Yes I did but it's going to be a pain to get a female Cyndaquil all over again.

and I'm still getting the guy on route 30 so I'm thing its a glitch in the game

Viktormizer October 18th, 2012 7:40 PM

Where is Houndour in this game? I've been trying Route 36 for a while now and it isn't showing up.

Drakasshadow October 18th, 2012 10:02 PM

Have you noticed the problems with the pokedex giving you wrong false capture data like when you evolve a Cyndaquil into a quilava then it tells you that you have a charmeleon in the pokedex but not the quilava infoor or caterpie evoloves into medapod and gigves you pikachu's pokedex info

The situation remains the same until you get a National dex later

Hi,

I just got the 4th badge and decided to go to Mahogany Town. I went in the room with the guy who sells ragecandybars and Lance was there and he let me into the underground. I'm entirely sure this shouldn't have happened because when that happens you've already seen Lance and I haven't.

Having actually done that in SoulSilver recently, I'll confirm you are entirely correct. You do not see Lance until you catch the Red Gyarados, and he is the one who discovers the underground.

Cyclone

Hound of Justice October 20th, 2012 8:36 PM

Yeah and in crystal you need to beat or catch the gyerados then talk to lance in the lake to activate the next event in mahogany town where lance discovers the secret base

Nacho Man October 21st, 2012 11:13 AM

Hi. So, I am having some trouble. First : is it possible to reserect fossils at Goldenrod? The scientist says the machine is not working. Next, I have received both two rubies (both in the underwater dungeon) and two silver wings (one In pewter city ans one from axel) and as they are both key items they do not stack and the second one just disappears. What should I do about that? Finally, I can't access the undersea express even though I got the pass. Thanks

Reject217 October 21st, 2012 6:47 PM

Umm, I just noticed something while training my Tyranitar. In the text, it says that Crunch may lower SP.Def. But when actually used, it lowers the opponent's Def. instead of SP.Def. Just wanted to point that out.

Yes, its a known bug so don't go there yet and instead follow Lake of Rage's path or else some events may glitch

Is there any way to buy Ultra Balls before you fight Suicune? I found like 4 in-game but already used 2 of them before reaching Suicune & Great Balls aren't doing it at all. Is there any city with a store that sells them?

EDIT: Disregard this part, caught Suicune with a Great Ball.

Not sure which one that is. Could you screenshot the exact area/floor it's found on? Also where is Larvitar found?

No, I have not have excess with the screenies but I can give you a perfect hint.
Go through Ecruteak city and then go west. When you reach Mount Mortar go inside it. If you don't encounter it then go further inside it and into another floor

Jambo51 October 23rd, 2012 12:36 PM

Just a quick announcement to say I fixed the evolution Pokédex bug. Unfortunately, I can't make it fix already wrongly set seen/caught flags, but any evolutions which take place from now on should set the correct flags.

Sorry it took so long to fix!

Yes, but you don't need to start the game over again. The only thing is, say, you already evolved Cyndaquil into Quilava, and it wrongly set Charmeleon's flags, I can't (retrospectively) fix that, but all new evolutions will set the correct flags.

As long as you don't mind that too much, then you can play on as normal. If it really bugs you, you'll need to restart your game.

Them's the breaks, and you need to remember, this is a BETA of the hack. It's an accepted risk that you (and all players, of course) may run into bugs every so often, or that the occasional restart may be required. I hope you understand where I'm coming from. :)

XeroNos October 25th, 2012 1:35 AM

And I heard due to increase in pressure of fans LaZ and Zeikku released the beta earlier than expected that's why as it was not yet fully developed these bugs and errors are being reported

Hound of Justice October 25th, 2012 8:19 AM

Lol if thats true then this aint good this is the second time i hear that a mod/hack gets released too early due to fans crying because they cant wait some time while they do something else xD
But anyway this hack is great even with the many bugs and those can be fixed in the future so everything is ok 3)

Strikes October 25th, 2012 8:46 AM

If true then that is a dumb move on LaZ'a part. You don't rush something because a few fans whine about it. Not when the majority of your fanbase are content by waiting and that the whiners will still play your game even if you release the path or beta late.

Take your time with the project and release it when ready. Don't rush it because the fans say so.

Reject217 October 25th, 2012 5:31 PM

been wondering, is there any specific route I should take on West Vale Port?

Stefke October 27th, 2012 8:41 AM

I've just had a major bug in Azalea Town. When I entered Kurt's house, the emulator's screen gets all weird: it alternates black lines and lines with weird squares and I can't get out. Has anyone encountered this before? I downloaded the game from LaZ's website.

Also, is it just me or the game is way more difficult than before? It took me over half an hour to beat Falkner. In the previous Beta and regular GSC I used to beat that gym without even healing.

One last thing, I was looking for a Wooper on route 32. I killed one by mistake, I then had to search for almost AN HOUR before finding one again! Is it supposed to be that rare?

Except for that, great game! Keep up the good work!

I'm venturing a yes here. After all, in Gold and Silver there was a 4% chance to find it during the morning (0% in Crystal) and a 35% chance of finding it during the nighttime hours (30% in Crystal).

I am speaking of the original Gen. II games of course, but they are nonetheless the source for wild Pokémon data. As for how that was translated to the game, I'll let a designer answer that. But yes, if you're hunting during the day, you're not likely to find it. Try at night if there is night in the hack. :)

Okay thanks for the information. I didn't remember Wooper was so rare in GSC. In fact, I remember that I randomly caught one in my very first Gold game -- that's probably why I assumed it was common --, not knowing what it would evolve in or anything, and it became my strongest Pkmn. I don't recall ever having to look that much for it, though, I must have been lucky.

Luck does play a role. Even in Unova's Abundant Shrine, you have a 5% chance of getting Murkrow (Black) or Misdreavus (White), and I encountered two very quickly in my first go. I then went back to get a fresh catch for someone in a trade, and literally went an hour without finding a single one. I couldn't believe it. But it happens.

In Emerald, to date, I've seen two or three Ralts on Route 102. And that's the only place to find them (one went to an in-game trade for something otherwise only available via swarms). Skitty have been more common on 116 than those Ralts in my experience.

You can find it in Mt. Mortar, trust me. It's there.

I encountered a bug. When I try to go to Farfetch' d, it would not even run. I tried doing it many times, but it didn't even move. I would reset the game, but it still wouldn't even run.

Hi everybody!

I wanted to ask if it is possible to get either aerodactyl or zapdos is this game. I am needing something good against birds that also flies.

Is there some kind of file or walkthrough in which I can find the pokemon locations in this hack?

Great game btw!

Zapdos and aerodactyl aer both available. Finding Zapdos is quite tricky as many fans have trouble finding it. It requires the pedestal process which you have to find 3-4 flutes around the game. Aerodactyl is traded to you by a girl on route left of Fuchsia City in Kanto when you give her a Chansey

Among the locations in the original Crystal, I found "Fisherman Tully (Route 42)"; I'd try speaking to the fishermen and see if one coughs it up. The rest are either won as rewards or are found in Kanto, or the Seafoam Islands. This fisherman and stone did not exist in G/S, but did appear in HG/SS.

Hound of Justice October 30th, 2012 11:33 AM

The fisherman gives the water stone after you register him on the phone
(in crystal idk about the remakes)
In LC i found some npcs who sold me stones in pokemon centers i cant remember where though sorry

Viktormizer October 30th, 2012 1:12 PM

Is Houndour located in the same area where Marill is? I assume Houndour must be pretty rare because I've gone around every area in Mt. Mortar for quite a while looking for one.

Go to Olivine when you're able to surf. There are like 2 or 3 ponds there with little patches of land on the other side, there's a water stone on one of them.

Oh my goodness. This is undoubtedly the very best Pokemon hack in existence. Everything about it is gorgeous! :3
I have just one question:
I have been playing Liquid Crystal with the supplied emulator on my computer, but I usually would play a game like this on my PSP, because it is always easier. The first post says that the day/night feature (which is a pretty important feature) only works on a specific emulator. I use UnOfficial gpSP-Kai on my PSP, and I was wondering if this, or any other emulator would work to get Liquid Crystal running properly on my PSP.

Once again i am forced to say that this game is a hack not an original one so please don't say off topic. Water Stone can be bought by one of special NPCs across Johto. I can tell you there locations.
One is inside the surf area in Voilet city. Another one is inside Olivine's lighthouse and there is another one but I seem not to remember his location

Use VBA or VBA-M . The emulator is guaranteed as the best to play GBA ROMs

This is a remake of Pokemon Crystal...... so I don't think that LoZ would allow it, also adding them wouldn't make sense except if he would put the evolved forms.

Everyone ignored my comment on my glitch..........

Your emulator doesn't support RTC (Real-Time Clock). Use one that does, and it'll work :)

Viktormizer November 1st, 2012 9:31 AM

Do you get a second Master Ball in this game at any point? I encountered Entei and I always end up either running out of Ultra Balls or PP for Hypnosis and he gets away. I'm considering just catching him with the Master Ball if I can get another one later.

Is it 100% impossible to link right now? I keep getting a black screen when I enter the trade center or start a multiplayer battle. I used VBAlink 1.7.3.

Hound of Justice November 1st, 2012 5:58 PM

Actually it would be better to have all the 649 pokemon but i guess it would make sense only if they would add more regions but that would take years if its even possible
Is there a limit in the space of fire reds maps or can hackers add more areas if they want without any problems
This hack got 3 regions so that just makes me wonder about it

Cyclone November 1st, 2012 7:18 PM

I know on Emerald you can seemingly create maps as you see fit. I know I've added maps before on a hack (not Light Platinum either). There must be a memory limit as to how many maps there can be in total, however. And not sure about Fire Red.

Kerikulon November 2nd, 2012 9:43 PM

Well I have successfully played through the entirety johto and almost all of kanto. so i can take any questions about them. I also have a few strange things I've encountered. For instance, the first rival battle at the beginning of the game didn't happen; when i returned after getting the egg, ??? would run up to me, and then have no dialogue. and, humorously enough, if i walked again on one of the two activation spots for him, he would then sprint down into the trees. He would do this every time i walked on one of the activation spots. Amusing, but i guess this happened because i evolved my totodile before the battle, so i didn't have a starter in my party for him to base his choice off of. Just a guess, because later i got the cindaquil from the man in the ocean and walked back home from cherrygrove, and he triggered with dialogue and a totodile despite me having picked totodile at the start. after this battle, surfing became bugged and the "riding pokemon" sprite disappeared and you could never go on dry land again. All other rival battles were fine, and were based on my initial starter choice. I'm guessing the script for the first fight was based not off my choice but what i had in my party, a reasonable assumption on the part of the developer but it makes for this weird consequence.

My second question, is how do i get to the seafoam islands. I have done the rest of kanto, have 15 badges, have triggered the team saturn event at the kanto radio tower, and I have no idea what i'm supposed to do. I can reach cinnabar island but the option to fly there never opens up, and I can't get to the other side, so I'm confused as the rubble south of fuchsia is uncleared by this time, unlike the original gold, silver, and crystal versions.

As far as I am aware the TMs are only the johto 2nd gen TMs, so no, no bullet seed

XeroNos November 4th, 2012 11:15 PM

But I got a strange hunch that Bullet seed is available in LC.. Do correct me if I was wrong

Fly is given to you by Chuck's wife outside Cianwood gym when you beat him. As for Waterfall I think Clair or Lance gives you.

Appreciate all the help in here thus far.
On another note, still no luck getting a Houndour. I took screenshots of the floors of Mt. Mortar, can you tell me which one I should be looking for it in specifically?

1: puu.sh/1mXW1

2: puu.sh/1mXXA

3: puu.sh/1mXYZ

4: puu.sh/1mY08

5: puu.sh/1mY0B

Is it supposed to be super rare or only available during night time or something?

Is it found there? The original Crystal only had Houndour on Route 7, and only at night (this was maintained in G/S and HG/SS as well; see here).

I know hacks can be different, so if it's added at Mt. Mortar, I won't be of much help.

Just so you all know, I have read forums and others like this, but I couldn't seem to find a good answer. So, I have found all of the nescessary flutes. Problems is, I cannot get the pedastales to stand up. I am playing on 3.2, so is it not suppsoed to happen? Also, where can I find the Cave of Wisdom? Also, I am currently fighting people and I am not getting exp, but I cannot enter the "2nd" crystal cave. Is that supposed to happen? If anyone can answer these questions, I would greatly appreciate it.

So you had no luck still. Sorry to hear that. Try to come inside the Mountain at night time.

Viktormizer November 6th, 2012 1:11 AM

I encountered a Marill only twice in all of the times I've been in Mt. Mortar so I'm gonna assume Houndour is just as rare.

Jambo51 November 6th, 2012 1:22 AM

I'm not sure if Houndour can be found in Mt. Mortar, but I can tell you that time of the day makes no difference to the Pokémon which appear.

Is this because the map tool cant add pokemon that appear at night?
If yeah can you somehow change this or the only way is to wait the creator of the tool to update it...

That would make sense, then. If Houndour does not appear in Route 7, that would be why and give reason for appearing at Mt. Mortar.

I tried to take a peek, but AdvanceMap didn't open it. Not sure what opens Fire Red hacks.

Have you tried to beat Team Static on Cinnaber?

Because it's probably header locked.

Indeed.

Note to self: if I ever move to this hack to write a walkthrough someday, ask for an unlocked copy...

LC isn't header locked, I just checked that. You DO need a special INI for A-Map to be able to read LC correctly, since it has had the number of map names extended on top of various other little hacks.

That explains it. It'd be easier to answer "Where is Somethingmon found?" questions by just peeking in there. :D

Houndour is on route 7 I just check with A-Map on it

Satoshi Ookami November 8th, 2012 4:48 AM

@Jambo: Oh yeah, you are right... it bugs with 1.95 AM, it works with 1.92, though.

Viktormizer November 8th, 2012 11:30 AM

Update: Houndour IS on Route 7. Easily the rarest Pokemon there, but it's there & they appear both during day & night. Not sure if it's also on Mt. Mortar or not, but I had no luck finding one there. Now if I can just get a Tyranitar & a third Moon Stone my perfect team will be complete.

Cyclone November 8th, 2012 1:20 PM

Jambo: what's the missing .ini file? Makes it a lot easier to answer questions like "Where is Houndour?" if I can look at the data. Already doing this in the Light Platinum thread (but no special .ini needed).

According to the original game and both G/S HG/SS, you won't find it there.

Does beta 3.2 complete the entire game?

Yeah I found it odd too, the in-game Pokedex for LC shows Houndour's location as Route 7 as well. But other people in this thread are saying they got one inside Mt. Mortar.

No.

Something like half the second island.

So then when I complete Beta 3.2 can I use that save state on the newer beta whenever it comes out?

That is not known. The 3.1 save could not be used, after all.

First off, I am playing the newest beta out 3.2 (Not 3.1) however I cannot find 3.2 forums so I put my problem here. I could not find an IPS of this beta because I don't think it is out yet... only found the .gba file and downloaded it...

My problem: I got an Eeevee and I wanted an Umbreon (never used one before)... anyway, it is now 9:30 pm and I am training Eevee and he has enough happiness to evolve... the thing is Eevee keeps evolving into Espeon at night... I think this might be a glitch...

I'm not sure if this problem only happens in beta 3.2 (I have to get beta 3.1 again and check).

Viktormizer November 8th, 2012 8:03 PM

Is there an EXP Share item in this game?

Did you get the Red Gyarados (assuming it's programmed in the game)? And take the Red Scale to Mr. Pokémon (assuming it's also programmed in the game)?

According to Jambo If you tried to play save game of beta 3.1 on beta 3.2 that will be a glitchy. But I haven't heard LaZ or from Zeikku if this is possible when they release beta 4
