We are aware of this bug, but not what actually causes it. We're trying to fix it.

6.freeze when you press blue icon in map card

We really need more information than that in order to fix the bugs.

Does anyone know what we're supposed to do/find in the Rocket Treasure Hunt near Leaf Bay City? I spent about 1 hour in there and found nothing. In fact, I had the feeling I kept going round in circles.

As for the old lady's blackglasses in Essence town, I've looked for them everywhere in and around the city and never found them. Could anyone give me a hint? I take it from LaZ that it's not hidden, but I'm still clueless.

Anyway, I love the hack even more now that I'm in the "totally new" part of it. Keep up the good work.

Hey, I have a quick question, and would appreciate, if I'd get a quick answer.

Are there any benefits to catching a number of pokemon? Like in FR/LG, where Oak would send aides every 20 or so with some items. And if I get something for a specific number, could someone please post how many should I catch?

I'm at Olivine right now and captured every single one I could up to this point (I'm really afraid I'll miss out on something), but AltTab-bing every while out of VBA to Advance Mapper and walking back and forth though the grass makes the game kinda boring in my opinion...

Also, to everyone wondering about the Lost Woods (I dunno if it was posted, 93 thread pages, man), if You go there right after getting Surf and the badge, You'll see Suicune at the pond, like he/she/it used to appear in Crystal in a couple of places.

Problem getting past Violet City

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or missing something, but I'm having trouble getting past Violet City.

The first thing I did there was go up the Bellsprout Tower, and when I did, my rival was up there and had just got HM Flash (I assume it's flash) and left. But when I talk to the elder he won't fight me or give me the HM.
When I go to the gym in Violet city, all the trainers in there speak to me as if I've already fought and beaten them, including Falkner, but I have not. I don't have any badges or anything.
If I try to leave the city, there's a kid blocking the way who tells me to go back to the gym...

Is this a bug? Or am I supposed to do something else?

Okay, thanks a bunch! :) hopefully it will work!

Hey everyone. I just needed to make a quick stop and say what an awesome hack this is. I'm really new to the community and this is my first hack played. I gotta say it is awesome. I'm still just right after i beat the elite four first time playing and is still wondering in the warping area trying to find the switches.

I have basically found 3 of the stone sellers but i am afraid i forgot where the moon stones were sold. the sun stone i don't even know if there is a seller.

Spoiler:

first is in violet city (need surf) on the right of the spout tower there is a lake surf through it and u should see a guy that will sell it for 2100 each (fire stone)
Blackthorn for the thunder stone. In the pokemon center there should be a guy right next to the PC he'll sell
The next is in Kanto. Right before the nugget bridge in celrulean city. There should be a guy behind a house talk to him and he'll sell u water stone
the leaf stone is in lavander town the market up top from a nerdy looking guy like always
I think the moon stone seller is also in Blackthorn city but there might be a specific time for him to appear. I remember buying mine at a mountainous area...

I have not read the posts above so ignore if this has been said already

I have noticed some changed with the placement of the legendary Pokemons. Cus i followed a video on YouTube about the 2.1 beta in attempt to find groundon but failed...
but there are still some bugs that i experienced during my play. Some of the soft soil patches does not work after i plant berries in them. Or they just eat my berries like those blasted vending machines that eats my quarters.

I'm also having some problems with the evolutions. Can anyone tell me how to evolve a kadabra, gravaler or a machoke? i got steelix after training my onix to level 26. But it sure came a suprise when i found ralts after cherrygrove and poochyena before.
I can't also get the pokedex to work correctly it only shows a map of Kanto for the area of the pokemon and not Johoto. so is it a bug or am i doing something wrong?

The Sun Stone seller is at the Olivine lighthouse :) Thanks for the rest of them!

I think it's more of an engine limitation, might be wrong though.

Headbutting trees seems to not work on Ampharos. I taught my Farfetch'd to headbutt and it works fine. I've tested this around 50 times with my Ampharos. Either I'm really unlucky, or it's a bug.

Thanks for the location. And I've just found out that the poke seer in cinawood city can tell when the pokemon evolves.

Also the teleport system is weird it tells you to more random places. I think there is like a pattern so i'm trying to figure out this thing.
Spoiler:

in Johto it tellied me to cereluan city
in Kanto right outside cereluean cave it tellies you to route 41 in whirl islands
I'm at cinawood city right outside pokemon seer and it'll teleport me to fuchsia city
it changed again to golden rod

but these seem to change with time. Cus yesterday and just a couple minture ago it tellied me to route 41. Now it's just tellying me to fuchsia city

also i've found somthing weird. When a pokemon learns a new move it is not better sometimes even if it says it has better power. Like when my typhlosion learns flame wheel at first i did better damage with ember. It was against the exact same pokemon cus i just loaded F10. So is there a system that the more u use a move the better it becomes? Does anyone have an answer?

can anyone also tell me where amulet coin is? Oak said he left it with his aid but i can't find him in route 16....

I think the AIDES don't work, they are a leftover from FireRed.

In Gold/Silver/Crystal the Amulet Coin was at the basement of Goldenrod Department Store. When You'd reenter the area, the containers there would be placed in a random order. It doesn't work like that in Liquid Crystal, and I don't have a clue how to make the leftmost container move or disappear (inb4 hacking), because there are two item balls there that I can't get to...

I can confirm it's working. Wow, you're really unlucky.

You get access to one of the items after cleaning the Underground. I have absolutely no idea how to get to the other one though.

Typhlosion specs up higher with special attack. Ember is a special-focused move, while flame wheel is a physical move based on attack. Your special attack should be higher than your physical attack. Flame wheel is also not too much stronger than ember in terms of attack power. Therefore, ember should hit for higher.

BUG:

I think this is a bug, but I'm not quite sure. So I'm nearing the end of the game, when I've already defeated Team Rocket and fought my rival in the Dragon's Den. After I go to see Mr. Oak about the Orange Islands, he stamps my S.S. ticket and tells me to go to Vermillion. I go there, and then go to the police headquarters because Azel (I think that's his name) tells me to go see him. He gives me another assignment, which is the finding strong trainers one. After that, I get my underwater sea pass from the same building. However, when I go to the ship, they tell me to get a sea pass (which I already got). Then they say "The ship is not sailing right now". So...no idea what happened there.

I'm using the Fire Red rom, and there is no previous save file.

Am I supposed to be using a specific edition of Fire Red?

To go to the Orange Islands, you need to take the Underwater Express (which is a train like the Magnet), not the boat. To find it, you have to surf south-east of Newbark Town. Hope this helps.

I surfed southeast and dived down. It's still not there.

There's no need to dive lol sorry, my message was not clear so you must have misunderstood. In New Bark Town, surf east, then south, then east again. It's a new route Linkandzelda added. It's full of rocks and stuff, but eventually you should arrive on an island with a buidling on it. The "Underwater Express" station is in that building. :)

you need to change the real time setting in your emu. go to options then scroll down to emulator then check the list carefully. there should be a option that is not checked called "real time clock" right below AGB Print. Just put real time clock on and u should be good ^^

You can use YAPE to fix the compatibility, I think it's the only way.]

Playing slots all day, eh? :)

i gotta admit the weather in LC 3.1 is really depressing especially with cindaquil as a starter... all i'm getting is rain, rain, and more rain.... What happened to sandstorms and hail?

Agreed - I picked Totodile, which is great for the rain but training Arcanine is a pain.

Is it any way to get Charmander/Mareep/Larvitar/Dratini?

Murkrow April 29th, 2012 4:50 AM

this is the pkmn location faq as of the last beta...(and apparently the only one i can find..)
http://www.pokecommunity.com/showpost.php?p=4742432&postcount=2735

still seems quite accurate even for this latest beta
of course if someone could update this for the lastest version it would be best.
especially considering a few new pkmn has been added to all johto routes:

Gold011 April 29th, 2012 10:23 AM

hey guys, i think i may sound like a noob but, since the new live log is at another page, then, where do i download the latest live beta ips patch?, i'm confused....i want an ASAP reply if possible....
EDIT:well, i also want to ask, i defeated team saturn at saffron, and earned the badges from vermillion, saffron and celadon, then, i was told to do some event at lavender town, but i can't get there from saffron, then, the only way is to go through fuchisa, and this may sound noob, again, but, that means that i have to earn fuchisa gym badge and then go to lavender town and do the event?
EDIT 2:well, also, the move tutor at goldenrod that teaches dragon claw, when i talked to him after doing the pkmn league 1st time, he was talking like if he already taught the move, well, i have a salamance, and for some reason...it can't learn flamethrower for the guy that teaches that move for coins....then again, what moves do you recomend to put on my salamance...

Trmn05 April 29th, 2012 5:31 PM

I don't know if these have been reported yet, but I found some bugs.

1. Teleporting takes me to Cerulean City even though, I'm only in Azalea Town.

2. Talking to the third trainer after defeating him on the top floor of Sprout Tower crashes the game.

charmander is at fusha city right left of the pokemon center goin the house and talk to the girl she'll give u a charmander.

Mareep can be found a cherrygrove city right in the pokemon center on the far right bottom corner should be a guy with yellow hair capature a poliwag and trade it to him for a mareep.

Lavitar can either be caught a Mt Silver after defeating all of Johoto and Kanto gym leaders. It can be accessed right before victory road where the guy that used to block you first time when u meet elite four will be gone. Or get enough money for coins or get enough coins (game tokens from slots) and trade it in at celedon city (need 8888 coins)

Dratini can be caught at dragons den. Or gotten from an old man at the dragons den after defeating team what ever it's name is. I did not get it from the old man so i do not know if the dratini received from him will know extreme speed or not

well for the latest ip patch i don't know. But you can either get the gym badge or not before going to lavander town but you'll need the badge to get through the two guys in saffron. I do not know salamance's move because i never trained one before but dragon claw would definately be one to get. Salamence can learn the move at level 79 by it self so....

i think it should be
Hidden power (flying)
Crunch
dragon claw
double edge.

these worked out pretty well for me ^^

I mean right now LC cannot battle other players so level will determine almost all pokemon battles in a NPC encounter. Why waste time figuring out movesets that counter certain things?

Yes you should defeat Fuchsia gym and the route there is the only way to go to lavender town but when you complete the event there the outpost between Saffron city and Lavender town will open up so that you don't really had to go back all the way again...

linkandzelda April 30th, 2012 4:53 AM

Hello everyone! I have an announcement. I was busy this weekend with a few surprises. All of the changes announced today are due to a sudden raise in demand for LC.

Live Beta System Evolved!
Over the last week something happened with LC. It was posted onto Reddit and since then, there's been over 6000 new downloads. This is amazing news and consider this my thanks to everyone for the support, but there was a problem I had to address. On the night that it was posted, the Live Beta IPS link was exhausted from all the new downloads and eventually it went offline. The service I relied on had blocked the file from being able to be downloaded due to bandwidth. This meant that nobody could download LC until I fixed it.

So I fixed it, and recreated the download page to match LC's Bootscreen. I also added 4 mirrors, so that if it ever happens again there's a mirror to turn too. All 4 of the mirrors are Live Beta compatible, so they all give the latest release!

But, that's not quite all of it...

LC's Main Hub
For ever since I can remember, this was the main base for LC. It was posted here first back in 2007, and has continued to be the place that's kept updated the most. The Main download was located on my forums, The Pokémon World being the exclusive place to get it. Well, due to Reddit and high activity of LC that can't be the case any more.

From this day forward, I have created a new site dedicated to LC, over at http://linkandzelda.com/liquidcrystal. You can find a lot of things on the site such as the main Download link, Features, Videos and other information about LC that you guys might not be aware of.

But, there's something special on that site that will be useful to you guys.

The Development Journal - New Live Log
For a while I relied on the Live Log as the primary means to update everyone on the latest additions and fixes. That method works flawlessly for people, but only if they come to this thread and find the link to the Hack Bug Report Database on the first post. While I consider this to be sufficient for everyone following this thread, it's not sufficient for new-comers that don't know about Pokécommunity or The Pokémon World. The Hack Bug Report Database is also not findable easily from The Pokémon World forums.

That's why I decided to build a new solution, the Development Journal located on the main LC site at Linkandzelda.com/liquidcrystal/journal. It's a blog which completely replaces the Live Log and is integrated to the main LC site. Over there i'll be posting *everything* that happens with LC whenever it happens. Instead of just a simple change log item, there will be a blog post with explanations and other details, reasons and all sorts of stuff you might find interesting.

Every time I make a post to the Journal, it get's automatically posted to My Twitter and the new LC Facebook Page. This means that the auidicene for LC has reached a much much larger area than just a simple hidden section on The Pokémon World. So it's official, the Live Log has moved to the Journal, Twitter and Facebook. It also means you can follow my twitter and Zeikku's Twitter to be informed of the updates. I guess what I'm really saying, is that I no longer have the time to post updates on the forums.

What Should You Do
Well I would like to encourage people to visit the Development Journal and to subscribe via Email, the you can be informed of the updates that way. You can follow mine or Zeikku's twitter for the Journal updates too. Oh, and if you can go ahead and Like the Facebook page that would be great! For the time being the Hack Bug Report Database will remain at The Pokémon World, so continue to use it like normal. When I get back to work on LC I'll be going through the bugs posted there again and fixing what I can.

Also, I'm just gonna say this and you can take it how you please. These services are starting to cost me quite a bit of money to keep running. If you ever feel like supporting me and LC to the max, then feel free to use the donate button on the main site. This isn't a request but I'm just letting people know I added a button there.

Oh, and if there's any problems with the site then let me know and I'll get it sorted! I'll still be around here but just expect less frequent updates from me and Zeikku here.

swooshington April 30th, 2012 5:05 AM

Just wanted to say that I've been playing this for a few hours now (I am late to the rom hacks game I'm afraid) and I am loving it. I've played every single Pokemon game since Blue/Red were released and I really do think that this holds up against them (and in a lot of cases is a much better game!)

Many thanks to those who were involved

I found a couple more bugs. I don't know if they are known or not.

1. In Ilex Forest if you interact with the Farfetch'd, but leave the area before getting it back to its owner it will glitch. Whenever you interact with it from now on it will get stuck in a tree and not move.

2. At the Day Care if you talk to the old lady she'll say you have a pokemon that can be picked up, even though you haven't left one off. The pokemon you receive is a BAD EGG.

EDIT: Found another mistake. It's not really a bug.

1. The sign on the left of the Poke Center in Goldenrod identifies it as a Poke Mart instead of a Poke Center.

EDIT 2: Is there anything wrong with the weather? In my game it is raining about 75% of the time.

EDIT 3: After getting the squirt bottle. The girl who gives it to you has a spelling error. She says "on't do anything too dangerous!" The "D" was left out in don't.

beat Laz and Zeikku. Get to cerulean and then go to the powerplant for the lost machine part event. Just follow where it takes you and you'll get the item that wakes snorlax. Happy hunting ^^. Oh yea BTW when the powerplant is in operation go do a quest in the lavander radio tower.

oh yea can anyone also tell me where the moon stone seller is. I've been looking all over and still can't find it
Spoiler:

the machine part you'll be looking for is in the cerulean gym in the little square.

I THINK it's the one in the Celadon Mansion, but I'm not sure.

First go to power plant and then complete the rocket grunt event at cerulean city after that go back to power plant and then to lavender town's radio tower.. the director there will give you pokeflute app.
and yes do the zapdos event and then go battle Laz AND Zeikku..

Hmm...so I can't find Articuno? I looked in the walkthrough and it is not where it should be, which is the Underwater Cavern. I placed all 3 flutes at Outskirt Island, and I've already caught Zapdos and Moltres.

Also, how do you catch Rayquaza? The guide said that I needed to get both Kyogre and Groudon, which I did. However, the staircase still never ends. Do I need to have both of them in my party?

Thanks for this great game!

hey guys, i have some questions, where do i get trapinch? (since salamance can't learn flamethrower, and by now it have a not that good move set i think i might have to rely on flygon), where can i get the hoenn starters?, are they aviable?, and if so, do you recomend me to stick with typhlosion, train my charmander, or get and train a torchic?, oh, and where can i get mudkipz (well i know that "z" is some kind of joke, but i still don't get it...)? and a chikorita?

i don't know if the hoenn started are available but you can get the chikorita from a old man to johto falls Just search around the place.
Edit: trapinch is not the prize spoink is and you can catch a vibrava in route 45 in the grass
and for the choice of party it depends on what kind of party you want to stack up and what other pokemon you have with you.
Typhlosion
Hp: 78
Attack: 84
Def: 78
Sp att 109
sp def 85
speed 100
total 534
Charizard
HP:78
Attack: 84
Defense: 78
Sp Attack 109
Sp. Defense: 85
Speed 100
total: 534
Blaziken
hp 80
att 120
def 70
sp att 110
sp def 70
speed 80
total 530

from above typhlosion and charizard have the same stats both would be best if you have alot of special attacks. it is not fast nor not too slow so it would be well rounded in terms of tactics. Blaziken is a bit extreme. Although its speed is still not considered slow it falls behind many other pokemon. The attack is really high so it is really great in attack in both physical and special attacks. But it falls a bit short in the defense department. Blaziken is really great if it is high leveled vsing a lower leveld pokemon but on the same level especially with a type disadvantage it can be a little fragile.

An evolution bug: Skiploom evolves into Skiploom, not Jumpluff (in game, but I also checked through Pokemon Editor), it's impossible to get Jumpluff without hacking.

No, I did not, it doesn't say that Skiploom stopped evolving, it says it evolved into Skiploom. Also the "P.E." tool in the GBA Pokemon Game Editor says, that Skiploom evolves into Skiploom, at level 18.

Also, I can't use Battle Tower, when Nurse Joy takes me to the room, and I enter, I seem to be off the map. Checked with AdvanceMapper, and the warp point is out of the room.

Also, what is this talk here about adding someone's number? I talk to everyone in the game, with trainers before and after the battle, used the VS Seeker (Pokegear) on some and I never had the chance to get someone's number, and the only person who calls me is Elm...

I'm in Lavender at the moment if that means/changes anything.

There is no such talk about getting any trainers numbers in 3.1 beta. you just need to charge the VS seeker and use it in front of some trainers who will battle you again... Note not all trainers battle you when you use VS SEEKER

Yeah, I know about the VS Seeker's functionality.

Well then, I think I must've read about adding numbers in some other hack and mixed up the info with LC.

So, after reading through all 95 pages. I have noticed that no one seems to want to answer the question: "Where can you find the Blue Flute?". Don't know why, but it seems to be a question with no answer. Perhaps this time will be different.

Would anyone please tell me the location of the Blue Flute? I already obtained the Yellow flute and beat the story before so I know that Axel gives me the red flute. But where can I find the Blue Flute?

You find it in Violet City. Behind the Gym surf up and the guy standing there will give you it.

And sorry of off-topic, but i want to play one hack of the pokemon platinum for gba, but i dont find anyone, and i want one that is like the original game, because i found light platinum but have other maps invented and that things, and i want one game like original, like liquid crystal, with some changes ok but other maps and that i dont like, do you know one game like that?

No. The ROM doesn't have enough space to add Hoenn, besides which, we have no intention of having Hoenn in LC.

I wonder when I can catch the Articuno in my game, as I had placed the flute on the pedestral on the outlying island, and Have caught the Suicune, however, when i go to the supposed cave in the ice path where articuno lives, i found nothing.

Is there any condition for articuno to be present? or i am just out of luck, and had to restart my game?

question Laz. are you currently thinking about the beta 4? because pokemon liquid crystal was absolutely the best pokemon game of all time, its a game i want to play all the time with minor bugs like game freezes now/then or bad egg or doesnt redrict u so on. but absolutely fantastic work. im ust very eager to play ittrhought the orange islands and maybe beat the gym a third stage along with all the gyms in kanto and red aswell. all hands o the desk this is a game i would get my wallet up from the dashboard in my car and pay up to play.

*sigh*... you are in the wrong thread. This is about Liquid Crystal, which has nothing to do with Light Platinum. I've seen your recent posts and I can tell you're new here, and even though you could ask anything without sounding like a *****ing kid, here's everything you want to know:

-No, there is no remake of the DS gen games for GBA yet.
-There is no hack with every poke gen AND original maps at the same time.
-Yes, every hack you find will have something different from the original games.
-Life is not a picnic.

You could know all these things just by doing a little reading on the emulation forum.

Try running around the area, or take a walk around the whole region, I'm not sure. I had the same problem and after like 2 hours of walking around, battling, catching, exploring caves and such they finally appeared. There's also a professor after you leave Ilex Forest on the way to Goldenrod City which stands on a beach, behind the fence on the left which tells something about pillars. Maybe talking to him will solve the problem. But I can't guarantee he'll be there as I haven't checked that area before.

Also I have a question. I'm sorry if I'm repeating question about catching Rayquaza but I just can't seem to find it. I caught Kyogre, Groudon and all other available legendaries, found ruby, sapphire and meteorite and every time I try to get past infinite stairs, I can't. Can someone explain to me how to get past them? Maybe I'm doing something wrong or maybe I still need to do something find it?

Plus I found few bugs.
1. When fishing in Silver Cave with any rod wild "???????????" appears, every time.
2. Sometimes PokeDex entries of Pokemon you saw/caught disappear leaving empty space as if you never seen it. Seeing that Pokemon in battle fixes it though.
3. When you're talking to the lady which tells you about evolution Pokemon (Cianwood City), a "Bad Egg" replaces 1 of my Pokemons in PC box 2 (at least in my case, I have almost 5 boxes filled). It only appears when she explains how a Pokemon evolves, when talking to her without selecting any doesn't cause this bug.
4. In Cianwood City, in a small area where you find Suicune, your character freezes when you try to enter it. It didn't happen to me when I was chasing after it though, but long after I caught it. I'm attaching screenshot since I can't post a link.

Sounds good and I would definitely be willing to play it, but it seems as if that would be extremely challenging to make. Custom sprites for all the 4th gen pokemon, all of the new moves, plus animations for those moves? Whoo, boy... But you could probably manage it (It would take a few years, of course). After all, you guys already have the physical/special split working in LC, so that's one thing out of the way. I would imagine that the Poketch from D/P/Pt would not be included, but that's fine, as most of the functions were largely superficial anyway. The Pokenav was much better IMO.

Since you were able to put both Johto and Kanto in this one, wouldn't you be able to put Hoenn into Platinum Origins? (I seem to hear a LOT of people asking about whether Hoenn is in Liquid Crystal which, naturally, it isn't.) It would be interesting to revisit Hoenn and see how it has changed in the years following the story. Perhaps it has undergone some rapid growth and thus some places (like Slateport) are now large cities. The Battle Frontier also presents an excellent opportunity to fight legendary trainers from the pokemon universe, such as Red from Gen1, Steven from Gen3, or even Yellow or Ruby from the Pokemon manga. There are a lot of possibilities. Of course, if you decided to do this, then it'd be easier if you were using a R/S/E rom. Doing that would make both Liquid Crystal and Platinum Origins THE definitive "main story remake" pokemon hacks out there.

Anyway, I'm not saying you have to do this, or even that you have to make it in the first place. Who knows? You might get tired of making Pokemon hacks along the way or maybe have too many demands on your time. Happens all the time.

But the main thing now is to finish LC, right? A few minor touch-ups here and there, the inclusion of the pokegear, and you've pretty much got a finished product.

Great work so far, though! Can't wait to see what you guys will cook up next!

Chris41279 May 9th, 2012 8:07 PM

Hello All, im brand new here. But came here strictly for LC! I was wondering, i've found a guide for Beta 2, but have been unable to find a guide for Beta 3.1.

Are there so many changes from Beta 2 to 3.1 that a new guide would be required?

Have pokemon locations changed from Beta 2 to Beta 3.1? (My main reason for asking this, is i can't find Swablu on Rt 31 which is what the Beta 2 guide says for his location)

Which generation are the skill sets by level based on? I know (or at least think i do) that this was built off of the FR rom, but from what i understand some of the map layouts are from previous Gens?

Other than that, man does it take so much longer to lvl up in this one vers FR! I have a base FR rom im playing also, and my skills seem to less damage in LC, as well as the pokemon in LC seem to utilize status effects much more often. Im guessing this is all by design?

Thanks for your time, and patience. I would try and read through all this to find the info im seeking, but i have one eye that is drastically weaker than the other and reading for extended lengths of time anymore gives me massive headaches. So before im flamed for not being good at research, please understand why.

Again, Thanks for your time :)

Yo You all...

Many people above mentioned not finding a pedestal and then another said he found after a long time.. You guys must know that as the game uses Real Time clock, these events are time related and open up for you after a specific time.. so you must activate and event when its time comes other wise you would not be able to access that event yet.. I hope you guys understood what I am trying to saying..

I actually don't think the pedestals are clock-related, more like script related.

To the guy who asked about the pedestals: on Route 34, behind the fence, on a beach, should be a guy (with glasses and a white lab coat), who says, that strange pillars popped out of the ground. Then you can go to Outskirt and place the flutes there. Of course, You are only less than half way through the game then, and You won't be able to find them yet. If the guy isn't there, then You haven't progressed through the story enough.

You should use VBA, other emulators have confirmed incompatibilities.

Found another bug to report. After beating Elite Four for the third time, Bad Egg replaces 1 of my Pokemons in PC box 4. It wouldn't be that bad but it replaces Raikou, checked 3 times if it happens, and every time result is the same.

Nevermind it doesnt but is there a version of vba for mac that will work with the game i cant change the clock and the sound wont work for your game a shame though seems cool though limited without the working clock function

Dude, I'm running vba on a mac with absolutely no problems. I'm on the orange islands too, and haven't had any crashes or anything. I also haven't had any problems on any other games I've played using it. One, turn on the real time clock on your emulator itself (under preferences, there's just an option for real time clock). I don't know what the sound problem you're having is caused by. Maybe you don't have the latest vba emulator?

I was wondering if anyone had any answer's for these questions?

Rybson May 11th, 2012 11:40 AM

Could anyone help me? how can i activate pedestals for flutes i got all of em but pedestales are not here.i Couldn't find a proper answer on forum.

Hey guys, just posting to say that there'll be a sneaky nice new addition to LC within the next few days. I won't tell you what it is, but you should spot it pretty quickly once it HAS been inserted.

Also, a reminder not to ask me anything about the events in the game, as I had no part in their creation and as such, have no idea what happens. I haven't even managed to finished the hack yet, myself (due to horrendous luck with the Slowpoke Well bug).

I can help with things which are ASM or engine bugs, or even attempt to track down and fix bugs in scripting, but I know next to nothing about what happens in the game, sadly. :(

Is there going to be pokegear, or am I missing something?

1. There are a lot of changes, the walkthrough is outdated.

2. Swablu is still on Route 31, use Advance Map 1.92 if in doubt. I played half of the game with the Pokemon list, it's not 100% accurate, at least one poke on the list wasn't in game, and some in game weren't mentioned (inb4 which; I don't remember)

3. Generation 3, although remember, that some TM's have been changed for others, while their compatibility wasn't changed (vide Dragon Fang IIRC)

4. Actually, at the end of beta I had 4 Poke on 100th level, and evolved all of my PC Pokes, (if their evolutions I didn't already have) to get them in the Pokedex. I played solo (as I always do) with Larvitar/Pupitar/Tyranitar, with 3 HM slaves. After evolving all I had, I just gave each an Exp. Share to not waste the XP. I went to the Type Masters with Noctowl on 48th level, went out with it on 98th, so yeah. IIRC, I never got my Poke to 100th in vanilla games.

No mate. That would be a major addition, which would necessitate us releasing a new "official" beta and asking all players to restart. It's smaller than this, but something which should help deepen the immersion of being in a different region from Kanto. Something which has been standard in every Pokémon game except from Generation 1, it's even in the 3rd Gen remakes of Gen 1 (in a roundabout way).

Thanks a TON for the answers, Kane!

Ok, so if Swablu is definitely on Rt 31, do i have to get him out of a tree? Or during a specific time of day? Cause i have ran back and forth through that grass for EONS and beat on them tree's knocking whatever i could out of them just as long almost. And that's even with the Throttle constantly on, so im covering much more ground in less time.

I dont know why im having so many issues.

EDIT: So would you say then, those 3 pokemon you used are quite a formidable match up against most? I'm a dumby when it comes to type match ups, and any of the advanced strategy stuff (Such as EV training, etc..)

No, it's not on trees. No, the "different pokemon on different time of day" mechanic is not implemented. It's in the grass. And, in most of the cases, the Hoenn poke are very, VERY hard to get. The only way is to run back and forth and pray to the RNG, that he'll send you a Swablu.

Also, grass, trees, surfing and fishing all use different spawn tables.

As I said, I used only 1 Pokemon, the 3 others were HM slaves (used only for Fly, Flash, Cut, Strength, Rock Smash, Headbutt, Surf, Dive, Whirlpool and Waterfall). I used the second one (Noctowl), in double battles and sometimes to hypnotize legendaries and catch them. I did not use any advanced breeding techniques, PokeRus, effort values, nothing. Just used different attacks to maximize damage against as many types as I could. So Tyranitar had Ice Beam, Earthquake, Aerial Ace and Thrash (to not waste PPs of other moves against weak poke).

I only had trouble at the Type Masters gauntlet (because of no level difference), and there I sometimes switched to Noctowl, hypnotized the enemy and Dream Eater'd them.

James4832 May 11th, 2012 4:45 PM

So, any updates on the progress? Like 3.2 or 4.0?

Thank you very much for the detailed responses! I think i'll give that a try! :) Are there other good Pokemon to use in this fashion? As 1 man teams?

HongKongBinLaden May 11th, 2012 11:20 PM

I had finish the main story, however, i can still unable to find the zapdos in rock tunnel where it should be there , while the other 2 birds are captured. Is this a glitch,or should i have to finish more of the story?

main story means i had passed over the zane base in orange island.

Btw, is there anyway to awaken the groundon in dragon den? I am unable to figure it out.

Well, I always use pseudo-legendary pokemon. Always check, with Bulbapedia for instance, what the pokemon is weak to and strong against. To somewhat even things out, I always make the ingame Rival take a poke, that is super effective against mine, like normally (so with Tyranitar, the enemy had Totodile; now I'm playing Expert Emerald with Beldum, the Rival has Torchic. Back in the days, when I did not change the starter, I usually used the fire ones (Charmander, Cyndaquil and Torchic) and still went through the game with only one.
