Same Level-adict

I feel like I'm the only person who does this...

I like to keep all my Pokemon the same level.

So like if my Starter is level 16, the rest of my Pokemon have to be the same level or I freak out and go train them to be Level 16, I think It's a good strategy for the Elite Four.

PLZ POST IF YOU DO THE SAME!! :X i feel lonely....

JeXsus™ February 11th, 2011 12:16 PM

Don't feel lonely, I do the same. ^_^ I get irritated when I see a level difference. I'll train as much as I have to so everyone is the same.

champagnepapi February 11th, 2011 12:22 PM

A lot of people do this. I usually give my Pokemon a cap when grinding, and train them all until they reach that level.
There's no shame in it, as it makes sure none of your Pokemon fall behind.

Kamitsure-chan February 11th, 2011 12:33 PM

I do this on every game, on every file, with every Pokemon. XD

The Red Chain February 11th, 2011 12:56 PM

You are definitely not alone, for I do it as well! :3
I always make sure that everyone on my team is exactly the same level. It's somewhat frustrating when they aren't, and it makes me feel like I'm leaving them out.
And why call your team a team if they aren't -truly- working together like they are supposed to?

Besides, it makes it so much easier to beat gym leaders and the Elite Four. You have everyone in your team to fall back on when times are tough. :D

coolcatkim22 February 11th, 2011 1:01 PM

Me too, especially in my Platinum.
I only make exceptions a few times like if I'm going to level them up after I do so and so or if I'm going to trade them away at some point.

Timbjerr February 11th, 2011 1:06 PM

I'm similar, although I do have a three level leniency. If my strongest pokemon is lv.14, the rest have to be between lv.11-14. XD

Cherrim February 11th, 2011 1:09 PM

I do it! For the most part, anyway. Sometimes I've found that my Cherrim tend to slip ahead of the group but I try to keep everyone on par. I feel bad if I'm overusing one Pokémon. D:

Palkia February 11th, 2011 1:09 PM

tbh, mostly ALL of my Pokemon have very different levels, and I never seem to have a balance of levels. The only time I've even came close to them to having the same level is in my 2nd Pokemon Platinum runthrough.

Aquacorde February 11th, 2011 1:13 PM

I do this as well for my team, no worries. In fact I get slightly irritated when I see my siblings' teams. They've always got like... a 10-level difference and it bothers me.

ShinyMeowth February 11th, 2011 1:21 PM

I also do this, it feels much more rewarding to eventually get a whole team of level 100s instead of already having one and then going back to train others. I don't like doing the same thing over and over again.

Sabrewulf238 February 11th, 2011 1:23 PM

I do this too, although I usually allow for a difference of about 3-4 levels...after that I start worrying and battle a lot with the lower level pokemon to get them to the same level.

blue February 11th, 2011 1:23 PM

Yup, I do the exact same thing, I could never have say, one Pokemon on Level 39, another 36, and another 31, they all need to be similar if not the same,

Like on my Crystal, all my Pokémon are Level 36, and I'm training them one level indivitually so you're not alone!

Shining Raichu February 11th, 2011 1:49 PM

Yeah, I do it too. I've done it in every game from Gold onwards, when I figured out while playing Red and Yellow that raising my Starter lightyears above the rest was not a valid training method when you come up against a Gym Leader or the Elite 4

Gouldie February 11th, 2011 3:22 PM

.

I have done this since i started playing! =)

Sydian February 11th, 2011 3:37 PM

I used to do that (or at least, my starter would be a level or two ahead because I was biased). I can't stand it now, it looks too robotic. :( HOWEVER. I do not like having Pokemon getting out of a five level range from each other. v_v It really bugs me. Not as much as it used to, but still...I prefer to have them close together, but not exactly the same.

vaporeon7 February 11th, 2011 3:41 PM

I have this problem. I will never allow one level. If you we to look at most of the challenges I've done you'll see that all the Pokemon are always on the same level. It's not like it's a bad habit or anything.

blue February 11th, 2011 4:03 PM

Take an Elite Four's team for example, their team is an ideal Level set for what I'd like,

I.e Phoebe from Hoenn,

Level 48
Level 49
Level 49
Level 50
Level 51

Something like that is what I usually have.

Yeah, I was going to use my challenges as an example, if you look at mine, the levels are similar, if not, identical.

TehPsychicTypeMaster February 11th, 2011 4:44 PM

I have that problem sometimes, it's like I MUST have my pokemon at each level. But sometimes that doesn't always fall through since my starter is usually 2-3 levels higher then the rest of my team, which I consider normal, since it's usually the main Pokemon I go into battle with.

Kirbychu February 11th, 2011 4:47 PM

I always put the weakest Pokemon in my squad at the front. I like to keep things as even as possible as well. However, I won't go out of my way to grind unless I'm being completely walled (Which almost never happens).

MysticFlygon February 11th, 2011 7:01 PM

I always keep my starter or main Pokemon 3 levels above everything else just because I like to keep my starter the strongest.

Elder Trainer February 11th, 2011 7:05 PM

I try to do this as best I can, but lately I've been slipping. Been playing through my second copy of Platinum and had been using a Budew as my Grass type....let it slip ahead of the rest of the team just to get it to evolve (I hate happiness-based evolution), and I had to stop using it to let the others catch up. Still not done yet.

Guest123_x1 February 11th, 2011 7:44 PM

it's in the manuals

For most of the time I've played the games, I've tried to keep all my Pokémon on my team the same level (as per advice in the Red/Blue and Yellow manuals and an NPC in those games).

Enigma February 11th, 2011 8:21 PM

When I first started planning out my teams for games beforehand, I would go out of my way to ensure that they were in order in my party from least to greatest Exp. Points in the Exp. bar. They would also always be the same levels. This doesn't apply to me much anymore, but it still kind of bothers me.

Rai February 11th, 2011 9:03 PM

I always do that! I get all compulsive if one is higher than any of the others on my team. They always, always, always have to be the same level. I refuse to go on unless they are all the same level.
