Do you delete some of your posts?

I delete some of my posts, usually it could be passed on as flaming or I can't think of something to say and say something silly.

Saryka February 10th, 2011 9:45 AM

Rarely will I ever delete my posts. I generally think about what I'm gonna say before I actually click the "Post Reply" button, so if I think something I'm about to say will offend or break rules or something, I just don't post it rather than post and then delete it.

Spinor February 10th, 2011 10:07 AM

I tend to delete my posts ESPECIALLY when its something embarrasing o__o

As an example: Last night, Yuouman posted two blog entries, and Forever commented that he was breaking a rule. You know what I posted? "^ is Minimodding" It took me quite a few minutes to remember Forever was a mod XD

Since you can't delete blog comments, I had to white it out o__o So yeah, embarrasing moments like that are when I delete my stuff. Or when I post wrong information.

Cherrim February 10th, 2011 12:49 PM

I have to delete accidental double-posts all the time (the server loves them D:<) but for the most part I never delete posts.

I do often edit immediately after posting though, sometimes several times. @[email protected];

^This.

Actually the last post I deleted was in the Harry Potter fanclub that I decided was boring. So, when I don't want affiliation with a thread I guess I'll delete my posts there.

Captain Fabio February 10th, 2011 1:02 PM

Not really. What I post is normally my opinion and I hardly ever delete them.

The only things I normally delete are double posts.

I don't have that happen it to me often. It must like me.

I think it only happens when the server/database hiccups briefly and most members don't get caught by it because there's a script that catches your double posts and prevents them (and also flood control prevents you from posting more than once every 30s or whatever). But admins are exempt from all of this so my double posts ALWAYS go through and it happens several times a day. :|

Nick February 10th, 2011 1:16 PM

I delete my posts all the time for multiple reasons.

Meganium February 10th, 2011 1:20 PM

There were times that when I try to post something, but then someone beats me in posting the EXACT same thing that I was going to post. I end up deleting my message. >_< I need to be fast next time.

So, yeah. I do delete my posts for other reasons besides that.

Sydian February 10th, 2011 1:37 PM

I never delete my posts, even when someone beats me to the punch. Usually in that case, I'll edit my post and add more information. The only posts I delete from myself are double posts, which I'm sure you'll see a lot of in my forums. lmao

Kevin February 10th, 2011 2:14 PM

It depends on what I posted. If it breaks the rules, sure, I'd delete it. But I usually reread what I'm about to post to make sure it's good. Sometime I would edit my post but rarely do I delete it.

Belinda February 10th, 2011 3:42 PM

I only delete my posts if it were to be a duplicate accidentally posted though that never happens or I didn't necessarily need to post that so at that last minute I decided to delete it.

Ayselipera February 10th, 2011 5:16 PM

I can only remember deleting two posts on PC. The first one was a really long time ago. I thought I might of revived a thread so I deleted my post right after doing so. The second time was because I read a thread question wrong and of course then answered it wrong. Oh, and I may have deleted a double post, but I can only remember double posting once before.

Enigma February 10th, 2011 5:37 PM

I typically delete posts when a duplicate is posted. Other than that, I don't really delete posts that often. I think through my messages before I post them. I like to leave thoughtful posts instead of something hastily done.

PlatinumDude February 10th, 2011 6:04 PM

I delete a post only if I screwed up on something or choose not to say that particular thing in a thread.

Zeffy February 10th, 2011 9:28 PM

If it's something that went wrong. Like when I posted a wrong fact for example. Other than that, I rarely delete posts at all.

Ho-Oh February 11th, 2011 2:36 AM

I delete other people's posts more than I delete mine (ironically, last night I checked the amount of posts I've deleted in B/W since I got modded, through usercp: 2 from me, and over 180 from everyone else).

So yeah, that shows how often I delete posts, kinda. :x

Thouuugh a few months ago I deleted posts like crazy. Now unless I'm beaten to something or double post, I don't really delete anything that I've posted. :)

@AdvancedK9: >___>;

Kotowari February 11th, 2011 4:09 AM

I barely delete my posts... It's not like I post that often anyways. :B As some other people said before, double posts are about the only thing I get rid of.
Editing is something that happens all the time, though. =3

Zelda February 11th, 2011 4:20 AM

I don't delete my posts often, and if someone beats me to an answer with threads such as Help Threads or questions in the CQ&F, I don't bother to delete them anyway. Usually when that happens I just edit my post to be a little bit more descriptive. The only time I really ever delete posts is if the server is working its slow way around causing me to double post, or when modwork needs to be done for another member's post. u_u

Regeneration February 11th, 2011 5:00 AM

I don't delete posts really often because I think at least 5 times before clicking that Post button. >:D

Pokemon Trainer Touko February 11th, 2011 5:56 AM

I rarely delete posts- but I always edit posts, I always make stupid mistakes :S

Sammi February 11th, 2011 4:25 PM

I only delete my duplicates these days. The only other reason I'd delete a post is if I were beaten at answering a question, and even then I'm more likely to just edit. (That's probably why I don't answer most questions in CQ&F in the first place, even though I enjoyed it in the past, haha.)

I don't like deleting stuff because I was an idiot. I'd rather just own up to it, even if it embarrasses me later on.

Guest123_x1 February 11th, 2011 5:23 PM

my reasons

I rarely ever delete my posts-most of the time I edit, sometimes several times over, but when I delete posts, it's usually because I find they don't contribute much to the discussion.
As for duplicate posts, that has rarely if ever happened to me but if it does, I usually catch them immediately after I see my first post and delete the duplicate.

Pokepal17 February 11th, 2011 5:48 PM

I hardly ever delete posts. I usually edit them due to typos, incorrect formats, and annoying links in images I post. :3

Corvus of the Black Night February 11th, 2011 6:11 PM

I almost never delete unless I noticed I was just fueling spam. I do edit like a crazy maniac though.

marcc5m February 11th, 2011 6:12 PM

I delete my posts if I say something that seems stupid, or if it might break a rule. Otherwise, I don't delete my posts.
They are all precious to me. Each one holds a valuable memory.

Captain Hobo. February 11th, 2011 6:23 PM

I hardly ever delete my posts I just edit them.

King Gumball February 11th, 2011 11:32 PM

when I always post VMs on my own wall, instead of on the wall of the person I am talking to DX And I usually just edit my actual posts when I post wrong info or something.

Taemin February 12th, 2011 12:27 AM

I can't remember the last time I deleted one of my own posts, the server error double posts aside. xD;

I know a lot of people delete posts that feel are wrong, or embarrassing or something.. but eh.

If I post something that I regret, or change my opinion on, I don't delete it. I'll post again eventually (or add to said post through an edit) saying that I've changed my mind, or to disregard what I said previously, but I never delete it. If it had been something said in an actual conversation face-to-face or over the phone, I couldn't have just 'deleted' it then, so.. XD No take backs.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ February 12th, 2011 9:42 AM

Very rarely do I delete posts. And when I do it's usually because I double posted accidentially/due to forum issues.

If I need to change my opinion on something, I'll usually just edit my post. Not that a lot of people will notice, but still... I don't like posting twice in a topic like a poll unless I feel it's truly necessary.

HinaBaby February 27th, 2011 11:57 PM

To tell you the truth, I've never deleted a post. XD

Beechlgz February 28th, 2011 12:39 AM

Only accidental double posts.

~Darkness~ February 28th, 2011 1:36 AM

I only delete accidental posts or double posts. Most things I just edit out or add to.

Dumbo Decus March 1st, 2011 7:58 PM

I haven't had to delete any posts as far of yet. I also didn't think I'd delete them, just because it was embarrassing. I mean.. it isn't exactly like it will delete the memory. People who read it, will still know what it said. Someone probably quoted it too, so yeah. Plus.. gotta learn from your mistakes.
