Opinions on the Camera Angles
I think we have been ignoring the vast amout of camera angles :[ gotta show them some love and support too!
So Black and White has introduced, or say, added on to the camera angles (battles and overworld movement). How do you feel about them? Would you like to see more implemented in the game? DPPt gave us a small taste of it when Cyrus was "becoming a God", and HG/SS used it for Ho-oh and Lugias "epic entrance". Black and White just totally took control of it. I guess the creators were hyped up on skittles when thinking of this xD Personally I think they're a nice add-on. I might get annoyed once-in-awhile, like the Sky Arrow Bridge for example (too lazy to learn english names). In battle, it will phase me a bit, but then I will get used to it later on. I love the camera angles used for Cross Flame and Cross Thunder. Im really looking for more expansion on this, specifically for more camera angles in battle :D |

I Gotta' say I Love everything about the new battle scenes, especially the camera angle, the way it pans left to right ect. it's better than just staying focused on one place at the centre of the battle screen.

I love the new camera angles. They give the battle more perspective.

I completely forgot about camera angles. This revamp is making people think back to our older threads, yay!
I haven't seen much of the camera angles due to having not played yet buuut, from what I have seen in the previews and such, they're really taking camera angles to a whole new level. However, I'm still not sure whether it works that well in battles, cause although it looks good in the main games to have changing camera angles, just when it comes to the battles it just is out of place imo. :x I remember when everyone speculated whether we could control camera angles, good times. |
I think it was a good addition, I always wanted to change the camera around...though I hope I don't get Camera screwed...
|
I wonder if they plan to do this in future Pokémon games, I hope so, I think it's a great feature.

Amazing idea, It appears the designers are finally trying to use the capabilites of the DS to proper use. Now perhaps they could add a little more to go with the touch screen besides pressing colorful buttons.

I don't like how it moves sometimes. Here is an example of one thing that got on my nerves.
I had my Hiyappu (Panpour in english) use Cheer up (that may have changed too, not sure though). It moved the camera to focus on Hiyappu, did the animation, moved back up, moved back down, and then showed me gaining stats. Just kinda unnecessary movement. |
The battle and the city camera angles work great. Not that they couldn't be improved, but they're a vast improvement over the bird's-eye view of past games. It's nice actually being able to see the sky.

I dont like them at all...

I have mixed feelings on the angles, Where it gives the scenery 3D aspects the characters are still 2 dimensional and I don't think it mixes to well. I don't know how many people have played the game yet and I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I am not really able to give an example... Hell I'll add a spoiler tag below. If I can find a screenie of the moment I am going to mention I will amend this post and add it.

I already have a problem with dizziness when playing DS games. So I try not to pay attention to the camera angles much. They really make me feel sick after a while, which usually makes me not wanna play. I always feel like they were too over the top with the camera angles as well.
|
I'm rather fond of the new camera angles. Some of them are possibly the best usage of the DS' capabilities I've ever seen, from the alleys to battles to the Wonder Bridge. Sheesh, Game Freak, have you been able to do this since Diamond and Pearl? Hopefully they can give us something even cooler next gen.

I played the demo at the mall tour; it got pretty bothersome though. Who knows, I might change my thought when I get B/W.
