I'm fully paralyzed, that's just irritating. Once, my Regirock got fully paralyzed for 15 turns in a row.

Confusion - This is probably why I use defensive pokemon. If you have high attack and low defense, you end up suiciding.

Freeze - not much of a problem, as I don't face it that much, but when I do, it's worse than sleep. I do tend to freeze my opponents, so I guess they should be the ones complaining.

Burn - the bane of physical sweepers. It also hurts you every turn, but not outside of battle like poison.

Poison - that out-of-battle damage is really annoying, thank god they removed that in B/W. But it's still annoying when you have to switch out constantly to prevent Toxic from becoming too strong.

Attract - every time my pokemon get infatuated, I can't attack. or even use healing moves. or anything. Genderless pokemon ftw, though.

and the most forgotten one, Curse - Normally, not a big problem, as you usually end up OHKOwning the ghost, and you can switch out. But if you're doing a solo run, you're dead. I hated Morty in my solo run, feels like I couldn't win.
